But, he's more than that, something deeper, darker, and by no means noble. In fairness to Sooner's story, I wanted to remind my fellow readers, he's no anti-hero. He is evil, in all its self-serving, power-hungry, brutal simplicity.
He may be evil, but I can't help feeling like he's missing a step.

Admittedly, I don't remember anything from in-game myself, probably why I was able to overlook it as easily as I did. However, a quick scan on the Skull's page on the City of Site shows that this is indeed the case.
  3. Ah, my mistake. Must have read the first announcement wrong.
  4. Technically, didn't they extend it twice already? I thought at first it was only until the end of December, then it went to January, then Feb.

Influence is what heroes accrue. Infamy is what villains accrue. They're the same thing, but cannot be exchanged one for the other. Kind of like an Russian ruble and an Australian dollar - both currency, but you generally can't spend them in the other country.
Just to nit-pick, yes mechanically it is the games money. If you play the Villain side, their equivalent is called infamy, both use the abbreviated form inf. However, much like the game's use of the term 'defeat' rather than 'arrest' or 'kill' influence is left vague to fit a larger variety of concepts. If you want a character that's Bruce Wayne levels of rich, then it represents vast amounts of capital at the character's disposal. However, if you want someone in a lower earnings bracket, it can be referred to as 'good will' and basically people give your hero stuff for free because of the good he or she has done for the community. Whatever you decide to call it, it all spends the same, though.

Or a toggle-cracking gravity controller. There ain't gonna be no draws in my doppelganger system. If you want to hokey-pokey with superpowers, we have pylons for that.
And there are those who go in a completely different direction for their evil opposite. My main is a classic big n' tough guy (WP/SS). Instead of just going SS/WP Brute, I decided the mirror would instead pick up weapons and back up, and became Mercs/Traps.
  7. Be Healed!!!

Also Warface. (Even if he hasn't left the game, I'd like to see him back on Protector one more time)
  8. Tune in tonight at seven for the season two finale of AEntertainment Tonight! The AE crew, and a guest or two will review: Two Tickets to Westerly, Dereliction of Duty, Night calls the Weaver, and a few more Dev's Choice overviews.
  9. Was this dead long enough for this to be a Necro?

Either way, I just recently reserved Nuclear Arsenal for an upcoming DP/Rad. Was really shocked when I found it wasn't even taken on Test yet.

I actually tried Gfriending myself once. If I'm not mistaken I was actually told "You're already your own friend". Could be wrong, though.

There are folks here who didn't wait that long.

As for me, I'm still trying to find a woman that's not afraid of me as is. Somehow I can imagine I'd only get creepier after a couple hundred years.

Should also note his next post where he indicates that mail with attachment goes to global specifically so you can see it on all your characters.

And I was just getting used to turning OFF e-mail on all characters.

Actually, there was a post by Manticore years ago that said the whole thing was, in fact, an accident. He says he didn't remember the connection between Statesman and Ms. Liberty when he put the bio together for Dominatrix, and when the player base pointed out the implications his reaction could be summed up as "Oh, crud. Oops?"

Because if his "not evil" is simply because he's a failure, then that's not really a fair judgment. You shouldn't need to be successful to qualify as being Evil. There are plenty of Evil failures.
No, success would not equate Evil for Recluse. In fact the only thing that may may change, is removing the 'pathetic' descriptor. That is, depending on how he managed to finally succeed. Remember, the two plans we've actually seen him engage in is "Get someone else to do it" and "lock the future in place so it doesn't matter what he does, the outcome is, he wins."

    What

Theory: If this is a concerted effort we're seeing, it's likely that they are all running AE missions for the farm which means that there will be no fighting outdoor spawns. It is also likely that they have a scheduled team session, and they are unlikely to move without all eight of them in the mission. Thus, level pacted or not, there's little if any possibility of them earning any XP that all eight didn't share in.

Now the screenshot shows more than eight people who may be a part of this. For this I posit that it's possible that they MAY be pacted, but not to anyone else on the team. Essentially, each person on team A is pacted to someone on team B. If this is the case, then everytime anyone earns XP on team A, then it would be evenly split among all 8 players, and then each even portion would be split to the partner on the other team keeping as many as sixteen players at the same level.

However, I do not know WHY they would do such a thing, as it seems needlessly complex.

And we've come around again to the point that I can't reconcile. If someone is going to be called Evil, then they had better BE Evil. People can commit Evil acts, but to be considered Evil is to be the personification of these acts.

Mako is the personification of murder, the only thing he cares about is who, not what WHO, his next meal is going to be. Phipps is the personification of torment. His entire life is centered around tormenting the helpless and destitute. These two people are Evil.

Meanwhile Recluse is a pathetic, petulant, petty child throwing a temper tantrum that in all aspects of life, even Villainy, he is always second runner to Marcus Cole. (seriously, the only person to actually defeat and subdue Cole is Cole) Bad? Certainly. Evil? Not even close. Calling him that is akin to diluting the term, much the same way the 90's diluted "awe some" to "mildly impressive".
  19. Evil doesn't care anything about the 'greater good'. Evil is the Opposite of good. It's a Pure force of nature that is against everything IN nature.

And your Mother Mayhem example is actually arguing that there IS nothing good about these people, if you can still call them that, because if we're going with the established Praaetorians from the PI arc, her patients had nothing mentally wrong with the before they were 'admitted'. They simply broke because she find Torture an entertaining pastime.

So we have a mass-murdering power hungry pedophile, and a Someone who breaks peoples minds out of boredom. Exactly where's the ambiguity here?

But if you've been serving Tyrant for your own ends, then choosing the Rogue Isles would be a better option, as Recluse's style of government matches what you're used to in Praetoria - the strong rise to the top.
Again, good for the Praetorians. They're not Evil, just stupid and easily misled.

Golden Girl, the post I made here was actually intended mainly for you. I'd like to see your opinion of the ideas in there.

I won't speak for the others, but this is kind of the point I was trying to make for the bulk of this. That maybe there will be a reason for Heroes to even step foot on the slope. The only response I kept getting back is that Tyrant is evil Evil EVIL.

What I can't understand is how folks are saying that even though he's the clearly defined Evil, that there can still be any moral ambiguity left. You can't point to black and call it gray. If he was an Antagonist, I could work with that. Extremist, Anti-Hero, hell even if he was a Villain there could be some work around there. But the word I keep seeing is Evil. You do not reconcile with that. You do not work with Evil.

    Evil is.

Evil is Darkseid, it is Joker, it is Lecter, it is pain, destruction, death and suffering. You do not half *** Evil. Evil is what Recluse wants to be when he grows up. Even a Villain can have redeeming qualities, but not Evil. It is the antithesis of everything that makes sense in the world. And it is not something that can be hidden. If a person is Evil, truly Evil as Tyrant is supposed to be, then no right minded soul can even look upon him and not KNOW that their life is in imminent danger.

On the color scale of morality Evil is the cold dark center of a black hole. A person has to earn the right to be called Evil, and it's not something that they can ever come back from.

And it's not something I can work with. Ever.

Starting with agreeing to work for an Evil dictator. I'm already uncomfortable.

And for the Resistance, it could be the opposite - like if you've spent years fighting against Emperor Cole and his super-powered enforcers, finding out that one of your potential destinations on Primal Earth was a city where another Marcus Cole lived, along with a quite heavy super-powered military presence on the street in the shape of Longbow, then you might just decide that the Rogue Isles was a better bet - especially if you heard that a woman called Belladonna was in a position of power there

So while it wouldn't change the framework of Tyrant being the bad guy, it'd take into account the possible ways that the Praetorians might view Primal Earth.
Praetorians, maybe. But the Tyrant you and Grey describe, and the entire organization he leads are blatantly, obviously, and clearly definable as down-to-the-laugh EVIL. Hence no Paragon Hero would ever, for any reason, associate themselves with such an organization, unless they too were absolutely evil and just kept the secret really well. Unless you two are WAY off, then the side switching mechanic will have as much subtlety as the first Fable. Instead of leading down what may be a questionable path, we are left with this little scenario:

"What a beautiful sunrise. You know what sounds good today? I'm going to head down to the" bank, rip the vault door off, take everything inside and then poke old ladies in the chest, because I am Superman! And I am Evil!"

No reason, no slippery slope, just "Screw it, I'm a bad guy now." And the problem I've had is that all the evidence points to this being the case. Without some real heavy ret-conning we really are looking at the same quality of writing as the 5th Column TFs. I really want this to be a big draw for new players, but the way it is now, I'm just not seeing it.

EDIT: I'm not asking that it not turn the Heroes evil to work for Tyrant, or that too would defeat the purpose of the expansion, but at least don't start off the side switching arcs with burning down kindergartens.
