    This. So much this.

Actually _eeeK_, yes that is exactly what I am saying. As the Corruptors buff/debuff numbers are so close to the Defenders, nerfing those numbers may be the only way to achieve a balance between the two AT's. I know Corruptor players would scream and rant to the end of days about it, but you have to to be the first to admit that they are OP in a tit-for tat comparison to Defenders. My idea is one is damage with some buff/debuff ability, the other the go-to buffer but less offensive punch. If the dev team wants to see more parity in the numbers playing Def's and Corr's, it may be a needed action, and IMHO would serve to make a unique distinction between them.
  3. The thing for me is always concept first. Pure damage numbers or fotm builds mean little to me. That being said, I do notice a disparate ratio of Defenders to Corruptors. For everyone Def I see, there a dozen Corrs which to me indicates that something should be done to better balance the two AT's. The two fulfill very similar roles but due to the Corruptors higher damage the Defenders higher but not noticeably higher buff/debuff nubers the former enjoys an actual performance benefit, hence the popularity of the AT. Of course this is something everyone in this thread already is aware of. Does the Def's higher defence numbers make up for its offensive shortcomings?

To agree, yes it does but a boost to AT'S damage while perhaps an easy fix, does nothing to separate the two AT's from stepping on each toes. The devs have also stated that they think Defenders are where they want them to be, so a damage boost seems unlikely. So if that isn't in the cards for the AT, rather buff what they consider a well balanced AT, why not reduce the Corruptors abilities?

Perhaps scourge only being a 50% damage boost instead of doubling the damage? Or reducing the chance of scourge occuring? Again, while a change, it may not enough to truly differentiate the two AT's. My favourite idea is reduce the effects of the Corruptors buff/debuff nubers to half of those the Defender provides. That way it gives more separation, allowing a player to choose higher damage but noticeably weaker buffs or lower damage but noticeably higher buff effects.
  4. I can imagine a few scrappers would fit this song well.

I always think of a scrapper casually walking up, their cape flapping around their legs, the sky overcast (not happening Paragon I know, but still), steam rising from a street grate, and a startled pigeon taking wing. A group of baddies notices the scrappers approach, and rush him/her. The scrapper continues on, unfazed with out breaking stride, the bodies of the bad guys dropping down around him.
  5. I've been playing this great game for over two years now but have only recently tried to get into the redside of the game. I did roll a stalker back in the day but I wasn't to taken with the class. After playing blueside and finding I liked to play blasters and controllers I figured the dominator would be a good fit.

I have a concept (which is how I always play all my charcaters, not based on out right performance), a psychic dominator with cold based powers as well. So my question to those of you knowledgeable in these matters, which is the more rewarding powerset combo to play: mind/ice or ice/psi? Thanks for all your input in advance.
  6. To the best MMO community and Devs around, have a great halloween everyone! I found this and thought it both relevant and timely.
