  1. Thanks for that! I know very little about IO sets and just assumed they were all ridiculously expensive, some of this sounds affordable and I will give it a shot.
  2. Hi all,

    I have a lvl 50 SS/ELA/MM brute that I would like some advice on. This is my main villain-side and I am not massive on alts so will be using her for all my red-side activity (so she needs to be well rounded and not just built for something like farming/AVs etc...)

    I do not get to spend that much time playing CoX anymore so have put together a build using SOs because I don't think I have enough money to fit her out with a full set of IO sets. Feel free to give advice on IO slotting for the benefit of others or if I suddenly come into loadsa infamy

    Some notes on my playstyle:

    - I love jumping into mobs and spamming footstomp and ball lightning
    - I love stacking Rage as much as possible (I know there is debate for and against but I like to stack)
    - I hate missing, hence rage slotting and two accuracies in some powers
    - I hope that between stamina, energize and power-sink I will have little/no end problems
    - I hope that energize means I no longer have to take Heal Self

    Could I please get some feedback on the following build? (I made a concious decision to pick powers at certain levels so I could get enough slots in powers overall, but I don't really care about when I added slots)

    Yes, you can. It's possible, but it's not optimal. The Fighting pool makes it easier to hit the softcap thanks to the extra 5.85% +def(all) from Weave and Tough adds a nice bit of survivability thanks to stacking the +res(s/l) with the scaling resists of the passives, not to mention that Tough is the only place that an SR can put the Steadfast Protection +def IO.
    Thanks for the info. Damn SR is such a tight build, I was hoping to fit my Claws/SR with IOs come i16 so i could soft-cap, and also pick up fireball for some spin/shockwave/fireball AoE goodness but looks like it might be impossible =(
  4. Have a couple of semi-related questions, assuming I am going to take all other SR powers:

    1. Am I better off taking the three passives from SR over boxing/tough/weave?
    2. Can I hit the soft-cap without dipping into the fighting pool?

    Would like to try and avoid taking fighting pool if I can help it, but if I'm going to IO out this toon I want to hit the soft-cap.
  5. Thanks for those tips so far, I know very little about IOs at the moment, will have a play around in Mids. If anyone has advice on slotting etc please share.

    At the moment I know there are certain things I would have to address in my build:

    - lack of knockback/immobilisation, do I still have to rely on leaping pool here or are there an IOs sets that let me pass that?
    - recharge, ideally I'll like to be able to chain throw spines, ripper and spine burst, I have hasten but if I can go without that then would consider it.
    - been reading about hitting the defense soft-cap, is this possible with da?

    I've been playing CoH on and off for a long time, but my last break was over a year. I mainly play trollers but have two scrappers a claws/sr at lvl 30 and a spines/da at lvl 27.

    I dusted off my scrapper earlier today and thought I'd hit the forums to see what the latest take on spines/da, is this still an awesome combo or have any changes within the last year 'broken' it?

  7. Is there any way I can create the binds in text files and then use a macro to execute them? If not then ill map them to other keys or pick up a usb numpad.

  8. Man I wish these awesome binds could be done using macros I play on a laptop so no numpad.
