Can somebody speak to what this means for Mac users?

I've got a 2007 iMac with an ATI RadeonHD2600, which according to the handy chart posted earlier, is several tiers below the NVidia 9800 GT.
If I want to stick with an iMac, I would NEED to go with the high end 27", as its ATI Radeon HD 4850 is the only one that's better than the NVidia 9800 GT.

I'm sure Mac Pro, Mac Mini, and MacBook users also will at some point want this question addressed.

I'm wondering if anybody else has encountered this, or has heard of a solution.

When I turn the sound and music down to 10-20% so I can hear my SG on Teamspeex, the object sounds stay at high levels. So if I go near a computer, train, vent, portal, pretty much anything that that isn't ambient, it's absurdly loud, and pretty much makes me go deaf. I don't have this problem with powers or anything, it's just the special environment sounds. This is true both through my built in speakers as well as through my USB headset.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

So I'm totally new to CoH, but I've gotten some really great help from my PC user friends who have been playing a while. I really like the whole deal with keybinding/mapping/macros and being able to load them from a file when you make a new character. However, I can't figure out where these preferences files are saved on the Mac so I can load them on my new toon.

After reading the sticky, I know that I should save them in the "Home folder" but I don't know which folder that refers to. Is that the Applications folder where the CoH package is stored or my user directory?
