Since I first saw this game years ago I thought it would be cool to be part of a supergroup with a unifying theme. This became even a stronger desire when City of Villains came out.
The free weekend brought me back after several years and since it was free an old college buddy played with me. We had fun. Then we made villains. Me as a robot mastermind, and him playing the biggest baddest robot of them all. Holy cow that was FUN!
I think joining a static group would be fun, but realistically I'm not sure what the chances are of this. However, I would LOVE to be part of a group, or a supergroup that just had theme days for fun. Stuff like "everyone show up as a carnie" or "everyone come as a zombie, following one all powerful Mummy costumed mastermind" or "everyone be inspired by a zoo animal!"
I don't have to be the mastermind at the head of this troupe, I'd dig being one of the many nameless troops following cobra commander, or one soldier ant among a crowd following the queen !
The key to me would be to shake it up now and then. To rotate who's idea was being used for the theme night. And with the free 14 day trials we can easily get old friends to come back and try it out with the perspective of "hey lets all be crazy clowns for a day, its FREE!" I bet some of them end up liking it and coming back for more of CoX.
So if your super group does things like this. Or if you are intested in doing something like this please post!
For the mean time, I'm off to perfect the costume of my minion to the next great diabolical mastermind
