If its needed everytime you log in (not sure yet as it doesnt work on Pinnacle), hopefully this is changed. If its already on Permanently after typing /chatbeta 1, then disregard this comment.
[/ QUOTE ]
The document says that when it's live it will always be on, though you can hide.
The beta version must be turned on every time you log in. I guess this is still the beta version, since it says Beta. -
Hmm, says it's temporarily down...?
Any estimate on when it will be up? -
In trying to catch up with new posts here it dawned on me; The Colorado River = Red River.
Got this from a website when I went looking to double check my memory:
[ QUOTE ]
The Colorado River was originally named Rio Colorado or "Red River" by the Spanish. A person looking at the river today may not understand how it came to be named in this way, as the present day color of the river is more of a blue-green. The reddish-brown color that originally gave the river its name become a rarity upon completion of the Glen Canyon Dam in 1963. The silt and sediments that gave the river its color are now trapped behind the dam in the bottom of Lake Powell.

It could fit. -
This may have been mentioned before but...
last night someone in my SG took me to see the contact Penny Preston. I had a cow because my character's name is Pam Preston, and in her SG costume she has red hair, like Penny. (A long lost sister perhaps?)
Anyway, I'm studying Penny and I notice her t-shirt has a picture of Statesman on it. Cute. -
RE: Trenchcoats
I'm sure animating them is a pain, they'd have to move and flap in the wind like a cape, to some degree.
I hope if they ever add trenchcoats it's a choice between that or a cape. Because you know if it's not there are going to be characters with a trenchcoat and a cape. And that would just look strange.
I'm looking forward to any new clothes options, if there's nothing I like, big deal. There's a lot I don't like now, hasn't stopped me from playing or having alt-itis.
The only things I'd really like to see eventually are:
A nice worn, leather bomber jacket
Longer skirts
Other female shoe options besides the one with the ankle strap. IE: sneakers, pumps like some NPCs wear, sandals. Why on earth would I want to wear capris with ankle strap heels?
(Hey Cryptic, hire some women to design female costumes)
But when all is said and done, I'm really not going to complain about something that is free . -

(Further, to promote use of the teammate keystrokes, we are planning on putting small numbers (like the ones in the tray) next to your teammates' icons in the team window.)
What do you think about this change to the default binds?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow! When I played an empath I never used shift+number because I just knew I'd mess up the selection and heal the wrong person. I never understood why there wasn't a number next to the team members name for that purpose, and now it looks like there will be. Cool.
I think empaths will find this much easier than mouse clicking on names, like I did. I'd like to mention something about the team list and repositioning it:
As an empath I'd undock the team window and move it to the right side of the screen so my mouse pretty much stayed on the right side (Mouse is right handed, cursor is always on the right of the screen) seemed to work well...except that the buff icons next to the team names don't default to the left side of the team window. So I could never move team window all the way to the right. When a tanker or scrapper has a ton of buffs on (or debuffs from mobs) they scroll off the screen.
Any chance that can be changed? Or if there's already a trick to swapping the icons to the other side can someone let me in on it? -

Let me, if I may, make a point that not all of us real women who play the game are like this.
[/ QUOTE ]
<Gasp> I thought you were a cat! Cat...woman?
Great journal. I look forward to reading more of it, so please continue.
In all the games I've played I've gravitated to that jokey/flirty style of play. I even started out that way with CoH, but I've since stopped, mainly for 2 reasons:
1) I figure most guys think I'm really a guy no matter what I say.
2) Sometimes, like with that woman in the story, things can get a little freaky. I'd wonder if the other person was taking it a little too seriously when that's not what I intended at all. So now I keep the jokes to a general nature (if there's even time to joke in groups these days) and play it safe. -

This troubles me, because when we originally complained to you that raising boss difficulty would be problematic for soloers doing missions, you said that mission text always warns when a boss will be present. That also was not correct, and we said this to you, and I don't believe you ever retracted that statement or said that mission text would be looked at and corrected.

I knew I read it somewhere, it was a pain to find but I know I'm not losing my mind...

Anytime a Mission has a boss, the mission text SHOULD clearly identify that a boss will appear regardless of the team size entering it (bosses appear in spawns usually if there's 2 or more heroes on a mission map). /Bug it if the text isn't clear. We'll be improving this UI shortly so that there are icons that point out when a mission requires help and when it's solo-able.

That was here: Re: List of borked things in Issue 3
He posted that on 1/5/05
Thank you Statesman, this is a really great change, and I look forward to it. -

BTW if you have Stamina there's no reason to complain about the endurance usage of Fly.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, yeah. But my empath has no room in her build for stamina.
If I were to fly her across the length of IP I'd either have to toggle between fly and hover (to recoup some end), or cast recovery aura on myself first. And RA would wear off before I got to the other end.
I think if I had flight on a more soloable build I probably could live with it. But having it on a support AT that people wait for before starting a mission (the empath) makes the slowness more painful. -
Oh, and if any datamining is done and posted I'd like to see it broken down in levels. 14-24, 24-34, 34-44, 44-50.
I'd be curious to see what % started with fly but respec'd it out. -
Regarding all the posters who mention the 3 or 4 zones that SS sucks in...being handicapped in a few zones (SS) vs. being handicapped in all zones (Fly) isn't balanced.
A SSer can fight with their travel power on, try that with fly.
A SSer can keep up SS and stealth with no noticeable endurance drop, try that with fly.
A SSer can keep up SS and stealth, and fight, try that with fly.
A SSer doesn't have to slot it with extra slots (the power is that good), try that with fly.
And while I think hover is a very good power for combat, hover and fly don't compare with the sweet, sweet goodness of hasten and SS.
I don't have any additional slots in either of my characters with SS and they move very, very fast. One gets almost no aggro because it also has stealth running at the same time.
On the other hand, I added an extra slot on one of my characters with fly, filled both with flight speed enhancements and still fly as slow as an elephant with wings. Can't run any other toggle with it, so forget about stealthy flying, can't use it in combat because of the -acc (not that I think that should be changed I'm just pointing out differences). Yeah, I want this power. For why? -
[ QUOTE ]
1 end redux. 4 flight speed
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I made a mistake, I wouldn't add 6 slots, I'd add 5..and in your case add 4. Still not worth it in my book.
Someone bought my main run speed S/O and told me to ++ them. This is in one slot mind you. My God, I go so fast I ricochet off buildings and walls. I can't handle it, lol. -
[ QUOTE ]
No matter how you slice it, flying is ultimately safer than super speed, and offer an undeniable vertical advantage over super speed (or in this case, 4 other speed powers). If flyspeed had the same max as runspeed, why would anyone ever take superspeed?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't agree with that. My blaster can run through groups of mobs on the street without getting attacked. As someone said before, you pass so fast you don't get aggro.
But if my flight defender flew through a group of any type mob that hangs out in the air, Sky Raiders for instance, she'd be dead in less than a minute.
I recently added SS to my main, who already has flight, because I'm also tired of being the last person to the mission. I've been thinking of dropping flight on my only other flying character because no matter how I slot it it's still going to be slow and an endurance hog. The shame is it totally fits her character concept.
I don't care about the -acc to flight, I wouldn't fight with it on, it uses way too much endurance. And I'm not wasting 6 slots on filght (4 fly speed, 2 end red) because it still won't be a fast travel power. Those slots are better used in other places.
I think a good question is why would anyone take flight, which requires slots to be a mediocre power, when they can take SS and not slot it at all, travel at awesome speed, plus it uses almost no endurance? -

Ive heard its gonna be called Issue 5. the search for Issue 4.
[/ QUOTE ]
LoL
They can put in 4 after 5 and call it:
Issue 4: The Lost Episode
[ QUOTE ]
Well, my search through a latin dictionary reveals that the word:
'colosseum'
Isn't a proper latin word, at all, regardless of spelling. It's a poetic, inflected form of 'colosseus' which simply means: big, large, huge, larger-than-life.
Is States being even more cryptic than usual? Maybe he's trying to tell us the next Issue will be, ahem, pardon me, colossal?
heh

Maybe it'll have that much needed slider for the males so they can all be "big, large, huge, larger-than-life." Hmm. What did they wear under those togas anyway?
