See, this is why I love our Dev's.

Yeah. Mystic Force was just... BAD. That's the nicest way I could put it.

Yes. And the reason you can't find it is because it's not a real show. It's one of the "commercials" they play during Children's Hospital on Adult Swim. (Children's Hospital is a parody of medical dramas).

Quote:The only thing is, is that most games *NEED* endgame content because there is little, if any, incentive to play Alts. Once you've gotten to level 9,001 in "Generic MMO: The Grinding: Super Bloodlines Turbo 2 Championship edition", you've pretty much done everything. Rolling up a new Half Drow-Dwarf Warrior Monk of Puppy Kicking isn't going to change anything, because the experience is pretty much going to be the same.End-game doesn't mean to end the game. Leveling games are 2 phased. The leveling phase in which you are progressing your characters through the levels and then the End-game phase in which you can no longer level anymore and more emphasis is put on what you can do in this game. This generally comes about since without the need to level anymore, developers need to put out content to keep that maxed character interested and playing in their virtual world.
With City of Heroes/Villains however, you can play two Scrappers, and have the experience be completly different both Visually, and Gameplay wise, simply by changing your Powerset and Power Pool selections. Therefore, the need for "Endgame" content simply isn't as demanding as other games. -
Quote:Of course, not everyone considers stuff like Badges and PvP to be Endgame content either, just like how not everyone considers Achievements to be viable motivations for replaying a game, but would consider stuff like unlocking additional characters, infinite wave modes, ect as viable post game rewards (The "end game content" if you will).Okay, point, but then that's not saying there's no endgame content available. That's saying that you (figuratively speaking) don't like the endgame content that's available, which is a totally separate issue.
And while I agree that more (and more diverse) content could be added at the end of the game for those who hit 50, I don't agree that it's the all important fact that alot of people seem to think it is. -
Quote:Not everyone is a badger, not everyone likes PvP, and not everyone cares for the Hami raids.Don't we already have that in the form of Rikti/Hami Raids, badge-hunting, Super Rare Purple Invention Enhancements of Doom for Everything, PvP, et. al? Maybe I'm just in the slow class, but my main is a 50 that I've had for well over a year now and I'm struggling to keep up with just getting badges. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever done a Hami Raid...

Quote:The "Endgame" does not refer to "finishing" the game. The idea behind the "Endgame" in MMO's is that people want a way to continue to play the characters they put their (figurative) Blood, Sweat, and Tears (Or, in some peoples cases, phat stacks of paper) into. The "endgame" can consist of high level raids or other activities that can give the player a way to feel like they are making some kind of progress, even when they are no longer gaining levels and have exhausted the "normal" content. You know, I've never understood this whole "Endgame" thing that people always ask for in an MMORPG. How exactly do you "end" a game when it's very nature requires it to be perpetual?
If you really want to be able to "end" your character's career as a hero, Villain, or Praetorian then you really have no further to look than the big red DELETE button.
This mindset also comes from games like WoW, which don't really "begin" until you hit Max Level and start doing raids and other "endgame" content. -

Because most people are just sane enough to realize that someone like Blizzard or SOE (As part of Sony) is going to have one hell of a legal team, and figure it'd be smarter to go after someone they feel wont be able to put up as much of a fight. Once the precident has been set, THEN they can go after the big guns.

Well, as much as I would like to discuss the implications of this, discussions of any game other then City of Heroes/Villains itself has been banned. Such a shame, too, as I would have loved the discussion behind this.
On the other hand, I WOULD like to state that it is perfectly acceptable to discuss non-CoH related gaming news on Paragon Unleashed, the fan forum for CoH/V that includes all the naughty words, gaming news, and partial nudity that one has come to expect from any worthwhile discussion. -

But then the comic would be banned for violating religion bans. But yeah, LiquidX is simply a humanoid figure composed of blue liquid, a big black letter X on his chest, and glowing white eyes. Anything else is simply decoration. (In fact, the original X design never had the circutry patterns)

Plus, it had Ron Wasserman handling the music, and just about every tune he did was solid gold.
See Example A
Example B
Example C
Example D
Example E
And, most importantly, it had THIS.
Say what you will about Mighty Morphing Power Rangers... but you cannot deny that it had one of THE greatest soundtracks and title songs of any TV series, ever. -

Quote:I'd gladly pay you some Gold Pressed Latinum tuesday for some Bregit Lung today.Actually only the United Federation of Planets doesn't use money within its own system, sometimes referred to as "The New Economy".
However, there is such a thing as Federation currency, which they use to buy and sell things with other political entities, such as the Ferengi or the Klingons. Though a lot of the time, they prefer to trade goods and services instead of using money.
Most other worlds outside the Federation still seem to have some form of currency used throughout their economy.
And now you know! -
Quote:Haven't you ever played Shadowrun, or any Cyberpunk style PnP Roleplaying game? Information is always as valuable as cash, if not more so. Sure, you could spend money... but why spend cash when you could blackmail someone with information they don't want others to know, or trade information on rivals to a gangbanger in exchange for new hardware?Ok, as much as I love Going Rogue and Praetoria, can I just say how much I hate "information"? Yes, I know they're trying to tie "influence" and "infamy" together, but come on, bite the bullet and call it SuperCreds or something, already.
I use it to buy stuff. It's money. I don't spend information, I spend currency. (And I have a hard time believing Serge is so hard up for gossip that he'll trade "information" for fabulousness.)

All I do is have it set to "Keep me logged in", and then visit the front page once per day. That's all you need to do, and it takes like five seconds, tops.
