  1. It's greedy to want decent sets? Then I guess most are greedy by your definition....and those who use purples (I have none) must be total monsters to you! And I assume then you don't use io's?

It's greedy to sell 80 percent of my stuff for a buck at the market?

And most of what else you said barely seems to apply to this thread.....so I am going to claim victory here!

P.S. Calling people stupid in the forums in against the rules! (don't worry, i won't report you tho...cause i admire your passion!) Careful....learn to insult without calling people names! Alot of people, myself included, are good at that.....read some threads and you'll get the hang of it!

    Peace!

Good point...tho making regular merits is not my bag...I don't TF, which is the best way I assume...??? Certain arcs and what not too, but my last 50 had about 60 merits by the time he got to lvl 50 and weeks after, so you can see that way isn't for me. lol

You know what, as long as their are greedy players that want all the inf in the world in their pockets, you will always need a ton of cash!! I read sooooo often in this section of the forum... ' if people are dumb enough to pay so much for an IO, I am gonna sell it to them'. Are they helping to cut the prices in the market?? Don't seem like it to me.

I craft the real explensive io's, the not so expensive ones I buy crafted if they are available. Why should I wait for low bids on every single IO I want to come through?? I just pay what I have to to get them, so I can get on with life. Like I said, I pretty much hate the Marketplace...so why visit every day to see if my io's have been bought, just to save a few bucks??

Unfortunately my friend, I would think there are wayyyy more "Iwantitnoa" attitudes out there, especially with inf being easier than ever to make, then there is Iwillbidlowandsitbackandwait attitudes! Sorry, I don't have that kind of patience, I just play to smash things, not sit in the auction house or by a crafting table.....I don't care how much pretend video game money I have to spend....at least now that I can earn it with relative ease. I never was a crafter in any game I played, and that will not change....I want action, not auction!

Just how I play this game....... you can play however you want.....it's all good!

And as far as the market prices getting nuts....blame the devs, not people like me or even the marketeers who will manipulate the market to get more delicious inf in their pockets. Especially don't blame me personally, I'm the guy that throws most of my junk up for a buck, to dump it quick! At least now that A-merits are all I need to keep my bank account high enough for my tastes.....So I am helping to lower costs, not raise them by gouging people. The Devs make it easier and easier to make inf, so of course the greedy will try to take as much of it as they can off people like me. And people like me, who just want to shoot things, will pay it, so we can get back to our missions. That's life....in games and outside my house!

Why you are in my thread arguing with anyone is beyond me....??? I was just making clear that anyone can make a decent amount of inf with the a-merits...since some still don't know it! Which you have already backed up in your posts, listing it as a way to make inf....so why the heck are we disputing anything here?? lol

    Peace!

Delicious candy!!!! lol You get them if you have Going Rogue and by running tip missions with a lvl 20 or higher toon....Hero or Villian tip missions, not Rogue or Vigilante. It's all in the Going Rogue part of the Forum. You trade A-merits for IO recipes. Can make a ton of cash, or slowly IO out a toon without spending anything, except salvage costs.

    Cheers, welcome back!

And some of the other ways of obtaining those "shinies" are tickets, regular reward merits and a-merits.
I don't want to come off as rude, but you said A-merits....which is all my post was about, so where are we not seein eye to eye here?? We seem to agree on everything, yet not at all! lol

And you do need cash, how would one get a few LotG Global recharge io's, let alone over a dozen other complete sets of any kind, with the cash they'd make just playing the game? Again, just playing the game meaning without using any of the ways you suggest to earn inf.....just by "simply playin the game and selling their junk" as someone said....this is all assuming a newer player may not know the better ways, or care for them....like crafting.....I can't stand crafting and selling. The less time I spend in the market the better and many feel the same way I am sure. Or crafted IO's would never sell. Personally, I don't want to have 50 bids on the market, waiting to get lucky to IO out my toons, I want to earn inf and buy them, now! lol So my preferred method is exactly what my opening post explains.

So to quote an old commercial.... where's the beef?

Does that break it down enough for you. Damn it Jim, I'm doctor, not a scientist.
Oh and you said "they were given other means to get these shinies", ummmm, like doing what I describe in my original post?? So why you poopin on my super awesome guide? lol

Alot of newer players may be wondering why everyone is rich but them..... I (and I am sure others before me) have shown them one way, in case they were unaware.
  7. Oh! And good point Jim....I hardly ever, and I mean ever play my 50's, since there is no real end game content....at least none that is any different than the rest of the game. So I mainly play toons I am leveling. Probably explains why I haven't got many purples, but also solidifies my statement, that it is hard for folks like me, and I am assuming Jim, to make lots'o'cash! (mostly leveling toons, not grinding away on 50's.)

And before people say Incarnates are coming, incarnates are coming!!!!!!! I see that whole thing as end game grinding and crafting.....not end game content! yes, 2 TF's....which I may never even see, since my daily play time is limited and interuptable.

I have got several toons from 1 to 50, playing the game "simply". By that I mean, no PL'in, no farming, no marketeering and no exploiting.....and no, not one has ended up with enough inf to IO himself completely out, not even close....except maybe to frankenslot. If you are saying you can do what I just described and deck out your toon at 50 with 'decent" sets, solely with the income that toon generated on the way to 50...then you must be a lucky man when it comes to drops. Oh, and I rarely do tf's as well.

Considering I bought 5 complete and mediocre sets for a scrapper the other day.....and spent 250mil doing it, I would say good luck making enough to deck out a toon by "simply" playing and selling your loot!

But then again, like I said, some people are just that lucky! I am not one of them! I have had about 3 purple drops since they were created.
  9. Jim...... I know! I played the game and sold my stuff for years, and only ever managed to io out 1 toon with decent sets. Unless your heavily farming or doing many tf's, just playing the game and selling your stuff ain't gonna cut it. Maybe if you get many real lucky drops, maybe. Now thanks to a-merits tho, I finally have a nice bank account. Still can't purple out a toon, but can get some decent sets now on any toon I want!

I haven't agreed with the direction of this game in general the last couple years....but the a-merit system was a winner for me!
  10. Exactly! I can't craft! It drives me nuts. I only craft high cost stuff, and buy the not too expensive stuff already crafted if I can find it! So everyone has a purpose! Maybe I can pay you to craft for me? Lol

I make my inf this way, then hand it to you! Like you said, everybody wins!
  11. K, my guide is mind numbingly simple compared to most!

    - Get 3 or 4 (or however many u want) toons over lvl 20.
    - get them invis powers, or use toons with their own invis powers. (ATM I use 3 toons for this....a 33 I'll/rad, a 28 ma/nin stalker and a 38 bane. All quick killers to boot, but use whatever you want, as long as you get invis.)
    - set difficulty to -1/0.
    - spend 20 minutes or so a day, per toon, doing hero or villain tip missions. Stealthing to objectives and getting out of mish as quick as possible.
    - collect 2 A-merits every 4 days and get whatever recipe is selling the best at the time, craft it and put it on the market for the high end of the recent prices, unless u wanna sell quick, then sell low.
    -lather rinse repeat.

    The end

Now, depending your time to play a day, the more toons you do this with, the quicker you collect all that inf. You spend very little time in front of the auction house menu and you get to spend your time playing instead of crafting or farming (if you prefer those things, then ignore my guide!). I am happy making my 500mil inf a week just doing this, keeps my income at a comfortable level for me anyways. Of course doing this with lvl 50 toons would be better, since you may get purple drops as you go. (raise diff to 0/0 tho)

I know this guide seems common knowledge, or sarcastic(which it isn't meant to be) but I have had a few newer players ask me how to make inf without crafting or farming.....so if a few asked me personally, then their are probably alot of ppl wondering (newer players).

I use the word guide in title so those searching find it, even tho I know it is too simple to be classed as a guide!

Doing this also leaves me plenty of time to just relax and play, which I like! Tho I know it is not going to lvl those toons doing it very fast. Which is fine by me. I have a few other toons that do this casually, depending on my boredom lvl with normal playing at the time. But generally I spend an hour a day or so doing this and have enough inf to do what I want to get done with.
  12. This may be wrong place to post this, but is this incarnate stuff REALLY end game 'content'? Aside from a couple TF's, which not everyone has time for. All it looks like is end game crafting to me? When they expand the incarnate stuff, will there be more content to match, or just a couple more tf's? I know they say preatoria will expand, but I see that being a longggg time away.

Just seems they are doling out shiny stuff and avoiding expanding real content for 50's. Basically riding the wave till the wind dies in my opinion.

Just wondering if people are satisfied with end game direction and pace or not? I mean how old is the game, yet they seem to just keep throwing in pretty things and no real stuff for 50's to play......aside from the new grind for incarnate salvage.

As usual, this is just my opinions, and you are entitled to your own!

    Flame on! Lol

    I guess not.

I'm going to check the defender threads now, you've probably posted there that a lvl 9 tank can survive 8man mobs but your lvl 26 Defender dies!!!
    Omg, Surprise.
Rude! You should be ashamed of yourself!
  14. Lol

The only reason I read the forums is to read the arguing in every single thread!

    (and yes, occasionally take part)
  15. Ty Hallowed, very simple clear info! Seems a bit better than I gathered.....tho everyone seems to have different info! Lol (ie: someone said incarnate abilities will only function during special incarnate content)

Still tho....if reaching the full potential is comparable to purple io'ing out a toon, some of us will still maybe never achieve this. I do understand they don't wanna make it easy.....but like purple io'ing out a toon, would take me a year to do this....which for purples, I never felt the need, considering the time vs payoff.
  16. Good point! I said before, how powerful do we need to be? Some of my decked out toons have no trouble with anything already.

I am just still let down that end content finally gets attention and it is mostly tf oriented, which for me don't mean much, cause I don't have comitted time usually for tf's.

    Oh well! Lol

That's how things worked in the GR beta. It sounds pretty casual-friendly to me. (I got in after they pulled the Alpha Slot out of i18, though, so I don't have first-hand experience of how it worked.)

My question to you, though, is: why do you care about how long it will take you to get said Incarnate upgrades if you're not even planning to do the content (Task Forces) they were designed for?
    Wait! Lol

So this stuff only "works" while doing certain content? Won't benefit you outside of that certain content? If that is right, then I will say thumbs down NC and will leave this thread alone!

My bad, so much speculation on this stuff I am confused!

I will forget about all this incarnate stuff then and wait for their next "content" addition!
  18. That was my concern and gripe. For those who don't have time for tf's, the whole incarnate feature seems pretty out of reach and therefore a "meh" feature. Some said tf's are not the only way to get there, but I can't imagine the time it will take to aquire things not doing tf's. For someone that only plays a few hours a week, it SEEMS so far from what folks are saying, that you will not be getting to enjoy this new feature really.

So to us casual's....we'll still be left asking when end-game content, that we all can enjoy, will be added.
  19. Yes, back on topic, sorry all for the bickering. Just get annoyed when people try to stop others from posting their opinions, just cause they disagree. You can disagree and state that, but to tell anyone to keep their opinion to there self is ignorant. Especially in a place meant to share ideas and opinions. If you cannot handle reading opinions you don't agree with, then a forum is not a place you should frequent.

I believe the mods would mostly agree with the above!

I will not be bickering the flames on this post either!

Again, sorry to get off topic.

I could however subscribe, even tho I can't plAy, and ***** about it in the forum!

I just think with other superhero games coming out.....eventually one of them will get it right and Coh will be dead. Doesn't nc soft want that to be an nc soft game? Pretty much everyone I know in game agrees, if a GOOD superhero game comes out, they will be outta here, and those are long time vets talkin. Let's be honest, the only reason any of us still play Coh (aside from having an older computer) is there Is no other good option. For this genre anyways. No one that has played for years can tell me they are still as excited playing Coh as they were their 1st couple years??? As soon as another real good game like this comes out, we are all outta here! Admit it! Lol. So make one nc soft! You did pretty good with this one! It's just gettin rusty now!

    Not panicking, criticizing!

Anyone who may have checked my post history will see, that is all I do! Why? Cause everything they have ever done since cov has been futile in my opinion! My wish? emit the game is too old and dated now and make a new superhero game and quit wasting time on things meant to try and hold on to their subscribers one sorry issue at a time.

Why am I still playin then? Cause it is the only game I am the least bit interested in playing that my old computer can run decently. When I do get a newer one sometime, I will leave this place alone! There are a few games I'd love out now, but can't run....and more coming out that I would love! But until I upgrade, here I am. And I will always criticize, cause it is my right, at least as long as Coh let's me! If enough people say it, maybe someday they will listen. Time for a new game! Period! They could never change and update this one enough to make it really fresh....ever.

Well, that is why I post what I post. (and yes, someone in this thread asked me why i play in a message )
    Ignore me if I offend!

Yes, but someone posted that to get some of the very rare stuff will be like waiting for a purple io drop? If that is a reasonable comparison, I have got maybe 3 of those since they were created.....at the casual rate I play. Sounds like a long road to travel to me! And no, I rarely ever do tf's. Just saying it could literally take years for some folk to get all this incarnate stuff. If I am way off, well them I am wrong! Lol. And I hope I am!
