  1. Concerning the issue with teleport, the power is also not viable due to the problems concerning the red reticle that does not allow one to teleport to most locations quickly or at all. Changing teleport back to its old state or coming up with a new way to execute teleport so that it does not put quite as much of a strain on the server systems (iirc this was the reason for the change to what we have now that causes red reticles even when the only "obstacle" is the zone wall 2 miles away) would be most beneficial to both PvP and PvE. As it currently stands, not being able to teleport against any surface causes teleport to be almost useless as a pvp travel power, and the frequent red reticles causes many players to spend valuable time hunting for a legal place to teleport instead of being involved in a combat.

Earlier in the thread either Ex or Lighthouse stated that the Mountain View job listings are all for the newly established NorCal CoH/V studio. Also earlier in the thread it was clearly stated that only one person out of the entire Cryptic team assigned to CoH/V had accepted the NCSoft offer and will be moving to the new studio with the game.

Read it again. Only one person hasn't accepted. The popular speculation is that that person is Jack Emmert, but we haven't seen anything explicitly stating this AFAIK. It's possible that Jack wasn't offered a job for one reason or another and someone else said no.

Oops... typo. That's exactly what I meant to say - and, if you read the rest of my post carefully you will see that the tone of it supports that. I'll go back and fix it.

Mostly for amusement, if you take a look at the job listings for the new facility, I wonder if it is Gecko who is not coming over, as a Powers Designer is listed. It would be sad, as Gecko has done a fantastic job over the years (not that I ever see him post anymore, did he leave a while back and I had no idea about it?). Emmert, well, I assume he is going to continue with Cryptic managing the design of the Marvel game. Miller is head honcho here now.

Six months to a year before the servers get shut down.

Yeah, that is why NCSoft is investing all of this money in bringing the entire team inhouse into its OWN brand new development studio. To shut everything down, waste their money and put everyone out of work. Even if you are not very trusting, at least look at the logical conclusions of the evidence.

Rome was not built in a day - but scripts to grant prestige, clear debt and flip authentication are not far behind that. Sure, while perhaps we could have pulled some dev time for something else as a "thank you" we do have Issue 11 beta in full swing and the team has the grindstone turning hard to polish that up and get it ready for launch.

Lighthouse, Flashback is more than enough "thank you". In a couple of paychecks I plan on changing my sub to a full year as my "thank you" back at ya. So, any dev time away from Flashback is time that could have been spent on Flashback (okay, okay, I admit that a minimal time spent on other features and fixes are also necessary).
  5. I wholeheartedly agree. Striga has set a new standard for CoH in excellence (which was already very high).

However, with that compliment comes one big complaint, can we have souvenirs for the Task Forces please? I can handle no badges, but since there is the text in my clue box anyway, I would really like a souvenir to re-read it (and I do re-read them).
