  1. It makes you all sad human beings. Even BaBs knows it's sad. Instead of playing the game you accumulate high post numbers? how is that ever good?. And then people hate it when you call them sheep....I think Einstein was right about humans....

I honestly would, overall, intelligent team play is still fun, even if it is with an AT I think was a bad choice. Thats as honest as it gets. Plus not gonna get much done complaining, might aswell play ball.

Nah just accurate, the end justifies my means, but I can see you don't really have an opinion on this topic and wish to attack me, sorry, I can't give you that hug daddy refused to give you. And I can't offer the baked goods that mommy would have baked for you, if she wasn't busy getting her own assortment of "goods" from the mailman or the delivery guy.

See, I played your game, now, go, play.

You can play that way, but it's not very effective. Not in PvE anyway. Stalkers are built to do high damage if they can just survive long enough to do it. On a team, that's easy. On a team, they also receive yet more critical hit ability by staying in the fight with everyone else. Defensive sets like Katana and Broadsword let you do that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I've approached the "meathead tactic" of stalkers a long time ago, once I saw they gave us shields and passives, I knew Stalkers where ninjas that can stay in battle for long periods of time. I never said it was the definitive.

    [ QUOTE ]
I think they went with a safe choice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Safe as opposed to what?, you're just happy the devs gave the Stalker AT something instead of nothing. By comparison, the safer choice would have been FM, faster recharge times, an AoE, great single target damage, and no redraw times. But that's just by comparison.

    [ QUOTE ]
Point being, it "looks" fine on a stalker, since Knives are fairly stalker-like in appearance and behavior even if they are really stealthy scrappers. A Stalker isn't much different, really

    [/ QUOTE ]

Of course it looks fine to you, you're the one that will accept anything the devs throw at you. I undertsnad the idea of concept, but when I think Stalker, Ninja, Rogue, Thief, etc, I don't think Broadsword. I'm sure you're happy if you get anything , I' am not, I rather they gave us something more.

Aww I struck a nerve, and you do what the typical female does, clinging onto that ignore option won't solve any actual problems in your life sweety. It just makes you a defensive recluse and a mindless junky for opinions based around your own logic, but I digress.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
It does depend on their reasoning though. Certainly we get people posting in here who hate the idea of the market on a conceptual or RP level, and so refuse to use it even while sometimes acknowledging it may be the best way to get "stuff". However, It's quite consistent that we get people posting in this section whose complaint is not so much that they hate using the market as they hate the prices on it. When you get people complaining about the cost, and then hailing merits as a wonderful solution, I am convinced these people are committing the above face marring. The reason is that price in inf and merit cost are both a proxy for the time it takes to acquire something, and merits for something frequently take longer than earning the inf on the market. In the cases where "high" price really is the complaint, merits should not be the preferred solution.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree, high prices are always going to be the major complaint in any MMO with an AH. But at the same time , people aren't getting any smarter. I figure I can help out many more people IO a set, if I sold said enhancement at a low price. Especially someone I team with on and off. They shouldn't have to run heavy AE runs, just to get enough inf for one IO. It's the greed game, you hear you can make 90-100 million in one purple IO and you become that 4 year old child wanting that brand new shiny. It comes with the territory. I know it isn't going to stop, but it needs to settle down a little. I don't have a problem with the market, just certain greedy people behind it.

In the end its all avarice, the "need" to be better than some other player will always arise before the want of just playing. And you can bet a gold bullion that many enamored by said greed will defend it blindly, it's all they know , and all they care to understand.
  7. As opposed to ignoring someone being the better idea?. It's called a discussion board for a reason. Yet people cling onto the ignore option for dear life. I don't hide under a rock via ignoring someone just because we don't agree on something. Like I posted before, we can discuss this in RL or keep playing "catch" on the boards, your choice. Throwing insults is childish at best, but hey, thats one thing you can thank the schooling system for. Sour grapes if you don't like what I post, but don't act like a child who "doesn't want to hear it" just because your opinion differs.
  8. It was one word, you're telling me one word didn't allow you to read an entire paragraph correctly?. See thats ego not error. One word especially one mispelled, can still be understood in the context in which is was used in. Don't act like the entire paragraph was ruined due to one word. Then again its the common board defense so I can't really say its going to change, just don't act like I can't go back a few pages and realize it was just one word.
  9. In the end we fed this thread, with opinions that really don't matter since the market still flourishes. Someone can get angry or be happy, doesn't matter, people sell and even more people buy. Though I agree JD is pulling for the "victim" card, over what he thinks is too much. A guy who can make 150 mil or 1 billion, shouldn't really be complaining, in fact, he should be at the end of that line. I still wonder though why people reply to posts they don't like with anger as is they lost something?. Maybe I'm just crazy and everyone is sane...
  10. There you go sweety I fixed it, thanks for posting something so irrelevant to the topic. It also holds true that this is not an english paper, and you are not an english professor, and if you were I would advise that you focus on grading papers not online board posts. But then again, time makes fools of us all. Whatever you need to fill your (success) ego balloon.

Crim, I completely agree with that statement. Completely objective, and sound. But your also giving the devs too much credit. It's not like they make certain moves faster, they just take away said AoE in the AT and thats pretty much it. I understand the need to have "more" power sets but adding broadsword to what is basically a ninja class, is truly erroneous.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I'm going to make an assumption. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Supply and demand, economy 101. I know people will always want to pay for something. It's the extreme's people will go to do so that makes me shake my head.

    [ QUOTE ]
You do realize that cannot work? There has to be some method of dividing stuff between players. There are many options: Lottery, Wait in line the longest, Someone arbitrarily deciding need, or whoever pays the most. The Black Market and Wentworth's work on the "he who pays the most" method. Purples prices simply reflect that. If you think purples are overpriced go out into the game, find them, and sell them or send the devs a PM.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I never really posted that I wanted everyone to have EVERYTHING. I just made a comment towards JD billion in purple rant. And I agreed that it is ridiculous that something should sell for 1bil. On another note, I'm not saying we should all get this or that, but I did notice the price of Costume Wings drop dramatically when no one bought them for the laughable price of 14mil. My biggest suggestion is wait, not "we all should have everything".

    [ QUOTE ]
Many posters here in the market forum have no issues with the developers increasing drop rate. A drop rate increase does increase the items available for players. A price cap does not. That is where poster's here have issues.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're not reading my posts, I never once stated there should be a price cap, JD did.
  13. Knight, its a video game, you seriously compared your life to an MMO, thats as sad is can possibly get. Real life is obviously different, certain "risk" factors apply. Why even bring it up, when were talking about a fake market. I understand your need or want to make it like RL, but thats just sad. The game should be just that. Whether people exploit, demand, complain, etc is irrelevant, as its just a game. When you log off you keep living your sad/boring/happy/eventful/depressing life. I don't care how much you make , what you've done, or how much you need. It's sad when a person has to defend an in game market with fake money. It's all just code man, its just a game.

"Look at my inf, look at my purple IO's, look at my furrows of worry, this has to be real". QFTT(quoted for twisted truth)
  14. Well no one likes paying for something out of their own pocket, especially if its fake. I thought this was common knowledge?. The fun part of the game its teaming, killing mobs, looking heroic, using power sets, patrolling, etc. I don't find making 150 mil+ just to get one purple fun. I'm just not that masochistic. Then again I would have to ask, why do you enjoy the market? ultimately your making money off of others in order to IO out your own character correct?. So in the end its greed I'm assuming. You don't have to play the market, yet you defend it as if its your own child. I don't loathe the market, instead I ony find CERTAIN players behind it to be the real problem. The typical "I have more than you" mentallity.

As far as I can tell, JD asked for a lower amount of inf paid for a certain purp. Are you that fake money hungry that you can't see his opinion clearly?. Or do you seriously want to make that much money in order to feed some part of your ego that craves in game money. No where did anyone say the market should be taken out, I atleast didn't. Only that some prices be dropped. Your acting like an extremist over a video game....need a hug?, your acting out simply over someones opinion. Look out your window, its called the real world, I know it looks scary but eventually your going to go out there and play ball.

Does it matter at this point?, I mean they're implementing them regardless. I just had an opinion on how laughable it was in doing so. We all know the devs make mistakes, this would be one of them. Of course the unrequitted dev love will prove otherwise. Are you asking me that question in looking for my opinion or out of defense?

People don't agree with you, and are therefore sheep.

Says the man with a naked, streaking Batman for an icon..

As opposed to what?, next time use some logic, I know your wanting to attack me through your keyboard fills your ego balloon but honestly mindless followers have existed for decades. I'm sorry, no cyanide flavored kool aid for me, thank you. Then again your from Oaklahoma...I know CoH and the forums life is pretty much your "grand Ball", or even the ritz.

Then again we should all have Rydia on our Icon...yeah you have such taste... for great games. See I picked the icon knowing it was funny, its a joke, but you actually believe your "cool" or unique because you put an videogame character as your icon. Your not sheek for selecting an Icon of one of the bad games in the FF seires.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
This will be solved once we are able to set our own spawn sizes. I will be farming for purples heavily once the new issue goes live to try and cash in on high prices while they last.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pretty much QFT. And people will still find something to complain about.
  18. What are you a couple?, if so congrats, Like I said we digress, people wish to judge others on a video game, but when it all comes down to it, we sit in front of a screen thinking of witty comebacks. Keep in mind, you addressed me first. See thats the whole point here, as soon as anything RL is mentioned , we finally get to see how cowardly people really are, how they lose their willingness to "speak for the people" or their own sets of in game beliefs.
  19. I wasn't really attacking it, as much as the players behind the curtain. but thanks for understanding my post. Your right though I would be much better off playing the game like a sheep. Saying yes to everything the devs implement. I'll keep that in mind.
  20. Cavatina your judging me on an online forum, inaccurately at that. Honestly, assuming makes fools of us all. I'm either guessing your the "non comformist. with a 9-5 job"? or are you liberated and living with some type of relative?, see we can all assume. Then again if you live close to NY we can meet and see how vocal you are when we meet?, sure I would love to see how much your willing to "bark" when I'm in front of you. We can forget about all the back and forth on the boards. Then again I have a feeling your going to sidestep from that very notion...

    But we digress...
  21. [ QUOTE ]
You're the one acting high and mighty and demanding people cater to your unrealistic. uneducated, childish notions of what drives a market and your insistence on the devs taking time out of their busy schedule to placate you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can we all keep in mind, that its a PRETEND market. It doesn't exist. It's just code. Defending it doesn't exactly make you a better person, your not defending anything real, or anything that will change the world. Your literally defending a fake market. But that in of itself should tell you something...go outside, go eat a donut, do something just do it away from the comp, because if you think defending a VIDEO GAME market is worthwhile, you failed at life.

"Thats some powerful stupid" - QFT
  22. JD, after IO's thats all its ever been, elitist sucking elitist. I'm just glade the purple IO's don't make your character "god", I'm happy in knowing purples dont "turn the tides" of battles. And honestly, I hope they don't. We don't need WoW "elites" running around claiming this or that. Like I posted before, I wish I could say your dealing with mature people....but we both that aint true. Some definitives will always exist. Aslong as there's a market for avarice then people will "feed". I'm sure some market head will make the claim, that its "your fault" that you didn't manipulate some form of the AH.

    [ QUOTE ]
he sad thing you can't do it in real life and have to get your kicks in a video game...then act all high and mighty like your something special and talk down to people.

    [/ QUOTE ]

QFT over the many years of MMO's...
  23. I'm still laughing at the fact that people believe an IN GAME economy is the same as a real life economy. Which is weird since I dont see a trade bank, ATM's , or CD's in game. Maybe its just me, but it's always as simple as waiting, eventually someone will drop the price of said purp. I still remember when costume wings used to cost 14mil and up. When your not buying anything , supply tends to cheapen up, thats a fact. I would link a Wiki page but anyone can do that(google ftw).

On a more serious note, I run my 50 nearly every night, either farming in Cim or farming BM, two purps so far.....been doing that for almost a year now. I think the drop rates need to increase slightly. But the prices of purps would drop, yes I know, heaven forbid we all had purples....I like to throw the "its just a game" line , but many market heads will comment on how it reflects RL, which is sad because I come to play to ignore certain definitives in RL, mainly greed. But aslong as there's inf to be had JD, there will always be Avarice. I would love to tell you , your dealing with a mature lot, but that just aint the truth. The truth is , more kids play this game then adults do. And the adults that do?, they rather screw someone in a game (vicious circle) they don't know simply for in game money.

Is it sad?, yes. Will the devs fix it?, maybe, should people just relax and go eat a donut or get a girlfriend?, definitely.

Unlike most of the sheep on here, I have to disagree, I thought being a Stalker was about speed, go in, step out. They literally gave us a slow scrapper AT, which happens to albeit strong, but also the slowest. This doesn't bother me nearly as much as people posting "hey the Knives of Artemis have it!", trying to make it viable for us. Secondly, KoA are practically never ran into during normal play (AE excluded). Even during the old days of Ninja farms, people farmed Drek. They're just not that common.

Believing an AT is viable because a certain enemy type has it is circular logic. Especially when the AT contradicts that which what you do with a stalker. By that logic we should all get Sapping guns and Quantum rifle blasting...somethings are just too silly.
  25. It's built for the pure masochist. Simple as that, seven toggles and no tier 9 "god mode", it does make you a survivalist with Dark Regen, but it synergizes the most with DM(obviously). With Cloak of fear and Opressive Gloom, you really don't need stun heavy power sets, its all comfort level there, if you want an extra heal (Siphon life ftw) and a massive end drain (Dark Consump) then DM is your best choice.
