Barring the mobs having +tohit, you need 45% defense to reduce anything that's within 5 levels of you to their tohit floor of (5% * accuracy multipliers). So your first sentence is wrong in several ways.
Hide's AoE unsuppressed AoE defense is base 37.5%. A single SO (20%) pushes that to 45%. So your second sentence is also wrong.
Try not making things up when you present a case. Poor arguments based on making things up off the top of your head aren't very convincing.
*I am bringing up survivability differences because that is apparently the metric used to balance Brutes against Scrappers. -

Its my experience that single target only sets on stalkers don't add much to a team, and are little desired since scrappers pretty much do it just as well OR BETTER while keeping SOME aoe too.
You aren't going to convince me and I really don't care to continue to derail the thread by arguing a point with you that has been well argued in the other thread.
Solution, I am just gunna put you on ignore.
EDIT: Its nothing personal, I am just past this. I found some regular people to S/TF with who appreciate my Min/Maxed AoE stalkers so I am fine. I am finished with thier Io'd builds, and have moved on to a sweet Traps/Ice Defender. I just don't care to discuss this anymore with you.
Did it ever occur to you that this isn't about whether or not someone can convince you? "Convincing" isn't a very good metric for discussion, because convincing may not depend at all upon the arguments and points presented in the discussion.

Edit: I've decided to ignore Test_Rat, as all I see is a constant stream of opinion, and I cannot conceive of a situation in which I would be interested in what s/he has to say. -

I'm always looking for extra recharge. My newest build (not listed) hit's the "poor man's" permadom with non purple IO's. My real quandry, now that I look at it, is giving up some defense in favor of aoe's and some utility powers in either Soul or Mu. I can hit 20 some defense without scorp's power pools through enhancements and tough and weave and have some solid resistance to sm/l at least. Anyway, thanks again for the response.

Hi Dominator community!
I have no idea what I was thinking, but I have a lvl 41 grav//thorn dominator. I really have a good time on the toon, but I'm really not sure what I'm going for with her. I'm not sure what advice I'm looking for, either. I simply have no direction with the toon, other than wanting to "go straight" with her at some point. She's light rp, and I dig her story, but as far as how to synergize her powers, I'm kinda up in the air.
Originally, I conceived her as a position-based fighter--straight hard and soft control with some fair damage. I've even used D-shift and powers similar to Whirlwind in my past, to hamper and break up enemy movement. I've found that I can do decent amounts of ST and AOE damage, though the AOE has to tick for a few seconds before it has the full effect. I'm not sure if anyone has even attempted to touch such a power combo, and I've never seen anyone in game with the same combo on Virtue.
For what it's worth, here's my build. Bear in mind that I'm only 41 now, and it will take me a bit to build up the inf to get some of the more expensive purple sets in this build. I just made the build so I can have an idea of how to spend slots, I would be amenable to changes if anyone wants to recommend them. (I just went with the data chunk, because I'm never able to read the regular export.)
