  1. It happened because some people wanted to post arcs under their global names, not character names. Since global names do not have e-mail accounts, it because impossible to send e-mail after that and they had to switch to tells.

I do not think this was a good idea. They crippled the feedback function in order to make a VERY minor QOL change.
  2. Comments by e-mail was IMO FAR superior to tells. It worked perfectly.

The only way they could have improved on it would be to reuse the "complaints" system so it could be used for comments. Instead they backslid to using global tells. The only bad choice devs made during beta, IMO.
  3. I'm also not confident that all feedback is being sent or recieved properly.

35 plays on my arc, and I have only recieved feedback from other EU players while I was online. I have not recieved any offline feedback at all, and I have not recieved any feedback from Americans.

It is of course possible that people just haven't been commenting on my arc, and that's fair enough, but it feels suspicious to me. Unfortunately I won't be able to test unless my US account is activated on a free weekend or something.

Thanks for the suggestions. Just leveling a char on Union to lvl6 so i can farm enough tickets to unlock the maps i need for the arc.

    Thanks guys 'n gals.

Once you unlock a map, costume or enemy group on any server, you can immediately use it on any server with any character. They're account based, not character based.
  5. If you go to your list of "Published arcs" and click on an arc, you can see the option to Edit an arc.

Do this and you edit the arc currently on the live server, not the one on your machine. Instead of saving, you have the option to Republish, which uploads the edited arc. You retain your arc ID and your votes this way.
  6. Costume change emotes? YES PLEASE.
  7. whats the command line to skip the updater? I've already updated, but it can't connect and I can't try logging in
  8. Well, the updater is running again, but login is still down.
  9. They also can't let trial accounts publish because it's an ideal place to put "buy inf now" messages. One posting that advertises equally on all servers worldwide, and stays up until a GM catches it? The unrated missions in the mission browser would be swamped in spam.
  10. Aaa, why did I press "Quit" after not being able to log in. Now I can't get past the updater.
  11. Now the login server is down, or so hammered by impatient people like me it means the same thing. :P
  12. The big question is... when it does come up, who's going to get the lowest arc id?
  13. So you can login and get to the character select screen, but...

You guys are cruel. But fair. But still cruel.

Well they were red when I looked.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They were Green, Yellow, Green, Green, Green for me a mo ago but seem to have gone back to all red bar Test.

Didn't mean to ServerStatusRoll you, honest, I just went on the pretty lights.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I forgive you, they're showing as green yellow green green green for me too now.

Still can't get in though. Ah well.
  15. Well they were red when I looked.

According to that Server Status link sent earlier in this thread the servers are back up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Curse you, why don't you just Rickroll me too?
  17. I thought this was going to be about the fact we don't have a MA forum yet.

I guess we'll need to keep using the open beta one for a while. I'd hate to drown Creative.

    This bit caught my eye:

We did the math: if everyone in the in the game made three mission arcs and maxed out their file size for stuff we would store 9GB on the server.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I did my own math and I make that 30,000 subscribers. Am I out of touch or does that sound low?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm guessing you arrived at that number on the basis that each player needs 300KB of space to hold 3 arcs? I doubt that's true, they're probably compressed on the server.

Compressed to a RAR file, one of my arcs which is 119KB in Windows Explorer shrinks to 12KB.
  19. Absolutely need it, as it'll make recreating the costume of my GW Mesmer (something I've always wanted to do!) in CoH much easier.
  20. Up to 24 players can attempt to change the lightbulb, but their only chance to do so was between late September and October 11th 2006.
  21. First order of business is publishing my arcs, with minor changes to account for not having some costume pieces unlocked yet.

Second... probably play my blaster from 39 to 40 through MA arcs. I've not played her since beta started and she's due it!
  22. The game is balanced around one player being able to change three lightbulbs at once.
  23. 3 to demand that the lightbulb changing be reset whenever someone new joins the team.
4 to demand that the lightbulb changing be reset whenever someone new joins the team.
5 to demand that the lightbulb changing be reset whenever someone new joins the team.
6 to demand that the lightbulb changing be reset whenever someone new joins the team.
7 to demand that the lightbulb changing be reset whenever someone new joins the team...
  24. That sounds interesting, I'd give it a shot.
