I feel that I must now start playing Villains much, much more than I do. *heavy sigh*
Me "I'm eating dinner in the computer room for the next week's holidays hon."
Hon "Uh huh." *staring in disbelief*
Me "No really, I have to be able to argue in the CoX forums better and I don't play CoV enough"
Hon "Uh huh" *eyes widening, mouth slowly pursing tighter*
Me "You don't understand I real " *WHACK*
Hon "Cast Iron, not just for frying an egg...
Thanks..... CoV here I come.. Any suggestions for playing in the new PvP areas? *ducks another cast iron frypan* -

IDEA:
1. Remove *ALL* XP gains from PVP zones. All debt incurred in PVP zones nullifies gains of PVP zone prestige or inf until it's cleared naturally....

This is so constructive it's awing.
Were PvP going to change, your suggestions would make a great and likely a very busy PvP enviro. Sweet.
I agree re the debt burn off, however, doubling the rewards could be risky. Would anyone even bother to play PvE anymore? lol. Sorry.. I'm still lost at the problem with playing in an "at your own risk area".... your ideas are fantastic though.
Until the changes though....
Enter At Your Own Risk.
And as a side note: with all the kvetching about the I7 bugs, can you even begin to imagine the whining and crying about the bugs that would happen if your changes were actually implemented? lol! Whhheeeee!! -
I won't explain what has been explained at lease 1000 times throughout these forums re badges in PvP, NPC debt, fair/unfair practices blah blah blah ...I simply say again.
PvP
=
PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER
You dont' NEED all the badges in the game, some are optional or gained through happenstance, as far as I know, the ones gained in PvP are optional or happenstance. (I KNOW I'll be corrected on this! lol) Therefore, having the knowledge that PvP may get you slaughtered (and you've been fore-warned prior to entry to enter at your own risk!) entering simply to gain a badge is -
UP
TO
YOU.
PvP. Player versus Player. No rules, not necessary to go in should you choose not to, and you're warned before hand of the dangers.
I say again, don't like the rules re PvP, don't "enter at your own risk". Don't risk. Stay safe in the world outside it. It's your choice. CHOICE.
Sheesh.. -
I have a lvl 33 on Tri but live on the west coast so wanted to join a wc server figuring the folks that are on it would be up when I am!
I read this thread and just about shed a tear or two.
I picked Protector and I have had the best experience so far. It seems that all the folks that play on Protector are just great.
Thanks for reposting this thread.
It's awesome and so is Janlee.
It's true that happiness comes from within, and it always wants to escape to fill the space outside. Janlee, you must have found some happiness to have positively touched so many of us. You are truly a philanthropic person and the world is damn lucky to have you in it.
Thanks from a Canadian who just found faith in humanity again. -
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Don't like the way PvP in CoH is set up? Don't come in.
Don't want the debt? Don't come in.
Don't think you should be targetted without some sort of rules to meet your maker? Don't come in.
Don't understand basic concepts? Don't come in.
Can't read the WARNING at the entrance or understand the WARNING given by the Security Office? Don't come in. Or if you do, don't come on here cryin' about "unfairness" or "unsportmanship playing" or "TPing you into a mess of NPC's is nasty". You got busted up, annihilated, a** whacked bright blood orange red... suck it up, write down the nasty buggers name who did it to you, go lvl up some, then challenge that player to a one-on-one. Jeesh...
As a lvl 33 who got their butt kicked yesterday in pvp...to coin a phrase to that sob that totalled me "I'll be back." lol! He got his shortly after anyway. Sucka!!He'll get it from me soon too...
Really, all the whining about PvP attacks, what part of Player versus Player are those people missing??
PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER.
Hmmm... this concept seems pretty self explanatory and simple to me.

This is my FAVORITE post!
I totally would love to have a huge red ball to just fire at on occassion!! It WOULD be soooo much fun!!
YAY BIG RED BALL!! -
This is such a great post.
I have 6 def varying pwrs; 4 cont; 1 tank (not too particular on tanks...) 3 scraps.
1 lvl 8 blaster/blap elec/elec because of this post and - I love him. The challenge is excrutiating, exhilarating, wonderful, horrible... i've almost stopped playing my other toons because sometimes, they're just too easy.
Thanks for this post. It changed my gaming experience! -
Must agree re the Controller vs Def if you don't care about damage. I have a lvl 21 Grav/Force Cont and he plays well on a small or full team. Keep those villains up in the air!
Also, kin/dark Defender - awesome char. in a group. But you really do have to be on the ball all the time.
If you want a really insane challenge, try a TA/Archer Def on a well led team. I have a lvl 8 TA/A def and although the pwrs are a little questionable re loadtime and end useage, I've learned an immense amount about planning strategy, patience and when to run! I too am not too concerned about debt, more play technique.
Either one you choose, if you don't heal, remember to add that little nugget into your Team info. You'll still get asked (ad nauseum) if you heal, but really good Leaders will always read your info first.
