((OOOH! Stone spears, duh. Even better! Well I can roll with it either way. We can just continue with the whole quicksand bit here.))
The Mutated Forest
Graxitica felt himself ... falling. The [phase shift] his shell experienced allowed him to fall below the quicksand-like goop. He kept moving forward as soon as he felt his phased feet hit solid earth - there was NO WAY he was going to allow himself to get stuck, imprisoned WITHIN an entire planet, not like this.
He burst out of the ground, away from the quicksand-goop, and away from the fiery looking reptilian/lizard-like creature, continuing his high speed escape.

Negative Rise took note of Vetdjat's - catch. Something wasn't meshing right with the demon here due to that, but he didn't care. His demonic nature not-withstanding, the High General Nev'oroxis was well versed in detecting deception, as well. Yet he only appeared to stand before Vetdjat, a much more sinister mind residing within this carnal shell.
"Well, it's still impressive, never-the-less," he replied. "Not sure about my own planet's advancements in an area such as this. Councils after councils, all kinds of government meetings and discussions ... it took my planet 10,000 years just to decide to build itself around the current magicracy." -
((Is that chunk of rock an [Animated Stone Golem]? Cute.))
The Mutated Forest
The fiery visage of Akat filled the visual perception of Graxitica's new found sight. The animated stone golem barrelling towards him was of no consequence to the fiendish incarnation, yet it also registered in his vision.
The mutated shell of his new body perceived Akat and the stone thing to be a threat. The cyclonic personality of Shortoth/Graxus viewed Akat to be ... a potential new host. The being calling itself Graxitica simply saw Akat for what she was - dangerous. The entirety of Graxus wanted this new-found opponent to be an ally. Any further interaction with any of these beings would have to wait, however.
Her words were lost on Graxitica. Turning his back to her with a twist of his head to keep his eyes on her, the entire form of Graxitica simply vanished, immediately dashing away.
'A chaotic world, indeed, one appropriately suitable for me to - CONQUER!' the thought echoed, rumbling through the very core of his true being. 'Not yet, though ... not yet!'

Nev'oroxis would appear to be somewhat awestruck, even given the lack of complete expression imbued to the internal demon known as Negative Rise.
"This...all this allows you to communicate beyond this world?" he asked of Vetdjat. "Simply amazing...we have nothing of the like on Ag'xis."
Indeed, what Negative Rise spoke of while taking the form of Nev'oroxis was in fact truth. The people of Ag'xis were locked in an age of mysticism and magic, divine powers flowing through the priests of the planet while mages made names for themselves practicing all forms of magic - light, dark, offensive, defensive, chrono-magic, gating...of course, he knew of all this because the form he took was in fact OF the High General Nev'oroxis, as he had been sent to collect the man's soul and spread a little hellfire around on the isolated planet in the process. As Negative Rise, he planted seeds of anarachy and chaos amongst the populace of the planet, and as Nev'oroxis, he inherited a shell that had sworn to defend that very same populace. It was also in this very shell he single-handedly laid to rest one of the many Heavenly Angels that had foolishly attempted to send him back to the depths of Hell. Of course, THAT battle took place on an uninhabited, neighboring planet in the same system as Ag'xis. Negative Rise was SUPPOSED to return to Ag'xis to continue the facade, to continue portraying one of the greatest generals the Tevron Reaches had ever produced, a man that was so stalwart and dedicated to protecting his people that he exchanged his soul for the power to do so. Of course, only one other knew of such a contract, that being of Him Below, the very one Nev'oroxis gave his soul to. -
The Mutated Forest
'What is it with this damn forest?' the sinister creature queried to himself. 'And what is up with this shell? Something is happening - very strange, it's as if there's a tempest ravaging inside...'
Infuriated, Graxitica began lashing out, a series of energetically empowered punches smashing into the trees, as well as fires erupting all around. The beastly Graxitica was at war with himself: No. The divine essence of the Dark God Graxus was truly demented, but he needed something else ... someone else. He couldn't possibly allow his own power to be so ... restricted within this shell.
So he would continue his rampage until something or someone did finally show up...and until then his powers would continue to fluctuate, a reflection of the internal chaos flowing within the shell known as Graxitica.

Negative Rise raised his hand, smoothing his hair out with the outstretched palm while rubbing his head as if thinking.
"Audio, video?" he queried, giving his best, truly profoundly lost expression. "I have no clue what you mean...if you can send a message, just tell them High General Nev'oroxis is alive and well, and currently - observing a strange, new world. Tell them they no longer need to fear the insane madness of the Archness Lonad...the madman was consumed by his own powers."
He shrugged his shoulders. "If my planet is even capable of receiving such a message, I highly doubt we would receive any sort of response, at least, not right away. That message will be debated about for at least the next year within the Council, and anything else beyond that is ... well, it's all a lengthy process." -
Which is why I said: If someone has the build to solo a GM, the rewards should be nerfed for those that do solo the GMs. It's all well and good someone can afford to put together such a build to do such a thing, but it takes away from others that rely on teams to do so.

Grim watched Lady Duskblade's gesturing, smirking all the way. It was obvious to him that someone else had sent her in, to do whatever it was Azuria had in mind for them.
Azuria glanced at Lady Duskblade, noting what she could make of any sort of confused look the woman was making.
"Well, seems there's something very odd going on in Astoria," Azuria began. "Many heroes and MAGI agents have reported an odd and sudden build up of Banished Pantheon in the Moth Cemetary location. Seems no matter how many heroes are there to defeat them, they just keep heading towards that location."
Azuria adjusted her skirt, taking a sip of the coffee as she paused for a moment.
"There's also been word that something has been lurking around amongst the Pantheon minions, and noone seems to be able to do anything to this - creature." -
Way back when, maybe a year or 2 ago, I coulda swore I seen someone with a post about soloing Lusca. Maybe it was 2 years ago I seen that post. I don't remember where, and am currently too lazy to search for it. Obviously it took the person FOREVER to solo Lusca. Which would mean whatever build that person used would have to had been expensive. I don't think the GMs are really soloable anymore. If they are, it wouldn't really be worth it.

Quote:Are there even ANY CONTACTS in Boomtown? I have no clue. Only time I go to Boomtown is either during one of the TFC series of task forces, or for the explore badges/beacons and plaques.(except when it comes to Boomtown, that place needs life so bad)
Something I've mentioned before - they add a new zone called the "Netherworld" and drop the entrance to it right in Dark Astoria...have some big huge event for it. Maybe make the zone only open up once the event objectives have been completed (like a trial to open the pathway...)
Who knows.
However yes I do agree with the current GMs and zone events just being so ... mediocre now. However, everytime I see an event flash across my chat window, I'm all for it. I'm ready to seek out whatever GM it is that's just spawned or fight off said Rikti invasion...but blergh you can only do that so many times at the current rate of the rewards offered. Agreed the monsters don't act like monsters until they start attacking your toons. This can be solved with a destructible environment system like they use in mayhem missions. Also - remember when AE was first introduced, and the dropships would 'crash' into the AE buildings? Yeah, we should be able to take down those damn dropships during a raid, or have at least some kind of mission or SOMETHING where we can take one of those things down and get a badge for it.
Incentives? Here's my, comments and whatnots:
MORE MERITS for starters - you get FIVE (5) MERITS for getting the explore accolades, for crying out loud - why not 5-10 Merits for GMs? Last time I went out hunting GMs, I couldn't solo a single one of them and needed at least, AT LEAST 3-4 other teammates. Oh but then NO there's all those idiots out there that can solo the things. Well, if someone can solo a GM, and they fight a GM solo, let the GM drop ONE MERIT, or no recipe, or even less influence/infamy/prestige. I have no clue how they'd do this, but maybe there could be some kind of detection on the map which tells the GM how many are on the map, who's teamed and who isn't...this way if someone can solo a GM takes on the thing by themself, wala, you get instant less reward. Granted, that's not taking into account if the soloist can defeat the GM in oh, let's say 10 minutes. Would totally depend on time spent fighting the creature.
So you've got all those GM badges already, or want to get them on another toon? How about an accolade badge with an accompaning power. This would be absolutely fantastic to me. I have no clue what the accolade power would be, let alone the name of the badge. Just as long as it's not as useless as the Crey Cryo-Pistol, on par with perhaps Geas or TFC...I really don't know - just would be nice.
Mostly I just agree with a lot about what the OP mentioned. Definitely need some bigger rewards for GMs and events. -
What was it - the 5th Anniversary event where they spawned all those GMs and AVs in Atlas and Galaxy?
I wouldn't mind seeing more of that. And YES, more redside stuff. Also - I WANT TO TAKE DOWN A RIKTI DROPSHIP AND GET A BADGE FOR IT! DAMMIT!!!!!!! >_<
Definitely needs to be more redside GMs though. That would be a nice start. Perhaps more multi-part GMs similar to Lusca. UP the rewards for fighting such GMs. Hardly anyone ever wants to fights GMs anymore as well. They can either solo the things or whatever. -
Would be a BS/Electric Armor, or Kat/EA, or DB/EA scrapper. I went with the sword sets due to their spinning PBAoEs. This guy would take Whirlwind, the tier 4 Speed pool power. The Electric Armor would need an amusement park-like coloring to it.

((And here I am trying to slow my posts down...I'm thoroughly enjoying this thread, btw!!))
The Sudden Clearing
Seeing the wolf's body decimate a tree was something completely new to Graxitica. He just stood there for a split nanosecond, as his own divine presence was somehow momentarily distracted by a tree emanating immense energies...
He didn't let that interfere with his battle against these wolves, however. He instantly redirected his rage towards the two entrapped wolves, pummeling at them both with whatever new-found power his body held. Raising both fists as he jumped towards the first trapped wolf, he brought them down upon the beast with a furious smashing swoop, and then sent a bone-smashing single fisted punch towards the skull of the second trapped wolf.
If the wolves had been successfully dealt with, he would use his psionic abilities to attempt to siphon off anything from the divine light...
It would prove to be unsuccessful, of course. Instantly severing his psionic link upon such discovery, there would be a brilliant backlash of power that seemed to wash over the area in a 360-degree area...a result of the link being severed, and the source of said divine power attempting to lash out in order to incinerate whatever tried to penetrate it.
'No good, not good at all,' he thought. Seeing the others before him beyond the clearing, Graxitica only knew of one thing to do: RUN.
He dashed off away from the group again. This time, he would seek out a different source...whatever was mutating this portion of the forest would be appropriate for his needs.

Negative Rise smirked as best he could.
"Won't hurt to give it a try, I suppose," he uttered, "I'm sure the Tevron High Council will be relieved someone survived that atrocious battle." -
Grim noticed the woman's shrug.
"Everything ok there?" he asked. "I know it might not be much to go on, but those four phrases should've rung some kind of bell if you had that dream. Otherwise, someone else had it, and sent you to deal with this problem."
With that, Azuria returned, coffee mug in hand. Setting the mug down on the table, she looked up at the two.
"What's this, just the two of you?" she asked. "Well, guess everyone had a rough night's sleep last night," she quipped, lowering her head as she shuffled some papers on the desk. "Whatever happened ... whatever that was that was dream-broadcasted... we can't ignore this situation. Lady Duskblade, I take it Grim filled you in on the details?" -

The Fiery Fight
It seemed the fiery cages were holding the two wolves in place, only so much, however - as they continued to spew forth their toxic brew. The other wolf, unfortunately, took the brunt of his psychic attack in stride and was now charging at Graxitica.
So Graxitica planted himself firmly against the ground, and called upon the power residing within the magically enhanced, mutated form of his new body. He felt a surge of power building up inside the shell, and locked his eyes on the advancing wolf. Instead of simply defending himself, instead of running away or attempting to use any of his fiery tricks, Graxitica had found an internal source of energy within the shell, and unleashed a furious punch right into the wolf's snout. Transferring a bit of the shell's own life-force into the attack, the punch would have to connect, and if it didn't outright destroy the wolf, Shortoth felt it would give him the opportunity to refocus his efforts on the other two wolves that were still spitting acid at him.
Only this time, instead of resorting to burning the things, he would simply use his new-found ability to smash the wolves' heads into pulp.

Nev'oroxis stared blankly at Vetdjat.
"Hmmm...I don't know what to tell you," his words were laced with a bit of despair as he lowered his head, "I just suddenly found myself on this planet...and I honestly don't know how to tell you where my world is located at. I could describe the stars that inhabit my world's nightsky, though...unless it would be more helpful if I just showed you?"
-'Luckily, I just recently robbed this Nev'oroxis of his life,' Negative Rise amused himself with. 'Since none of the bodies remained ... such a message would go through with noone the wiser to his true departure!'-
Still, the demon had to be careful. There were numerous ways such a message could backfire on him.
"Would my people even be capable of receiving such a message?" his question did hold merit - for the world of Ag'xis was a magically empowered world, and the people there were capable of many, many things...but receiving a transmission from anything so technologically advanced would be nigh impossible. -
Tracks 2,3,&9 all have that same, underlying ... I dunno what to call it, but these 3 tracks have that somewhat irriatating drumbeat/repetitive sound of some sort in common.
Yes, track 1 is great. Nice intro track. I enjoyed "Very Dark Places" (track 8) as well. The final track, The Hamidon Wars (track 13) is kinda lame...but I did hear a somewhat underlying "natural" tone to it that implies Devouring Earth. Still doesn't make the last track any less lame. C'mon, it's called 'The Hamidon Wars' - you'd think they make something comparable to ... dare I say, The Imperial March from Star Wars... >_> -
Sonic/NRG, Sonic/MM blaster or a Son/Rad, Son/Kin corruptor. Could also go Sonic/Thermal corruptor.
Now Available -
Archery/MM Blaster. Not sure how close you could make this toon actually look like a pilgrim... Could also go Archery/Storm corruptor with the anarachy symbol.
Double Take -
NRG/NRG Blaster. Could also go NRG/TA corruptor, or Elec/NRG dominator.
Happenstance -
Shaking his head in the affirmative, Grim paraphrased what he understood of the message.
"Apparently, there's 4 'scars', possibly gateways," he started in, "hidden here in Paragon as well as in the Isles. These possible gateways were sealed away long ago, and somehow, now, these seals are beginning to weaken. I think that a couple of the seals are weaking faster than the other two...which is why Azuria, who once drank coffee, has suddenly picked the habit back up. There's probably some secretive group behind this weakening, and some of the known organizations will probably be going after these locations as well. I think Azuria wants us to investigate the situation, re-seal the two spots here in Paragon, and stop any further attempts from anyone that would try to destroy these spots."
Crossing his arms after he finished, he walked over to the wall by the door, leaning against it. "Do the following four phrases ring a bell?"
Quote:He repeated the phrases from the message precisely, not skipping a beat in the recital.Just beyond the forests of Croatoa...
Secrets hidden within the shadowy islands of the Nerva Archipelago...
Amid the clamor and shim-sham glam of St. Martial...
Buried deep below the cemetery of Dark Astoria...
"In case you're wondering how I would remember something that's supposed to be broadcast in a dream, received by only those attuned to such a thing...well, I was tuned in, and I don't suffer from the everyday condition of having to sleep..." explaining his ability had become second nature. -
Somewhere in the Rogue Isles...earlier that morning
A wave of serenity washed over the unconcious forms of the three Sisters. Awakening from one of the most restful nights they had in years, each one of them suddenly remembered ...
An immense feeling of cold, chilling her very soul...a rush of energy filled her veins, empowered by this chilling sensation. Never before had her powers felt so ... real. Suddenly, a bright flash....an intense heat melting away her cool, icy exterior -
The cool, wet beads of sweat trickled down her brow, dripping from her chin. It wasn't enough to cool her body down, however ... the intense heat that had built up within her heart kept her body temperature at a fiery 102 degrees year round. This time, the fire intensified, evaporating every bead of sweat instantly...all the while an eerie voice kept prodding, the sound of that voice reverberating throughout her mind -
The mental image of burning towns and cities had been permanantely emblazoned in her mind long ago - only this time, she couldn't make it go away. Oh, how it infuriated her...and it burned, burned very painfully...but she couldn't scream. No, she wouldn't allow herself to scream in agony, to embrace the pain was the only way -
The Three Sisters of Hell had awakened, drawn out of their slumber thanks to a strange, secretly broadcasted message. That message also filled the three with an immesurable glee, as well...
For today, the three would embark on a journey that would bring them together, for the first time since their hellish departure from the Circle...
