Souvenir: Orange Car Reflector
You found this reflector on the ground before the end of that fateful day. You've come to remember that event as:
Your Little Fender-Bender.
It all started with you running late for school. You rushed out fast, forgetting your backpack. You had to turn around in the middle of the drive to retrieve it, rushing because you did not have a reserved parking space.
When you got to the parking lot, there was only one space left. You turned to park in the space; there was little room but you convinced yourself that you would fit. Instead of fitting in the space, your car poked into the car on the left, denting their back-seat's door. Then you tried to back up, but ended up tearing the front bumper straight off another car.
As you got out of your car, cursing and swearing, a witness walked up to you. He told you that he was a friend of the both the owners of the cars, and that they were seniors on the football team. He gave you directions on where to find them.
You then followed the directions, which were to the weight room where the football team was doing their morning workouts. You had to talk to the team's coach, who was angry at you for disturbing his team's workout, in order to find the two car owners.
You were then able to lead the owners to the cars, where a large crowd of other students had already gathered and were laughing and pointing at the damage. Once the crowd realized who you were, they mercilessly ridiculed you. You exchanged information with the two football players, and went on your way to class.
Throughout the day, you had to hide from the players and their friends, throwing your sweatshirt hood over your face to attempt to blend in with the rest of the students. You were lucky and escaped scot-free.
For the next week, you had to talk to several insurance agents. You had to deal with inspectors and ridicule from classmates.
After a few weeks, no one really remembered the accident anymore. That is, no one except you.
(((This really happened to me. I don't know why I keep the reflector from when I hit the first car, but it sits on my desk next to my computer.)))
