Heyall!
So the past few weeks have been hectic/frantic and my life has undergone quote a few changes, that being said, I will begin working on Tuesday, and probably will work til 8 or 9 every tuesday there after, so I won't be around much if at all. I will however have Mondays off so I can rejoin with a new character for the Next Gen. I'm Thinkin MA/Shield Scrapper (possibly he can be the link to the Police this time?) just a thought there, not necessary. Regardless I'll be in touch through this thread and watch for when the next run starts, and I'll try to make it even if late on Tues.
See Ya,
X

Hey MX, thanks for posting. We will look forward to seeing you again on Mondays when we switch.
As far as a your next toon, from memory I believe this is the current list of what we have so far:
1) Me (formerly scrapper)--will be Rad/Son Def;
2) My wife (formerly defender)--will be Fire/MM Blaster;
3) IC (formerly controller)--will be Stone/War Mace Tank;
4) Dark/Doc (formerly scrapper)--will be Fire/Thermal Controller;
5) Solar (formerly blaster)--will be Emp/Ice Controller
6) MX (formerly blaster)--will be ?
Its up to you, MX, but I think a MA/Shield scrapper would fit fine in that mix and your "concept hook" sounds like it would be perfect!

Happy Birthday?
Mine is tomorrow.

Happy Birthday guys!
Do we just need to take a week off so you guys can celebrate? Just let us know.
Otherwise, me and Liberty are planning on being there tonight. How is everyone else looking? -

Having a thought here, yes I know I shouldn't be doing that. Now the plan is to tie in our new heroes to the existing team as a mentor kinda thing so I'm coming up with a few ideas on what I would like to run. I'm gonna throw them out here and see what leaps at the team for my next hero
Option 1 is a fire/thermal controller
Option 2 is an illusion/sonic controller(may switch sonic secondary to differemt one)
Option 3 elec/elec blaster(concept in mind)
Option 4 fire/ice blaster(think Richard from LFG)
Option 5 shade/PB just because
Option 6 dm/sr scrapper(scrapperlock in effect)
Now my preference is the controller options but I am up for anything listed depending on team needs for damage or control. Now I know we have time til second run but figure to get a feel for the new hero and create him ahead of time.

Here Doc, maybe this will help you make up your mind: here is the bio for my wife's next toon, a fire/mm blaster:
Name: I Q
Real name: Isabella Greyson
Identity: Secret
Occupation: Adventurer, Inventor
Age: 30
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 130 lbs
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black
Actor who resembles character: Lena Headey
Power Sets/AT: Fire/Mental Manipulation Blaster
Origin (Technology): Isabella Greyson is the older sister of the now deceased Ian Greysona.k. Blind Justice. Blind Justice was murdered in a death trap set by Crey Industries during his adventures with the Avengers of Justice. Due to the circumstances surrounding his murder, precious few details regarding Ians death were ever provided for his family. Isabella took matters in her own hands and began her own investigation into her brothers demise.
Eventually, she discovered a secret laboratory/weapons cache that was shared by Solar Tech and Blind Justice. Here, she discovered for the first time her brothers true lifes work. Furthermore, she discovered a data disk which contained a recording of her brothers last moments. At that moment she resolved that she would honor her brothers legacy by continuing the family tradition of super heroics. She also dedicated her life to avenging her kid brother.
After spending months analyzing the inventions of Solar Tech and Blind Justice (and also making some refinements and adjustments based on inventions of her own), Isabella approached Solar Tech and demanded to be made a member of the Avengers of Justice.
Personality Traits: Although a good person at heart, it should be noted that Isabellas primary motivation is avenging her brother rather than a altruistic desire to protect others. Moreover, because of her intelligence, riches and beauty, Isabella can at times be arrogant and headstrong.
Powers and abilities: Isabella has no super powers, but instead employs a myriad of technological devices to aid her in fighting crime. Like her brother, Isabella is a world class inventor with a PhD in engineering along with a mastery of numerous other scientific fields. She is a billionaire thanks to the numerous patents she holds.
Any attempt to comprehensively list the devices she employs would be impossible, as she is constantly modifying her technology. However, she most frequently employs a version of the solar-powered offensive technology devised by Solar Tech. She has also modified her brothers Smart Suit technology to allow her to directly assault the brain waves of her opponents.
Notably, neither Solar Techs battle suit nor her brothers Smart Suit fit her properly, and moreover, she felt constrained wearing any form of armor. Therefore, unlike either Solar Tech or Blind Justice she does not wear a suit of powered armor into battle. Rather, Isabella has miniaturized all of her armaments. Specifically, she has created a lightweight exoskeleton that actually fits beneath any clothes she is wearing. Thus, I Qs costume appears to be little more than her everyday business attire. She also uses a hologram projector to modify her facial features and conceal her identity. -

A functional group of players interested in the game content AND in cool, hero-style RP. Hope you guys have a blast! What a shame I checked this thread so late, I'd make a hero and jump on its tryout asap. Why are these so hard to find?
Meanwhile, in the red side... I stand alone, LFT, having a real hard time finding a group of Villains on similar standards, and dodging yiffing cat-girls on Pocket D.

This response made me wonder if, when we start up the new toons (granted that will be several weeks from now while we enjoy some end-game content with our current toons), we would like to make a push to recruit a few new members to get the static group back up to eight.
I'd be interested to hear everyone's thoughts.
Also, I wanted to remind everyone that mine and Liberty's schedule will be changing in early-April (week of April 6th to be specific!). Is everyone still cool with changing our static night at that time? I believe we discussed changing it to Monday (starting in April, Tues-Thurs. will be out for us--coaching a softball team for our church). Sound okay?
Just let me know! -
For your review, the bio on the first of the "second generation", Bio-Fusion:
Name: Bio-Fusion
Real name: MX-8 (name given to him by Crey); uses the alias Ian Walker since his escape from Crey captivity.
Identity: Secrethis very existence is unknown to the public at large
Occupation: Adventurer; Given the circumstances surrounding his birth, he is currently unable to maintain any gainful employment, and it not even considered a U.S. citizen.
Age: Technically, he is only a few months old. However, due to techniques used by Crey to accelerate his aging, he appears to be approximately 16 years old. The accelerated aging was a temporary effect, and he now ages at a normal rate.
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 160 lbs
Eyes: Brown; glowing green when using powers
Hair: Brown
Actor who resembles character: Thomas Dekker
Power Sets/AT: Radiation/Sonic Defender
Origin (Natural): Bio-Fusion was created by Crey as part of their Revenant Hero Project. At some point, Countess Crey was able to obtain genetic material containing the DNA of the heroes Liberty-Flame and Lightson. Crey Industries used this material in an attempt to create a more advanced and versatile version of the Paragon Protector. The test subject was labeled MX-8". Although the exact meaning of this nomenclature is unknown, it is very similar to the label given the super-hero Mutant X-7 while he was in Crey captivity.
In many respects, the experiment was wildly successful. MX-8's potential power level was virtually immeasurable. After being artificially aged to near adulthood, Crey was surprised that MX-8--unlike other Paragon Protectors--already had personality, memories and a modicum of control over his abilities. Although this marked a breakthrough for Crey, it also meant MX-8 would be much more self-willed and difficult to control than the previous series of Paragon Protectors. For this reason, MX-8's accelerated aging was halted and he was placed in sedation until Crey could devise a means to control him.
Thanks to intel provided by their former teammate Chad Wyrick (aka Doc Midnight ), Liberty-Flame and Lightson learned of Creys evil plot. With the assistance of the other Avengers of Justice, they freed MX-8 from his prison. They were also able to destroy any remnants of their DNA that Crey still had in its possession. After the rescue, the two decided to take in MX-8 as if he was their own child.
Crey has been unable to duplicate the success it had with MX-8. Although unproven, Lightson and Liberty-Flame theorize that the magical nature of Lightsons powers may have effected the success of MX-8's development.
After a period of training, MX-8 adopted the name Bio-Fusion, and became a member of the Avengers of Justice. When not in costume, he goes by Ian Walker, a name given to him by his parents as a tribute to their fallen comrade Blind Justice.
Personality Traits: Much like his father, Bio-Fusion is noble and trustworthy. However, he does not have the leadership traits of Lightson. On the contrary, tends to be relatively soft-spoken like his mother. He is also very loyal and patriotic like his mother. On occasion, he can be moody, a fact attributable to his relative youth and the unusual circumstances surrounding his birth.
Powers and abilities: Bio-Fusion has the ability to tap into a limitless source of potential energy very similar to the light-force that his father wields. He can project this energy in the form of devastating beams of force or heat. Moreover, Bio-Fusion can also exert control over many other types of energy that are part of the electromagnetic spectrum. He can siphon energy from virtually any power source (including draining a living being to weaken them). The applications of this ability are virtually limitless, making Bio-Fusion theoretically very powerful . However, to date Bio-Fusions utilization of his abilities have been fairly limiteda fact attributable to his youth and inexperience.
Bio-Fusion is able to fly and has borderline super-strength. It is estimated he can lift approximately 800 lbs (slightly less that his father, and significantly less than Liberty-Flame). It is unknown whether his is superhumanly resistant to harm. -
First of all, I thought some more about the "next-gen" toons. I really like the idea of tying them to current characters. I also really like the idea of each of us trying a different AT than the one we ran this time through.
Anyway, I finally settled on some characters for me and my wife.
Me--Rad/Sonic Defender, origin will be connected mostly to Liberty and Lightson, with just a tangential connection to MX7.
Wife--Fire/Mental blaster. I decided to go blaster since she is still fairly new to the game. This is first time she will have gotten a toon to 50. So its probably good to still keep it simple for her. I think if we end up doing a "generation three" she will definitely be up for trying something with a few more "moving parts"--like a controller. Anyhoo, I was thinking of making it a tech-based character with ties to Solar and Blynd Justice.
I'll try to post bios for them later if I have time.
In the meantime, here's the next installment of our story.
Issue 11, Piercing the veil, Part II
The story so far: The Avengers of Justice are investigating mysterious goings on in Salamanca. Their first task: remove the Tuatha de Dannan from the sewer system. Before their mission began in earnest, they discovered that another hero had already engaged the Tuatha.
Looks like someone has beaten us to the punch, pun intended, Solar Tech quipped.
Mind if we give you a hand? IC Touch asked the ebon garbed hero.
Not at all, he responded. He had to yell to be heard over the growls of the Tuatha that swarmed around him. Fatigue resonated in his answer. I think I may have bit off more than I can chew . . .
Before the mysterious man could finish, he was surrounded by one of Lightsons force fields. The field immediately threw the nearby Tuatha to the ground. Before they could recover, the creatures were then frozen in their tracks by IC Touch.
You freeze em, I fry em, Solar Tech stated as he targeted a group of reinforcements that was attempting to flank the team.
You mean WE fry em, Liberty-Flame joked as she leapt into the very center of the reinforcements. Her fiery aura crackled as it singed the Tuatha.
As another wave of Tuatha charged at the team, Mutant X-7 exclaimed, You guys dont get to have all the fun . . . Charging the newest group, he yelled, HERE COMES THE BOOM!! A tremendous explosion of energy and electricity followed, dispatching most of the third wave. The mysterious stranger in black took care of the few that remained conscious.
You guys finish arresting this crew, Ill scout ahead and make sure thats the last of them, the Directrix said, If I find any more Ill give a shout on the comm.
Uh, isnt she the only one of you without powers? Should she really be going off on her own like that? the stranger asked.
Actually shes the only one we let go off like that, Lightson answered, lets just say she has a way of holding things down until backup arrivespowers or no. But, we seem to be at a disadvantage, you obviously know a bit about us, yet we dont even know your name yet . . .
Dark-Omen. And anyone who watches the news knows at least a bit about the Avengers of Justice . . . he responded.
Really? Thats cool . . . Solar-Tech muttered to himself.
So, Lightson continued, Im guessing you took it upon yourself to assist Mayor Bower with the Tuatha?
Yeah, Dark Omen said, I didnt need any debriefing from the mayor to track the furry mutts here.
Well we could use a little help getting to the bottom of all this, care to join us for the time being, Lightson queried.
Just like that? Why would you trust me so quickly? Dark Omen replied.
Its hard to explain, but you already remind us of an old friend. The rest of the team nodded in agreement as Lightson provided this answer.
Besides, if you try anything silly behind our backs well just sick the one without powers on you. Your head wont be right for weeks, IC Touch added, only half-jokingly.
I think weve cleared this place out, the Directrix added as she approached from the opposite direction she had left from. I circled around and didnt find anything. Lets report back to the mayor.
Later:
Thank you, the Mayor said with gratitude, I don't mind telling you, until you showed up I wasn't sure I had a prayer of saving Salamanca. Now, I know there's at least a chance. But theres still more work to be done. A contact of mine, Skipper LaGrange, thinks Salamanca is being pulled into the spirit world. I wish I could dismiss it as the ramblings of a kid who's seen too many episodes of the X-Files, but this Skipper... well, I've learned to trust him. Will you go see if Skipper can help us deal with this new menace? Skipper's a weird kid, but sincere. Take anything he tells you seriously.
Were one it, Mr. Mayor, the Directix answered.
To be continued . . . -

If you need a hand with this let me know, I can make a Beacon Hunting toon for ya and grind you out prestige for the SG with an alt since I seem to still be addicted to this game.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you don't mind doing that, it would be great. After looking at the prestige we get during each week's run, I don't think I will have enough to have TP's up and running for our new toons unless I have a little help.
Thanks! -
And here's Liberty-Flame's bio:
Name: Liberty-Flame
Real name: Elizabeth Moore
Identity: Secret
Occupation: Adventurer, Scientist employed by project S.O.L.A.R.
Age: 34
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 150 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Actor who resembles character: Jennifer Connelly
Power Sets/AT: Fire/Willpower Scrapper
Origin (Science): Elizabeth Moore is a highly patriotic scientist working on the S.O.L.A.R. (Soldier Optimization and Longevity Amplification Research) project. The project is designed to enhance the performance of soldiers by exposing them to various energy fields. Just as she was on the verge of a breakthrough, Crey Industries (who had been monitoring her progress the eyes of a double agentBryson Walker; Bryson eventually reformed and became Lightson) sabotaged her laboratory. The explosion caused by this sabotage, caused her to be exposed to her own experiments, which were theoretically not ready for human testing. Nonetheless, Elizabeth became the firstand onlyfully successful project S.O.L.A.R. test subject . Specifically, her exposure increased her physical prowess and gave her limited pyrokinetic abilities.
Soon after becoming Liberty-Flame, Elizabeth became a founding member of the Avengers of Justice.
Although she was initially distrustful of Brysons sudden conversion, she is now involved in a romantic relationship with Lightson.
Personality Traits: Elizabeth is patriotic, although she tends to be relatively soft-spoken. She is dedicated to her research and is still very much a bookworm. Although brave and loyal, she tends to be more of a follower than a leader.
Powers and abilities: Exposure to the project S.O.L.A.R. energies has granted Liberty-Flame superhuman strength and invulnerability. It is estimated she can lift at least 20 tons. The upper extent of her invulnerability is unknown, but at the very least she is capable of surviving: impacts of great strength and force; puncture wounds; corrosives; and extreme temperatures and pressures without sustaining damage. She is also able to withstand gunfire from high caliber weapons as well as armor piercing roundsassuming they reach her (see below). Her highly advanced musculature generates fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity, granting her superhuman levels of stamina. Likewise, Liberty-Flames recovery time from physical trauma is significantly greater than that of a normal human.
Moreover, Liberty-Flame also has the power of pyrokinesis, which enables her to mentally excite the atoms in an object until it spontaneously combusts. By using her powers to ignite the air around her, she can surround herself with an aura of flames. This further increases her resistance to harm, because the plasma field immediately surrounding her body is sufficiently hot to vaporize projectiles that approach her, including but not limited to bullets. She also uses this ability offensively, to increase the potency of her already powerful attacks.
Furthermore, if she focuses her flames downwards in a tight stream, she can propel herself through the air.
The range of her pyrokinesis is very limited, however. To date, she has only been able to set ablaze objects that are within her arms reach.
Under the tutelage of The Directrix, Liberty-Flame has greatly improved her hand-to-hand combat skills.
Liberty-Flame is one of the top physicists and biologists in the country, having a doctorate in both fields. -
It might be helpful as I write if you each would post something like the following so I will know more about your character. If you don't have time or feel like it, no worries--I'll just keep writing your character like I always have. Let me know if you would like me to do this for your character and I will.
Feel free to post something like this for your new toons as well. We had talked about going for some sort of theme. If we don't come with something else, I'm planning on considering my new toons as new members of the Avengers of Justice--sorta expanding the team from the "Justice League" to "Justice League Unlimited." I'll probably to think of some way to personally connect my new toon to my old one as well.
Anyhoo, here you go:
Name: Lightson
Real name: Bryson Walker
Identity: Secret
Occupation: Adventurer, Physician. Former double agent for Crey Industries, now employed exclusively as a physician for project S.O.L.A.R.
Age: 33
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 180 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Actor who resembles character: Matthew Fox
Power Sets/AT: Force-Field/Energy Defender
Origin (Magic): Bryson Walker was a materialistic and prideful doctor. His whole world revolved making much of himself, and making even more of his bank account. Thats why his first job out of med school was with Crey Industriesthey paid the best. On the way up, he learned some of Creys dirtier secrets. His most recent job had him posing as a doctor examining the animal test subjects of a military research project (S.O.L.A.R. or Soldier Optimization and Longevity Amplification Research) and reporting his findings back to Crey. However, when news reached him that they were going to bomb S.O.L.A.R.s facilities to halt its progress he was unwilling to participate, mostly because he had become attached to another scientist at the projectElizabeth Moore.
This unwillingness made him expendable, however. Crey sabotaged his car, intending to cause Brysons death. The events after the resulting accident are hazy: Was he unconscious? Was he only near death? Or was he actually dead for a brief moment? Bryson will never really know. He just remembers being blinded by a brilliant light and being asked by an angelic being : Bryson Walker you are fallen, you have been a force for darkness in this world, I can make you a force for light . . . do you accept?
YesI do, he answered. He was immediately bathed in a mysterious luminescent energy force. Lightson was born.
Soon after becoming Lightson, Bryson Walker became a founding member of the Avengers of Justice. Along with The Directrix, he serves as unofficial leader of the group.
He is now involved in a romantic relationship with Elizabeth Walker (Liberty-Flame).
Personality Traits: Prior to becoming a hero, he was selfish and shallow. After his transformation into Lightson, Bryson has become noble, level-headed and trustworthy. Although he has a sense of humor, it is often overshadowed by his attempts to atone for his previous lifestyle. As a result he can often come across as unemotional, methodical and pragmatic to a fault. Nonetheless, his ability to quickly assess difficult situations make him a natural leader.
Powers and abilities: After accepting Bryson was granted the ability to manipulate a mysterious light/energy force. He can use this light-force offensively to project beams of concussive force. Defensively, he can utilize the light-force to create tangible force fields which shield his allies.
The light-force also enables Lightson to fly.
The energies now coursing through Brysons body have granted him limited super-strength and resistance to harm. It is estimated he can lift approximately 1 ton, and could possibly withstand low caliber bullets without harm.
He has developed into a formidable tactician during battle, and his medical background makes him a fair combat medic. Bryson is an expert in the field of genetics and mutations, thanks to his work for both Crey Industries and the government. -
A couple of you mentioned that during the end game we were kinda flying through stuff and not focusing too much on RP at all. Me and Liberty probably won't RP much while on Skype--just not our thing--but I will try to post the ongoing story more frequently.
My goal is to post more often, with shorter "issues." So here you go:
Issue Ten: Piercing the Veil, Part One
UPDATED ROLL CALL:
Active Roster:
1) Liberty-Flame (Fire/WP Science Scrapper): Pyrokinetic melee dynamo;
2) Lightson (FF/ENG Magic Defender): Wielder of the amazing light-force;
3) Solar Tech (Fire/ENG Tech Blaster): Aging genius whose technology harnesses the power of the Sun;
4) The Directrix (Mind/Sonic Natural Controller): Police negotiator extraordinaire with uncanny abilities of persuasion;
5) Mutant X-7 (Energy/Electric Mutant Blaster): Mutant manipulator of kinetic energy and electricity; and
6) IC Touch (Ice/Empathy Mutant Controller): Powerful mutant cryokinetic
Reserve Members:
Doc Midnight: Founding member whose secret identity was discovered by Crey. He has now gone underground and is no longer an active member of the team.
The Fallen:
Blind Justice: Killed in action in a death trap set by Crey.
Burnt Sacrifice: Missing in action, presumed captured or killed by Crey.
************************************************** ****************************
The story so far: After helping the police isolate a mysterious outbreak, several of Paragon's newest heroes banded together to form the Avengers of Justice!!! Although the machinations of Crey have had a dramatic effect on the teams roster, they continue to persevere. After rescuing IC Touch from the clutches of Crey Industries, the team was now investigating strange goings on in Salamanca
The team assembled in the Salamanca city hall, awaiting the arrival of Gordon Bower.
So, D, whats the story with this Bower guy? Solar Tech asked.
Well, you might say Gordon Bower inherited the family business. His father, Tom Bower, was mayor of Salamanca for more than thirty years. Gordons dad spearheaded most of the projects that turned the community into a peaceful tourist resort. From the limited intel Ive received so far, it seems like Gordon now has some problems that are over his head . . .
Gordon Bower entered the debriefing room before The Directrix could finish, Indeed I do. My home is in trouble. I hope you can help me save it.
Dont worry, the PPD has officially requested that the Avengers of Justice to investigate the situation. Well do everything we can, The Directrix replied.
So, Lightson interjected, bring us up to speed Mayor Bower.
Simply put, Gordon responded, the town is being overrun by supernatural creatures known as the Tuatha de Dannan. They're the most hideous creatures I've ever seen. Heres a picture, he added as he slipped a folder across the table towards them.
Ugly as sin, Solar Tech blurted after looking at the picture, but I bet they still burn.
If not, I bet they freeze, IC Touch added with a grin.
These guys kinda remind me of my dog, Mutant X-7 observed.
Yes, well, Gordon continued, They seem to like the water; we have a hard time keeping them out of the village fountain, and we've all but given up trying to root them out of the sewers. That's where I hope you can help us. Can you remove the Tuatha de Dannan from the village sewer system?
Were on it, Lightson indicated.
Freakin sewers, again, Liberty-Flame mumbled to herself.
The team arrived minutes later at the entrance to the sewer system. Lead the way, Liberty, Lightson said as he gestured with his hand.
My pleasure, Liberty-Flame responded sarcastically.
Soon thereafter, the team heard the din of battle just ahead of them. Over the roar of combat, inhuman voices could be heard grumbling, we will take Salamanca! and the Tuatha must rule all this land! As they turned a corner, the Avengers of Justice saw that the Tuatha had already been engaged by another costumed adventurer.
Looks like someone has beaten us to the punch, pun intended, Solar Tech quipped.
Mind if we give you a hand? IC Touch asked the ebon garbed hero.
Not at all, he responded. Fatigue resonated in his answer. I think I may have bit off more than I can chew . . .
To be continued . . . -
First of all, let me just repeat that its been a blast the last couple of weeks being on skype.
You guys have me excited on two fronts now. I'm really excited about seeing some of the end game stuff on the way to 50, but I'm also looking forward to rolling some new toons and doing it all again!
Just so we can keep track, if Dat changes his mind on the emp, either me or my wife would probably give that a try. Otherwise, my wife will almost definitely roll a blaster--probably Son/MM--and I'm leaning toward either a Rad/Rad Defender or Ill/Rad Controller. There's a slim chance I might get a wild hair and try out a Peacebringer for the first time, but probably not.
Guess that just leaves Dark/Doc and MX. -
[ QUOTE ]
Last night was a good time, having everyone on skype was way cool.
Looking foward to next week already.
I'm on board for starting a new team when we reach 50!
[/ QUOTE ]
Me too, it was great to be up and running on Skype!
After we get these guys to 50, what do we want to do with the new toons? Do all the TF's again? Focus more on story arcs? Anybody want to call dibs on a new AT? Just curious . . .
I'm in no hurry though, this is the best look I've gotten at "end game" content since I've played CoH and I'm really enjoying it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Sounds like a plan.
I have a few contacts lined up for other missions also.
I think our last few steps to 50 are all planned out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Along the lines of planning out the last steps to 50, I have been working on our SG base.
Right now its very basic. It only has a med bay (so you can choose to rez there instead of hospital) and vault access.
My goal is to have a full set of teleport beacons ready for "Avengers of Justice--the second generation", but a lot of that will depend on how much prestige we earn between now and then.
And yeah, I do plan on continuing the AOJ storyline in some way at some point--just been really busy in real life lately.
Looking forward to tonight! -
Hey guys, just wanted to thank IC and Dark for setting up the AV mishes for us the last couple of weeks.
Looking forward to more of the same tomorrow! -
[ QUOTE ]
All good there, I know all too well about emergencies that come up. The Countess Arc may take multiple sessions to do but should be fun if the group wants as I also have PCK on deck and will be starting another contact to do their arc as well, so options are there.
[/ QUOTE ]
That all sounds good!
What level would be good for me and Liberty to be at by next Tuesday? Would 40 do it or should we shoot for 41?
Looking forward to the next run. -
[ QUOTE ]
Ok what is the plan for this Tuesday?
I will log on tonight and get some contacts ready, we are close enough that we could start running AV missions.
Need to know if this is ok with everyone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Doing AV missions is fine with me and Liberty--it sounds like fun.
However, we will have to miss this week. We are just getting back from a vacation and we need to pick up our doggies from the "grandparents."
We'll join you again next week ready to track down some AV's! -
Nice job everyone on finishing the Numina TF last Tuesday. I don't know what it was, but that TF seemed like more of a grind than others. I still had fun, but I was glad to be wrapping it up.
We decided to try the Imperious Task Force (ITF) starting next Tuesday (Jan. 20). Here's a link:
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Imperious_Task_Force
We will need 6 to start it, and you need to be at least level 35. The TF is in Cimerora. You get to Cimerora through the Midnighter Club. To enter the Midnighter Club you need to complete this story arc ("Lost and Found"):
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Montag...ella#Story_Arc
We did the Lost and Found story arc as a team at one point, so I think most of us should have already completed it.
See you Tuesday, looking forward to it! -
[ QUOTE ]
Are we set to finish the TF tonight?
[/ QUOTE ]
Good question.
Solar-Tech has said he will be iffy most of the night.
Me and Liberty are planning on being there.
I'm guessing D is good to go as usual. Haven't heard from MX or IC
That's only three definites and we are only one mish away from having to face an AV. Last week I definitely caused some frustration by trying to make progress when only three were logged in (sorry again about that by the way).
Liberty and I will plan on logging in and we'll play it by ear when we see who all is present. We actually have been fighting colds, so we would be fine with taking a week off. Course we would also like to finish this TF, so we are good either way.
As for other stuff, two people suggested we tackle AV story archs in PI next. That sounds fun and works for me. I've never done any of those before, so would someone else mind "being the leader" for a while? Also, I would like to try the the Imperious TF at some point too if everyone else is cool with that. That TF requires 6, so it should be doable as we are currently constituted. Finally, at some point between 40-44 I hope we do the "Arrest Countess Crey" story arch from Janet Kellum.
Also, D mentioned the Shard TF's. They are long, but a group like this might be good for that, as we can park in the TF until we are done. I hope at some point we can get our numbers back up to 8 so we could try those. Another TF that requires 8 that I have never tried but would like to is the Statesman TF. Any suggestions for boosting our numbers?
Finally, I'll respond to a few things Solar threw out. First, I believe the consensus is to get these toons to 50 before switching. Let me know if I am wrong.
Real life stuff would probably make it hard for me to add another night (that's partly why I formed the static group in the first place--I wanted to still be able to tackle group content even though my time was limited), but if that's what the group wants to do I don't want to hold that up. -
Oh, and in addition to what we want to do in the future--do we want to try to finish the Numina TF before next Tuesday?
Me and Liberty could do tonight, Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening as long as we knew to block out the time before hand. -
Hey guys, sorry that last few runs have been a little rough around the edges.
It probably shouldn't take us too long to finish the Numina TF (crosses fingers) since we only have two mishes left.
After that we will have finished the six "taskforce commander" TF's and most of us should be somewhere around level 39-40. I think we agreed to keep using these toons until we got them to level 50 at least. As a personal aside, I am looking forward to rolling a new toon. Although I like my character concept, FF/ENG is just lacking a little "umph" for my playstyle. There are times I feel like I'm not actively helping the team a whole lot. I still want to get the character to 50 though.
At any rate, my question is: what do we want to do for the last 10-11 levels? Here is a link to list of TF to give everyone some ideas:
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Task_Forces
Of course, we could also do story arcs. Everybody please throw out some preferences.
Also, it seems like work schedules have changed for a number of you. Considering this, and the fact that we just started a new year, I'm wondering if now would be a good time to re-assess the day/time we meet? I would especially like to hear from the people who had to drop because of schedule changes.
Whatcha think? -

I will be a little late tonight, Mom's last night in town.
I should be only an hour late, but not sure.
See you all tonight.

Everybody else good for finishing Numina tonight? Me and Liberty-Flame will be there--looking forward to it. -

I will be there tomorrow night!!
Ready for whatever.
[/ QUOTE ]
Lightson and Liberty-Flame will be there tonight too. I am leaning towards starting the Numina TF (assuming we have enough people logged on), but I'm open to any other suggestions.
See you tonight! -
What would we like to do for our next run?
Start Numina TF?
Farm winter event mish?
Something else?
Whatcha think team? -

Wow, starring role for D. Nice! She's like the Oscar to the rest of the team's Steve Austin. Well done, Lightson.

Nice Six Million Dollar Man reference.
Also, is everyone still good with finishing the Gordon Stacy story arc tomorrow night? We are pretty close to the end of the arc (two more mishes I believe). We will get 8 merits for this arc.
After that we could:
1) Continue running other story mishes;
2) Run some bank mishes to get the 35-40 safeguard bonus power (health increase);
3) Start the Numina TF (27 merits); or
4) something else altogether that I haven't thought of.
Please feel free to express your preferences!
Also--Doc, just FYI, even if everyone shows up we do not have a full eight, so you are welcome to join us whenever you are available.
P.S.--For those of you wondering about what the merit rewards for various TF/story arcs are, they are listed here:

IX. Issue Nine: Rebuilding, Part II
The story so far: After experiencing a series of tragic setbacks at the hands of Crey, the Avengers of Justice must rebuild their numbers. The first step in the rebuilding effort: a daring rescue operation based on information provided by an old friend.
. . . so thats the plan team, Lightson concluded, Questions? Comments?
So basically, Solar Tech quipped, you want us to illegally break into a laboratory controlled by our arch-nemesis?
You forgot, Mutant X-7 added, that the lab will likely be crawling with security, and that Crey has a history of being a step ahead of us.
Right, Solar Tech responded, In that caseIm in.
Yeah, me too, Mutant X-7 continued, I know how it feels to be locked in a cage like a lab rat. No one deserves that. Lets get those guys out of there.
D? Liberty? Lightson asked.
Officially, The Directrix answered, Crey is a legitimate corporation and we have no concrete evidence of their wrongdoing. Accordingly, as an official representative of the Paragon Police Department, I cannot sanction this sort of vigilantism. Unofficially, why else did we don the capes if we cant right wrongs like this. Lets bust them out and untangle the red tape later.
Well, at least this time the trap we are walking into is in a sterile lab instead of a rancid sewer, Liberty-Flame said as she exchanged a glance with Lightson, you know Im with you Bry . . . Lightson.
All right then, its unanimous. Make your preparations, well depart within the hour, Lightson said.
Later, at the Crey Research Facility:
Alright, is everyone ready? Lightson asked. Remember, we have two objectives. First and foremost we want to rescue those hostages. The secondary objective is to obtain as much evidence and information as possible about this project. We want to keep engagement with Crey at a minimumtechnically were the lawbreakers here. Best case scenario we get in and out with the two mutants without Crey even knowing . . .
Given our track record with being stealthy why do I have feeling that the final outcome might be a notch or two below best case scenario, Solar Tech added, mostly to himself.
Well, weve still got to give a shot, The Directrix added, Much as I hate to admit it, Lightsons right. Weve got nothing solid on Crey. As far as the law is concerned the Avengers of Justice are breaking and entering into a legitimate research facility. If any publicity gets out on this, I could lose my jobif Im not thrown in jail first.
I know its true, but if I have to hear one more time that Crey is a legitimate business in the eyes of the law, I think Im gonna be sick, Mutant X-7 interjected, lets just get on with it.
So be it, Lightson replied, Solar . . . work your magic
You got it boss, Solar Tech said with a nod. Okay, Im in their system. My battle suit is analyzing Creys files . . . . Nothing yet . . . just a sec . . . wait . . . something on Revenant Hero Project . . . Got it! This has to be it: I found a file in the Revenant Hero Project folder talking about where Mr. Black and Mr. Blue are receiving their voluntary treatment. The files make it all sound legitimatesigned waivers and everythingbut thats got to be them. On the top floor . . . right . . . THERE! I found a access point from the roof. Now, let me just shut door Creys security system. Done!
Great work Solar Tech The Directrix stated.
Indeed, now download all the information on this Revenant Hero Project to your battle suit and then well head for the roof. Lightson added.
On it, Solar Tech answered, wait, whats this? The files are being deleted . . . huh? Aw crap, Creys encryption is not quite as archaic as I thought. They know Im in the system, and they are trying to lock me out. Dont know how much data Im going to get . . . give me a moment . . . Blast, no good! And it gets worsetheyve triangulated our position. They are going to be on us in seconds . . .
D, MX, Solarhold the position here, distract them as long as possible. Liberty, youre with me on the roof, Lightson belted out.
Just after Lightson and Liberty-Flame flew off a squad of Crey agents came streaming out of the research facility.
Remember guys, The Directrix said, we want to keep a low profile here. Follow my lead and dont engage them until its absolutely necessary.
When the Crey operatives were in earshot, The Directrix continued, Agents of Crey, I dont know why you serve this corrupt corporation. Maybe its the money, or the prestige, or perhaps they have blackmailed you. Your reasons are your own. But how many of you know what they do in that building, what they REALLY do? How many of you know just how evil your employer truly is . . .
Meanwhile, on the roof:
Looks clear so far, Liberty-Flame stated as she and Lightson landed on the roof.
Just as she finished her statement, Lightson barely noticed two uniformed, helmet clad-figures dressed in blue and yellow streaking towards Liberty-Flame. Lightson had heard of them before, they were the heavy hitters of Countess Creys shock troops: Paragon Protectors.
Liberty! Two oclock! Heads up! Lightson generated a force field around Liberty-Flame just as one of the Protectors slashed at her with claws that extended from his knuckles. The other Paragon Protector flanked her and was blasting away with powerful energy beams. Unfortunately for the Protectors, Lightsons force field held.
Our turn, Liberty-Flame said with a grin. As she spoke, the roof around her began to sizzle and melt. In the next instant, a wave of heat emanated out from her body setting both Protectors ablaze. She then quickly spun around, and pummeled the energy projector with a series of punches. Thinking her unprotected, the clawed Protector raised both handspreparing to dig both sets of claws into Liberty-Flames back.
Not so fast, my friend . . . Lightson said as he blasted the clawed Protector. The Protector flailed his limbs helplessly in the air as the force of the blast threw him from the roof. Happy landings, Lightson remarked as the Protector plummeted to the ground. He then assisted Liberty-Flame in defeating the other Protector. Although the battle was long, the energy projector eventually succumbed to the flurry of light-force blasts and super-strong, searing hot punches.
Looks like you guys have things under control up here, Solar Tech said as he emerged from the roof access point. The mutant known as IC Touch had one arm wrapped around Solar Techs shoulder and was leaning on him for support. IC Touch was obviously conscious, although not completely alert.
We wrapped up down there, thought we would see if you needed a hand, The Directrix added, Weve freed both hostages . . .
Good workbut how did you guys handle Creys security so quickly? Lightson asked.
D got most of them to surrender. Actually, some of them helped us set these guys free. The ones that werent so cooperative either got the char-broiled or bug-zapper treatmentdepending on whether they were closer to me or Solar, Mutant X-7 answered. The unconscious Ghost Wrath was draped over Mutant X-7's shoulders in a firemans carry.
A few unfortunates in the middle got both treatments . . . poor things, Solar Tech added with a chuckle.
All the same, lets get out of here. Reinforcements could be on the way any second, and those two dont look like they will be up for a fight anytime soon, Lightson replied . . .
Epilogue: Mission Debrief between Lightson and The Directrix
So far, not a peep in the press about our rescue operation. Guess Crey has decided not to go public, The Directrix said.
Understandably so, considering what could come to light if the press started digging around, Lightson replied.
True. Unfortunately, Solar Tech wasnt able to download any hard evidence against Crey, either. They deleted any incriminating files when they detected him in their system, The Directrix noted, and the employees I convinced to turn on Crey were all low to mid levelthey dont know any of Creys darker secrets.
Well, at least we made it out there with IC and Ghost. Whats the latest with them? Lightson asked.
Well, they are both still traumatized. And both are still experiencing some amnesia, so its hard to know how and why Crey targeted them. Under the circumstances, I didnt want to hit them with the recruiting pitch right away. I think both of them will be fine, eventually, The Directrix answered.
Thats good. If they are up to it, Ill invite them to assist on our next mission. Seeing them in action will give us an idea if they are a good fit for the team or not, Lightson said, Speaking of which, have you heard of anything in the PPD that might need looking into?
Actually, the mayor of Salamanca is reporting some odd goings on. The Directrix stated.
Well then, it looks like weve got our next mission, Lightson responded.
To be continued . . .
