Salvage has 3 level tiers. If you need a low level salvage, then you need a low level foe to drop it. If you are a much higher level than the foe, it will 'con grey' and won't give you any drops.
So, if you're out of that range, you have two choice:
1. Just play the game at your level and then sell the salvage you get and buy the ones you want at the Market.
2. Play Mission Architect missions and use the ticket drops to buy the salvage you need. For the common salvage, you'll have to 'roll' for random ones at the right level tier and type (Arcane or Tech). The uncommon and rare ones you can buy specifically at the Ticket Vendor.

I ran some Mission Architect missions and managed to get the salvage items I needed. Thanks for the advice on that. Worked quite well.

Thanks for that. Sounds like the Mission Architect is the way to go for me. I need a heap of Luck Charms for my recipies and I think I'm starting to get a little too high a level to get them from the sound of it. I don't really want to use ther auction house as it seems like they're pretty expensive and I don't yet fully understand how it works. Still quite new to the game.
Thanks again for the advice. -
Awesome. Thanks for that. I found that site but didn't pick up on the "print-out" option. That should help me.

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to CoH but am loving it so far. Being having loads of fun. At the moment I'm trying to use some of the receipes I have but I need specific salvage items. Rather than buying them I'm trying to farm for them. This brings me to the topic of this post. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can find maps of the various areas with general locations of various villain factions and their approx level?? I know that villains change a bit and that they appear at various times (Circle of Thorns are more at night for instance), but I want to be able to find certain villain factions and levels that will actually give me both xp and drops. Hopefully there is something, otherwise I can just keep running around till I find something useful.
Thanks
