"Knock knock," Snap said, stepping into Mionas' lab. "Anyone home?"
"Oh, I see..." a petite figure dressed all in pale blue was saying, talking to someone out of Snap's view. The young girl turned as Snap spoke. "Oh, hello there."
"Good afternoon," Snap answered, moving farther in.
"You already said...oh! Uh, hey Snap!" Mia said as she stepped into her view.
"What's up?" the fae healer asked. "I knocked, but I guess you didn't hear me."
"Uhh...just met ummm...uhhh...Yuki, here," Mia gestured, looking embarrassed.
"Hopefully you're behaving yourself," Snap said coolly, as Yuki turned back to Mia with a puzzled look on her face.
"Are you okay? You seem to be looking for your words a lot." the android asked.
Snap snorted. "That's normal for Mia."
"What?! It's not like I tried to examine her extensively! Uh, I mean-" the young scientist stammered.
"Yeah, well, you science types are always trying to take things apart to see how they work," Snap sighed, shaking her head in mock disapproval.
"Okay, so I took a peek at her audio receptors, but that's nothing!" Mia continued.
Snap waggled a finger at her. "Don't take apart Yuki, okay? She's a groupmate, not an experiment."
Mia flushed. "Hey! I only take apart things that I know I can put together again!"
"She wouldn't be able to take me apart," Yuki interrupted.
Snap turned to the android, studying her. She had the appearance of a young girl, with pale skin and light blue tracery of circuitry on her face, and was wearing a pale blue and white schoolgirl's uniform. The faery sighed. "He, actually. It's a long story. Mionas-or Mia, at the moment-is naturally male."
"Doesn't look male," Yuki said, eying Mia skeptically.
"Yeah, it's a long story..." Mia said, shifting uncomfortably. "One that is unfortunately embarrassing and well shared at this point..."
"It's not my fault you don't pay attention to what you drink," Snap pointed out laconically. "Hopefully you learned your lesson."
The two mentors of the Teamsters seemed to have completely forgotten Yuki as they stood arguing, and she observed them with mild fascination, wondering if this was standard behavior in the group.
"It's not like I did it on purpose! And I'm beginning to think it's more than just WRider's potion, otherwise his serum would have fixed it..."
"Well, you took the potion, then the serum, then Fygy and Rory both tried to help you..."
"And I ended up four feet tall and purple..."
"-and at this point you're a walking cocktail of potions, serums, and alchemical concoctions. On the plus side, at least if you're female you have the fortune to have a nice rack," Snap finished in a decidedly un-Snap-like tone, with a slightly disturbing grin on her face. A second later, she frowned and shook her head as though to clear it. "Dammit...that keeps happening lately. I'm sorry. I've been having trouble keeping 'Razur out of my head."
This statement brought a surprised frown from Yuki. "You have a razor in your head?"
"Uh...no. 'Razur is short for Blackrazur, my partner." Snap went on to attempt to explain the connection between herself and Blackrazur, which only drew another confused look from Yuki. Mia hurried to jump in with a more technical explanation.
"It's kinda like her and Raz share a private net link between their minds."
"Oh! I understand that explanation better." Yuki smiled.
"Yeah, nobody else understands what she's talking about most of the time either," Mia sighed.
"Don't worry, I'm not totally sure I understand it myself," Snap said dismissively. -
Thank you and thank you and thank you again. x3 it was a really, really good birthday. Random strangers called and sang happy birthday to me all day, it was weird. O.o

KJSR.net is happy to bring you The Cinnamon Bear, a radio serial from 1937. We are rebroadcasting it in its original timeslot, at 6 pm EST and 9 pm EST every day, starting the day after Thanksgiving. Each day, a new episode will be aired until the last episode airs the day before Christmas. This is the first time in over 40 years that The Cinnamon Bear has been rebroadcast and we had to write to the company who originally broadcast it (which is also the copyright holder) in order to get permission to air it and copies of the episodes to air. Tune in for a little piece of the past (and a pretty good story too) at 6 pm EST and 9 pm EST every night on KJSR.net. -

I'm hoping to start them at around 1 pm EST on Saturdays, BUT we will be deciding the start time on a TF-by-TF basis depending on the best time for all who sign up.

Thank you guys so much! -
Several of the Teamsters have expressed interest in running the Shadow Shard Task Forces, and we'd like to open 'em up to the rest of the server since they can be a real pain in the rump to get a team for.
We'll be doing one TF each weekend, in the following order:
January 9th: Dr. Quaterfield
January 16th: Sara Moore
January 23rd: Justin Augustine
January 30th: Faathim the Kind
We will culminate with a SSTF Marathon on February 6th where we will attempt to run ALL of the Shadow Shard TFs in one weekend (probably dividing them up to run two on Saturday and two on Sunday, I'm not going to follow in Stalemate's crazy footsteps :P). I will post signups for this once all the other TFs are done.
If you are interested in any of the TFs, please put your character's name, level, powersets, and AT below, as well as which TF specifically you are interested in! If more than 8 people are interested in each TF I will run a second one on Sunday, but that's pending how many people sign up for each! I will be updating this post as people sign up!

Ooooookay.
Firstly, you have a whole bunch of character slots on every server. Try EVERYTHING. Try tanks, try scrappers, try controllers, try brutes, masterminds, EVERYTHING. You will learn so, so much about building teams and who needs what buffs and what roles everyone is expected to play here by trying everything! And don't just try ONE flavor of each AT-try them all! Granted, some of them aren't for everyone, but try it anyhow!
Secondly, head on over to http://www.paragonwiki.com. It is the BEST source of information on CoH/CoV that exists. What you can't find there, come back here and ask (but expect to get some snarky answers).
Empathy defenders are fairly useless on a team of fully IO'd out folks who are farming at -1/x8 difficulty, but get a group of folks together and try to keep them alive through a Hess, Imperious, or Statesman Task Force, especially if some of them have no idea what's going on. Or a Lady Grey. Try soloing on your Emp toon-it's not easy. And don't ignore the value of your buffs when it comes to teams. They will do SO much more for the team than your heals will if you use them right, and they will allow you to use your secondary more often to assist the team by blasting/debuffing/etc.
If you like to solo, try a scrapper or a tank. If you like to buff/debuff, and prefer team play, try a controller or a defender. If you want to deal massive amounts of damage, try a blaster or a scrapper. However, don't expect any team to absolutely NEED a certain build. ANY team can take on ANY challenge in the game with enough wits, skill, and determination.
And if you've just come from WoW, remember that CoH/CoV is a whole 'nother ball game. Forget everything you know about MMOs and relearn it from the ground up in City of Heroes. A lot of the things you think you know don't apply here.
It's not end game, it's all game, as long as you're game enough to give it a good go.
Good luck, and hope you start having fun! -

8 pm central is 7 pm EST, right? We meet at 8 pm EST every Thursday anyhow, so if an hour later would be good for you guys, it would be better for us. We can probably field at least one team, and if we can get the folks in Protector Vigilance to lend a hand, that would be probably at least one more team.

I'll talk to the Teamsters tonight and see if I can't get folks to agree to show up on the 3rd. What time?
