Quote:Aye. Seems to me that Statesman's Incarnate attack is pretty body based... I'd throw Riechsman's and Tyrant's in, but that would be redundant.I like those, but I'm sticking to my guns (figuratively speaking) and insisting on a purely body-centric Incarnate power. By this I mean a power which does not project or summon anything, not spikes, not energy, not earthquakes. Just whatever a character can do with the body, be it punching, kicking, stomping, clapping, yelling or what have you. Anything which does not require "projection" of power outside the body itself.

1:17 and 10 deaths!
Congrats to Ragypt who leveled to fifty, and thanks to Paragon's Death, Sevenpenny, Konanga, KK, Oya, and 1st Son! -

Quick, someone go keep the cats away from the server hamster cages! Where is SuperiorHamster when we need him!?
-
If rogues can go, can Myred be an alt? Haven't made her a hero, yet, and won't until the villain runs finish in (what, June?)
Edit: nevermind, meeting in Oro. Strike me :-) -
Quote:I'm almost betting on it.Unfortunately, this also makes me think they will release another set of salvage/conversions for the next couple powers. *sigh* I don't know how much more my brain can handle! :P
However, making that bet, will result in Pos playing sneaky poker, knowing that we all will make that assumption, and...
...I feel like that scene in the Princess Bride. -
The 9cu reinforcement cleanup crew... I'm thinking more and more that the rewards (thread rewards/iXP) should be shared throughout a league (reduce the iXP). As it stands, the group that takes care of the adds from the reinforcement point really gets a lion's share of iXP and threadcounts.
Lambda, too, you have people rushing into the courtyard to grab the groups there; or skipping the turrents for the nugget inside the facility.
Both types of rush are the result of people realizing the maximum meat of the grind; not from any (major) benefit to the trials themselves. -
Judgment again: I'd like a Knights of the Round materia.
No, seriously; instead of a blast of power, have a "ghostlike figure" charge into a mob group or a dragon appear over head and blast. -
BAF Master is fairly straightforward... indeed, it is easier than a moApex or moTin. The big trick to a moBAF is all about either running it twice to get the Mo OR really, really good control on the players during the prisoner outbreak stage.
IE, our runners who do the Mr E Mo events could do them right now with just a signup and go (they/we are skilled/listen well enough that getting it should be just one or two tries).
Lambda, however, will probably require everyone to be +2 or +3 (all sixteen) to carry successfully in time. -
Quote:Sixteen will equal one Incarnate Tau. But... would that make it an Incarnate Turn?Maybe next we'll have Incarnate Slices, and 8 slices will equal one Incarnate Pie...
On the subject of a Tau, does that mean, secretly, it is 300 incarnate numbers hiding in the background!?
Queue "nerds.jpg" image, here. -
So....
moLambda....
...who is interested? (once three of the badges are fixed)
So want a BAFλ or a λBAF costume chest detail.... -
The trick between "too hard" and "just follow orders and it is easy" is having around four incarnate +2's with some interesting interface and judgment powers. Destinies* flat break the difficulty, as well.
So, if you have, say, four "partial" incarnates on a raid of sixteen or twenty-four, it really makes the edge difference. If you try the same trials with only 50+1 (alphas), it is as hard as those posts illustrated.
*I strongly suspect Barrier will get a nerf, soon. -
Quote:Without coming out and saying it in the OP, yes, this is where I was leaning. Lore (and not the power), RP, and character concept wise, there are some excellent choices of incarnate abilities in our current pool.... for some characters. Of the sixtyish I currently have (yikes, I don't even want to think about how long and how much #$@%@ trials I'll have to do), thematically, only about ten have perfect fits to the current powers. Some additional twenty have a few powers here and there that match up with some of the concepts behind the new slots... but that leaves the other half in a conceptual hole.Hence, the point of this thread, I assume - sometimes the Incarnate powers work for us to pretend they were really ours all along, sometimes they don't. So, it would be nice to either have more of them, or have more customization options for the ones we have. Bright darkness, better colour choices for ice, the ability to shoot them out of guns, a physical Judgement and so forth. There are options, and I honestly do hope they add to the list at some point.
Since we do have powerset proliferation, I figure at some point we'll also have incarnate proliferation... I just wanted to get the discussion going.
...plus, I'd like a polearm powerset, but that's not what the thread's about ;-)
Lore addition:
I'd like the dancing swords (like you see in Apex). -
"You draw the essence of a large, orbital laser cannon from the minds of many a mad scientist, combine it with the power of the well to layth downth a smackdownth."
-
I figure we'll need a thread like this eventually (especially with all the beta threads' lore suggestions on minions).
So. player ideas on proliferation of the incarnate slot abilities?
Mine:
Judgment: Lunatic (something like the psi powersets, to go with the folks who are blaster/controllers/etc with psi based powers). Can even use Diana/Luna/Selene/ in the lore versus Artemis/etc
Lore: I'd like a Vanguard essence group. -
From what I've seen, I'd say the tier IV's have the same powers and are buffed. Happened to see an essence victoria slide up against a normal victoria; the essence victoria tore the regular one apart. (this was outside the "normal" zone of engagement during a phase III BAF; essence victoria was a tier III or IV, and was away from the host player and the ring of buffing/damage of the kill-adds group).

Dispari seems to have some good advice that is well received that might make good reposting here:
Quote:Slightly off-topic, I feel like a great approach for a team that's shockingly incompetent and just can't handle completing a trial might be to just start a Lambda, clear everything, and then leave. You can easily get 20-25% iXP and a bunch of threads doing that. Do that a few times and you can unlock and probably slot Interface and Destiny. -
Quote:I hate raiding with a passion. I also have (another) dodgy harddrive. By the time I get that worked out, the first runners will likely have moved on from these two raids. Not sure where exactly you're coming from with that, but if it's because your getting discouraged because of shotty PuGs, I found a good rule of thumb:
Stay AWAY from the Team-Up Teleporter. I've had nothing but bad luck with that. Pocket D is now the official hook-up place, and a good place to go to grab a quick, FULL team. Whats nice, is these can be cherry-picked to take what is NEEDED.
I was pretty discouraged day one of release. About 5 failed BAFs and 3 failed Lambdas. At the end of the night, I did squeeze out one Lambda win.
Yesterday? 3 Successful Lambdas and 2 Successful BAFs. People are already seeing what works and what doesn't.
If you're having a hard time finding a quality team, shoot me a tell on Spine.shank if you see me on. The team I've been running with (Was the same all night last night, they run a LOT), has a stellar success rate.
I hate raiding, btw. Refuge of the uncreative (both Dev and player), with the exception of the Mothership raid (which really isn't a Raid in any sense other than a mess of folks having kitbash fun).
Looks like the drop rate is decent though (from what I read, been dealing with hardware issues Tues/Weds nights, the very few hours I was home), if you can find twenty people to run it ad nauseam... if you can stand raiding.
I farkin' hate raiding, too.
Been in MMOs for about ten years at this point (10.166, with the six repeating), and I really, really detest raiding/raider mentality. I liked CoX because it was different in this regard.
This one element might be the writing on the wall, though, given that the more I read, the more it seems this is the way these current devs want to go. -
Quote:Thanks, Dispari. Was afraid of either of those answers!Theoretically you can also get 2 threads by doing an Apex or Tin, but that's only 1/10th of a common component. You need 60 threads just to get one common, so you'd have to run 30 task forces.
So yes, run trials or farm shards and inf.
I do appreciate the information, though. -
Okay, threads and the stuff that is made from them... am I correct in that they only drop on the two raid choices (and no where else)? So, the choice is to raid or somehow find an insane amount of inf?
(assuming the four new incarnate slots have been unlocked via incarnate experience) -
Quote:Generally hope so; more I read on the beta board and the guides, the more I'm tempted to just say "fark it" and head to another MMO.I think it's very important also for all of us that ARE going after the Mo badges, to work towards those level shifts. I know Judgement/Interface I'm only slotting T1, and then my focus will be on the level shifts that come with Lore/Destiny. This will make both Trials INSANELY easier than what we're experiencing now.
Being +2 levels then we are now, combined with strategies that will emerge as people learn the bells and whistles of the new trials? It's not gonna be as hard as we're making it out to be. -
Thank you for this.
/off to be shocked about having to raid.
//or just consider finally cashing in the chips. -
Seven deaths, fifty-five minutes and forty four seconds!
Congrats/thanks to Nasiria, Evilex, Hatake Yukiko, Ragypt, Rex Obscura, Mute Merc, and Dr. Awe! -
After using him for *years* to get alts in various SGs, I've realized someone else might have a use for this name, and, thus, I release the fellow. Please give the name a good home:
Owlhawk is now available. -
I won't be here this Sunday (Sunday, March 6th and Monday, March 7th, I'm, ah, being interviewed for entry into a program of study), but I think I'll be able to make all the future ones!
