This accusation surprises me -- would you care to provide an example (actual quotes, please) of any case at all where I have "defended" or "justified" someone who is guilty of "egregious errors or misbehaviors"? Since you say I have a "long history" of doing this, surely you can come up with some examples? If not, you owe me an apology.
[/ QUOTE ]
And here's your "shocked martyr" routine. You must have a patent on this.
I have no intention of wading through your countless posts to prove something; if you take that as justification that I am wrong, so be it. Every time someone comes into this forum and causes an uproar with their rude or inflammatory posts about the failings of this AT, you are inevitably the first to defend them on the grounds that only their message matters, not how they express it. You are also the first to complain about anyone who uses similar tactics in favor of Dominators. If you fail to see your own double standard, you are either clueless about your behavior or utterly disingenuous. -
[ QUOTE ]
Another thing that would help would be for people not defend someone who agrees with them, no matter what errors that person has made, simply because they are in the same "camp."
[/ QUOTE ]
Careful, your hypocrisy is starting to show. Given your long history of defending/ignoring/justifying anyone whose opinion is similar to yours, regardless of how egregious their errors or misbehaviors, while constantly complaining about similar behavior from people whose opinions run counter to your own, I'm not sure whether to find the above post funny, ironic or sad. -
[ QUOTE ]
Bradd, thanks for clarifying that, based on your highest toon being level 33, you do not presume to offer build or tactics advice.
[/ QUOTE ]
It really is a very simple thing to admit you made an honest mistake and move on. Or heck, just move on. But you really seem to like being argumentative just for the sake of being argumentative. -
[ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately, the person who demanded that others post their builds and tactics so that he could tell them what they were doing wrong did not say that he was going to restrict his comments to pre-level-33, or to the build that he has personal experience with.
[/ QUOTE ]
Either you're being deliberately obtuse in order to continue arguing or your reading comprehension skills are somewhat lacking lately; I've reread the last several pages, and no where does Bradd "demand" that others post their builds, nor does he offer himself as an expert on anything.
The quotes from Bradd in relations to your complaints:
[ QUOTE ]
Then post your build & tactics and ask for help.
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
the same goes for everyone else who complains endlessly about dominators without asking for advice.
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Not only do Dimension Shift tactics exist; we actually discussed them recently.
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
It doesn't require game experience to point out that a topic on Dimension Shift build and gameplay tactics recently appeared on the forums.
[/ QUOTE ]
Note: no where does Bradd say that he will be the one giving the advice, only that people who are having difficulty with their Dominators should seek build advice rather than merely complain about it. -
[ QUOTE ]
And I personally am not terribly impressed by someone who doesn't even have a level 40 dom or a level 50 anything -- I'm not willing to accept such a person as an expert on the game, frankly.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not a very reliable means of judging someone's expertise. The game is not substantially different at 40 or 50 than it is at 30, and there are enough power levelled 50s that using the big 5-0 as some sort of magic benchmark isn't very trustworthy. There are people who have been consistently playing this game for 2 years and, due to altitis, still do not have a level 50 toon. -

515A:Some of us, in fact a *lot* of the playerbase do NOT have the ability to dedicate that much time to playing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Lol, I'm lucky if I get to play 2 hours a day, and definitely cannot play every day.
[/ QUOTE ]
Confirming something I've often suspected -- some of you spend more time arguing about the game than actually playing it -
[ QUOTE ]
I have an accolade that gives me a 10% boost. Its made no difference. I have seen posts from others with a 15% or more boost, makes no difference (per their post). Unless we have a boost to allow us to take the alpha, I dont see this changing any complaints at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
I now have a 20% HP boost (well on Test, anyway -- soon to be on Live) and still I do not see any real improvement in how my Dominator plays. While the extra HP is certainly nice, even a 20% boost has not had a noticable impact on my Dom's survivability. The often requested HP boost to the AT as a "fix" can pretty much be eliminated as a viable improvement IMO. -
[ QUOTE ]
Protection vs. Knockback, Knock Up, Repel, Stun, Sleep, Hold, Immobilize, Confuse and Fear. Pretty much the whole suite.
[/ QUOTE ]
All of that, plus the ability to break out of an existing hold by activating Domination? Uber-Domination Mode just became Ultra-Uber-Domination Mode ...
I'm still not sure it's wise to put all of a Dominator's eggs in one basket and tie all of our effectiveness almost entirely to Domination; there's not much that we agree on in the Dom Forum, but I suspect that it would be almost universally agreed that Doms are more than fine once Domination is activated. It's the downtime in between Domination that needs some tweaks -- just nothing major prefarably, that would require a downgrade of Domination.
Regardless, it's good to see some Dev attention coming our way. -
[ QUOTE ]
We've got a nice tweak to the Domination ability coming down the pipe (it will crank up your Mez resistance while it is active)
[/ QUOTE ]
I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, especially when it's a gift horse I've been asking for, but I'm a bit disappointed that Mez resistance will be linked to Domination. Aside from AVs and EBs, I cannot think of a single instance where I had been Mezed with Domination running, and I would never willingly face an AV or EB without a few Break Frees. More often than not, I need the Mez resistance more when Domination isn't running; afterall, with Domination up anything less than an EB or AV ceases to be a threat. -
Any suggestions as to which foes are best for using the Rest approach? I tried it with some basic Carnie minions and was fine for about 5 minutes until one of them stunned me.
-
I'm drooling at the prospect of Double Domination goodness; now where to find a couple of /kin's before the Devs get wise to this and change it?

very confusing missions because there's no tips for the side missions
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, somewhat. I did my first Mayhem Mission tonight, and had more fun than I have in CoV in quite a while. But the side missions seemed a bit vague; I was able to figure out 2 of the 3, but the third I left unfinished. I had cleared out the map, and wasn't able to find or hear a glowie. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, so I just left rather than waste more time. -
[ QUOTE ]
I really don't feel like spending 5 straight hours paying attention to a pvp zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
The time needed in a PvP zone for the badges is cumulative, but not necessarily consecutive. This has been confirmed by Lord_Recluse over in this thread.
However, actually getting the badge to appear seems a bit wonky. I was in Bloody Bay from 6am to 10pm yesterday; even with log offs and disconnects, I was in the zone a good 10 hours. The badge never showed up, so I gave up and zoned out. Still no badge. And then at some point later, the badge was there -- but no notification that I had received it.
