  1. Had some fun in Warburg today, as usual. The only low moment was when another pvp'r started complaining about my constant movement while in battle. I usually have CJ, acro, and whirlwind toggled on while blasting from range on my fire/fire blaster. Obviously it frustrates melee ATs. This instance, however, involved a controller who placed snow storm on me. Just like rad and dark's debuff toggles, a viable tactic is to create separation from the caster and break the toggle through out-ranging it. I switched to SJ and SS (for some reason SJ is unaffected by snow storm's slow) and made a lap around one of the buildings to break the toggle... at no time did I ever approach the safe zone. My opponent claimed that I deliberately trained NPCs on him. Since he left abruptly after, I thought I'd explain to him what my thought process was. If that's not good enough for him, oh well... and GG.

His friend was in the zone at the time and challenged me to an arena duel. Ladi Fire destroyed me. He's a very good fire/energy blapper w/ a strong build... and I have no problem admitting that he's a better pvp'r atm as well.

Thanks to One of those Days and Lord Grim for the fun team

How attached are you to ET and TF?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ET and I would have to be surgically separated, and one of the two of us would probably die in the separation.

TF, OTOH, I just got about 3 hours ago and haven't really used yet, so I dunno. I'll let you know when I get to 33 and get some slots in it. Right now, it's an unslotted attack, so of course it blows.

I was joking... unless you took it serious and are considering it... not that I would benefit in any way from it

I thought asking for you to skip AS was a bit too transparent

    *visions of Hannibal saying...*

How attached are you to ET and TF? Nice, sound startegy, btw.

Yesterday afternoon I took my fire/fire blaster (Ember Reborn) for a spin in Warburg and found it to be barren. The only other inhabitant was Arch Blaster, an arch/energy. We dueled on the beach for a solid 15 minutes until a stalker, Baron Von Bismarck decided to say hello. Two more heroes, a stone/EM tank named Avenger VI and a dm/regen scrapper named Dark Monk3y, entered the fray. Arch Blaster and the stalker left shortly and were replaced by Karaza, another dm/regen. The four of us battled on the beach for an hour in some of the most fun PvP action I've participated in. Between getting feared by the two DM's and getting tp foe'd into the mud potted lap of the stone tank w/ TF ready to fire... I surprisingly and miraculously died only once.

What made the session enjoyable were the good-natured players involved, no one running to the safe zone, and the unexpected turns of having four solo players targetting opponents chaotically. Thanks Avenger, Dark, and Karaza... see you guys soon
  4. I just glanced over your build. I've never been an advocate of stun from energy melee. Why waste an attack on a disorient when you can disorient and damage simultaneously w/ several powers in the set? <--- My reasoning Also, with the relatively short battles you choose to fight, do you find energy drain to be useful?
  5. Does your current build allow for the selection of phase shift?

Regarding hit and run tactics... I don't fault any player for doing whatever is necessary to survive odds stacked against their favor. A stalker is clearly no where near as resilient as a scrapper. I think many people make that erroneous assumption. Stalk on Q...
  6. Have you attempted assuming the role of a finisher? Basically, allow your teammates to engage the opposition and enter the fray to AS opponents w/ less than full health. The obvious problem of what to do after revealing yourself can be worked around (in theory) by having a teammate recall friend the stalker after the deathblow. I know this method requires specific builds... just throwing an idea out there.
  7. I had a great time in Warburg tonight. Started out solo as a minor annoyance to some of the LMCs (BEER! ) on my growing lvl 33 blaster, Frost Reborn. As the zone became more populated I teamed with the Monkies and WC against a formidable HVND team, among others. I hope to see more nights like this w/ a decent turnout.

BTW, Biotron is a class act. Good show
  8. Thanks for the one on one tonight Quason.

    Happy Birthday Arctus!

Heh, I remember that. That was half prank, half vengeance. Frost and his team had been handing me and my team our lunch for a while, so I called Frost out for a 1 on 1, then got 3 stalkers to jump him when he landed.

Thankfully, you've mistaken me for that poor fella. My incident was a simple one on one against a villain in the water, just outside the hero entrance in BB. You AS'd me while I was in combat w/ another... nothing more, nothing less.

My mistake... I originally meant to have it read "two */storm controllers."
  10. Rough pvp night all around for the kid...

I took Ember for a spin solo in Warburg and was treated to a kind welcome from two Ill/Storm controllers (Prince of Cania from the Monkey Cult and Storm Tracker from HVND). As soon as my breakfrees were exhausted in 30 seconds or so, I was thoroughly embarrassed and outclassed. I believe I made four futile attempts in total before packing it in. Strong PvP builds + intelligent and experienced PvP veterans + losing side of paper/scissors/rock AT matchup = ugly. I knew my chances were slim... though it was fun trying

I switched to Frost and headed over to Siren's Call for a bit. The heroes were camping the villain base (no respect earned in my book for exploiting mismatches), ganking any and all poor villains trying to leave the area to a pvp or pve destination. I decided to pass on those tactics and ran solo for a bit. Normally I enjoy hunting villains, though this time I went from hot spot to hot spot battling npcs. Prevalence (Iltat) and Stalker Quason (duh ) caught me while engaged and taking on too much aggro... so they mercifully spared me from acquiring debt w/ brutal efficiency. I would have requested a 1 vs 1 but Quason taught me a valuable lesson in the morality of villainry during the Bloody Bay levels.

On a side note, I'm about to reach the Warburg entry level w/ Frost and have a question: Are there decent pve missions available in Warburg, similar to BB and SC? I've been leveling Frost in the pvp zones exclusively due to the higher XP gain in those territories.

So I had found some folks, including Yaquiro (who has the meanest freaking toon I've found...that SO needs to be a click! ) who wanted to try me one on one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd like to echo these sentiments regarding Yaquiro and his toon One of those Days. Dust off one of your heroes and team with him for a change... you'll respect his abilities even more.
  12. I've had the pleasure of teaming with and facing against the Monkies quite bit lately with my blaster. They're all good pvp'ers and good sports as well (which I consider the most defining characteristic of those I enjoying playing with). Tonight I defeated:

    Jett Blonde - solo
BeerKnight - had a sliver of health and was on the run when Pandora saved him (Beer's my boy, good guy)
Netherflare - we even chatted in between
AceStorm - who was unhappy w/ my emp defender's support

Props to the following who've earned my respect:

    Kagemon - classy scrapper
    Anckle-Biter/Gaia's Guardian - great player
Cessium - true pvp empathy defender
Pandora's Wraith - another great emp
Voodoo Love - nasty controller, hope she's on your team

I'm having a blast in Warburg. Hope to see you all soon
