  1. INFO

((“The Children Left Behind” is a Virtue RP villain group created for villains eighteen and under. We have a rich history, as well as a very organized structure. We will hopefully have a website and message board soon, but until then we wanted to put our information up here for potential recruits to gander at.))

    HISTORY

In 1975 a baby that would become the Sinister Splinter was born to the already established super villain, Nuclear Neuron. Splinter grew up being pushed by his father to be the best. Neuron had planned to give his empire to his son, and he wouldn’t tolerate anything but greatness; however, Splinter needed experience in dictatorship if he was to ever lead his father’s minions. To this end, in 1985 Neuron formed “Lost Boys”. Lost Boys started as a group of five ten year old boys, most of them sons of super villains, with Splinter as their leader. They would accomplish small acts of villainy, stealing insignificant objects and research, as well as defeating a fledgling gang or two. For the most part, they would take care of the petty things their fathers didn’t want to worry about. They continued in this way until 1987 when they began becoming a villain group in their own right.

In 1987, a hero group named “Wonderkids” emerged on the scene. Led by Psy-kid, Wonderkids was a formidable foe. Unlike Lost Boys, Wonderkids had no restrictions on recruitment, the result being a very large, young, and inexperienced group of heroes. Lost Boys preyed upon this group, starting a very natural and very fierce rivalry. The result was a turf war in Steel Canyon known as “The Youth Wars”. Lost Boys won many of these early battles, but quantity proved better then quality, and as Wonderkids grew it became increasingly difficult for Lost Boys to defeat them. Lost Boys finally gave in and opened their doors to new recruits, even girls. As a result, they changed the structure and their name to reflect their new co-ed nature. They changed to a dual leadership, one male and one female, as well as adjusting their name to “Lost Children”. Along with their leadership change they promoted a new female recruit named Tulip to co-leader.

The battles continued for years, neither side really gaining control over the other. During these years Lost Children grew, inducting future prominent members such as Bubonic, Dogface, and Paradise Lost. In 1993, amidst the Youth Wars, Splinter had his eighteenth birthday. Many of the kids in the group distrusted adults, and viewed Splinter as one. They feared that he would hurt the groups demographic and morale, many now saw him as a hated father figure than a brother in arms. As a result the group revolted, and ambushed Splinter, bombarding him with punches and threats. As a result Splinter was beaten within an inch of his life and left the group. After Splinter quit many boys rose up to try to take his place. There were many fights and arguments until they decided to settle it with a battle. Bubonic won, and was recognized as their new male leader. To this day this occurrence has instilled fear in the hearts of leaders and members alike. It is now an unspoken rule that you leave when you turn eighteen, and ever since then leaders have promoted someone to take their place before they leave, in order to keep in-fighting to a minimum. Under the new leadership of Bubonic, and the experienced leadership of Tulip, Lost Children finally defeated Wonderkids in a large scale battle. As a result of the battle many Wonderkids were hospitalized, and others, including their current leader Larva Lad, quit due to a broken spirit. Wonderkids was never able to recuperate from their losses, and disbanded five months later.

One year later Tulip reached her eighteenth birthday and left the group. She promoted nine year old Paradise Lost to take her place; and that same year Symbal, the kid that would become what some consider the strongest leader in the history of the group, joined. In 1998, Bubonic had his eighteenth birthday and promoted Dogface as the new male leader, but other than that the years after the defeat of Wonderkids were uneventful. Lost Children worked out of Steel Canyon, keeping their grubby little fingers in many sinister happenings, and having a few minor squabbles with meddling heroes. These run-ins became more then petty annoyances, and the group determined that Paragon City may not be the best place to base their operations. Paradise Lost made the decision to move the group to the Rouge Isles. They did so, some begrudgingly, and some happily.

Their first year on the Isles was a rough one. Even though they had a strong leader in Paradise Lost, Dogface was a laughable one. They struggled to gain acceptance in the villain community, and it didn’t help that Dogface was continually mucking up their campaigns. Luckily for the group, Dogface was initiated as leader at sixteen, and turned eighteen at the turn of the century. It was at this time that Dogface did the only commendable thing he ever did during his run as leader. He promoted Symbal.

Symbal’s first act as leader was to change the team’s name in order to symbolize the new direction that team was to go. In an attempt to criticize President Bush, Symbal changed the groups name to “The Children Left Behind”. Under Symbal’s leadership the group flourished. They gained respect among the villains of the Isles by starting a war with an established group and holding their own, as well as accomplishing many tasks Arachnos set before them. Symbal was just what the group needed. It also didn’t hurt that right around this time Wonderkids started back up. This reincarnation of Wonderkids, led by a hero named Tundra’s Son, helped “Children” feel like villains again. Their rivalry was restarted, and was fiercer then ever. The new Wonderkids were ruthless, and would stop at nothing to defeat The Children Left Behind. But still, through this time The Children Left Behind prevailed, gained respect, and grew. They recruited future leaders Geit and Kid Dusk in the midst of the second Youth Wars, along with many others. However, sometimes fortune smiles on you, and other times it frowns.

In early 2005, Symbal and Paradise Lost turned eighteen within weeks of each other. They both promoted their replacements, Geit and Kid Dusk, and then left. Never in the history of the group had there been two brand new leaders at the same time, and many blame this for what would happen. Still, some say the fate of The Children Left Behind was inevitable. In September of 2005, The Children Left Behind got word of a drug deal going down in Port Oakes. Little did they know that they didn’t cleverly obtain this information, but false info was leaked to them. They showed up at the dropoff point ready to steal some drugs and money, but were ambushed by Wonderkids. The Children Left Behind was not ready for the attack, and Wonderkids easily overpowered them. Most of The Children Left Behind were sent to the Zig, but some were sent to the morgue. The only one to escape was Kid Dusk. Dusk wandered around for a month, trying to figure out what to do, when he heard of an Arachnos operation to break out a bunch of inmates in the Zig. Dusk stowed away on an Arachnos helicopter to guarantee that Geit would get out. He was able to rescue her, and now the two of them have recreated The Children Left Behind, hoping to make it bigger, and better, than ever.

    RANK

Even though The Children Left Behind is a dictatorship, there is still much room for advancement. While one cannot become the leader of the group without being promoted by the current one, they can still have power over lesser members. To do this they must appease their leaders, and accomplish tasks quickly and thoroughly. It is not necessary to move up within the ranks; however an ambitious child would surely want to. Who knows, when the current leader leaves they may promote you.

(( In order to advance in rank you can ask Geit for a task. She will hand out assignments, and if you accomplish them you will get moved up in rank. Moving up in rank means more privileges, although it is not necessary to have fun in the group. ))

    BASE

Along with Geit’s psychic powers comes many perks, one of them being the ability to change people’s memories. The Children Left Behind have a very nice mansion, which Geit was able to obtain by stealing the keys and making the former owner forget that he owned it. The Children Left Behind base their operations out of there, and many of them live there too. They try their best to keep its location secret through psychic manipulation, although many have been able to visit there and escape without brain damage. They are constantly building within it, and every day it looks less like a home, and more like a base.

(( Every member will be able to contribute to the base. If you want to build something we will examine your prestige contributions to see if you qualify. Geit and my belief is that this is as much our base as it is yours, especially if you contribute to pay for it, so why should we have all the power over it and leave you out? ))

    SO YOU WANT TO JOIN?

(( If you want to join The Children Left Behind you can leave a message in this post with your contact information, PM me with your contact information, or send an in game tell to Geit or Kid Dusk. We accept already established characters, as well as characters created specifically for this group. Just remember, this is an RP group, and we –are- looking for people that like to RP. No painful forms to fill out, no probationary periods. Just have a chat with Geit and me, and if you’re cool, you’re in! See you in the Isles! ))
  2. I teamed with Gaffer back in beta.

We had gotten about halfway through our mission, and he says "I've gotta go, servers are about to go down. Sorry guys." And then we were all like, "Hunh? No one's said anything about the servers going down..." Then he said "I know, but I'm Gaffer ; )" Then he quits the team.

We were thinking, "Yeah, right. No way were we just playing with Gaffer." Then, two minutes later the little red chat pops up saying the servers are going down, and immediately after that Gaffer pops up and says, "Oh, and sorry to the team I just had to ditch."

We ended up finishing the mission, but to this day I still think that was real cool.
