FF is still usable, if you go for the -acc debuff on the heroes, the defence of FF helps really alot (stacked prefered :P).
And it has been discussed many times, RSF favors certain builds/sets, but also (if enough players) picks certain sets above others. This case Mercs are biting the dust. Why you shouldnt complain here? If your set is only usable with use of Shivans, leadership and a Nuke, whats the whole freaking use of your set then? (by far, Mercs damage is pants)

1. Mercenaries do decent damage most of the time.
2. The goal in the LRSF is to debuff the heroes so they can be killed. Mercenaries will do damage when this goal is achieved.
3. Everyone should bring shivans. It takes 10-14 minutes, that does not make any AT more or less useful. It only saves time.
4. I am not the one saying any sets are useless here. LOL.

The debuffs? *looks at his Merc/FF*

I was speaking of the LRSF in the context of this being a team effort, not individual builds vs. solo content. The team should be able to debuff the Heroes with a proper plan.
If you think your individual build will gimp the RSF, get a debuff nuke from Warburg. Take the Leadership pool if applicable. Use Vengeance on Shivans. Much better than complaining here. the only thing you can possibly achieve with this, is NOT to be allowed in a RSF team. What's the logic in that? Sure beats me. :-)

Congratulations Pyrophilia. One of the harder AT's to master, I dare say. But you did it for sure. :-)
--- -
Congratulations, Tox. Well done. And we got the Formula 13 in the process. Who knows what powers will be released unto the unsuspecting world now, in your Smurfable hands!
--- -
This is a slightly curious post. After much thinking, the best would be to have both in the team.
That way you will be twice as good. And should any of you be better than the other, we are talking about good + good + better. We might thus be getting the value of 2.2 players for the price of merely 2! Not bad!

Post your experiences if you go through with this. And enough Merc bashing, guys. It's all about the debuffs, in the end. :-)
--- -
Good job guys. Well done. A special thanks to a certain MM with vengeance. Without that, it would have been pretty much impossible.
--- -
Congratulations, and well done! Again. ;-)

I can join with Astrum Radius. Level 50 Rad/Rad, if you still got a spot that is. ;-)
--- -
That was a little bit speedier than anticipated. A little bit. ;-)

They will never make such things at any rate. Would require new skeletons and animations. CoH/V is big on recycling existing material, with a limited budget for new creations.
There was talk of a Demonic MM set, if they could find the time. Looks like more recycling to me. At any rate the only thing that might, or might not, pop up for a good old long time. With regard to MM's that is. ;-)

I tend to re-issue the bodyguard command, or force them to a spot with the goto command, as you risk one or two of them not doing much at all, left to their own devices. At least one of them seem to lag behind when you move a lot, and can be found eating popcorn and enjoying the show from a safe distance. ;-)

It's high priority, so we are just looking at a few months here.
It was fun times at any rate.

Personal attacks can be used for pulling, finishing off a player or NPC, and generally add to the damage output. Aggro is what you have bodyguard mode for. I disagree with the notion that the personal attack is useless, at the very least.
I have had many uses for my personal attacks, at the highest level. It all come down to how busy you are with your secondary stuff. IMHO. :-P

Congratulations! They say even the Grandville flyer came out the day you leveled. Surely a sign of great things to come!
-
If you need to free up slots, drop one of the patron powers. You already got -fly and a great AoE hold now.
Your personal weapon is good for stopping fleeing enemies with very little HP. And concept builds are more fun. The primary purpose should be to have fun!
Detonator is also very fun to use, despite my negative comments. What is there not to love about blowing stuff up? ;-) -
As I said, I would rate the poison trap one of the top three trap powers. And as I said, works well with the trip mines. The trip mines will be much more situational w/o the poison trap. ;-)
Want to know what the problem with detonator is? Slow activation. Your wounded pet is dead before it goes off, or the mobs will move. You also have to blow up your best guys for the big bang. If you are looking for a reliable constant damage source, this is not it. :-P -
I am just going to chime in, and say that the Poison trap offers a *very* lovely hold + puke effect against "normal" enemies, and a nice -regen + puke effect on EB's/AV's/Heroes. I do not consider it bad at all, would in fact rate it as one of the more important powers in the set. After the acid mortar and the force field generator of course...
The poison trap in the poison set is however said to be bad. But that is another story. Not to say another set. ;-)
The Detonator is very, very situational. It won't save you often. It's there for the coolness factor I guess. Use trip mines for damage, put down the poison trap and hold them, then put down mines, and blow them up. Very fun!
Drop Detonator, and put some slots into the Poison Trap for holds and recharge. Take Maneuvers and slot it as well. I know it's not recommended by a lot of people, but with the Black Scorpion Shield and Force Field Generator, you got some nice stacking going. I am well aware everyone will tell you maneuvers is rubbish. I still say it will help *your set*. But feel free to disregard. ;-)
