  1. I'll fix it tonight, when I get home.
  2. You should use all themes. Say a division to each era?
  3. [ QUOTE ]
First run = Great fun, thanks to everyone for coming.

And sorry for potentially creeping people out

    Looking forward to next week!

    [/ QUOTE ]

If we were looking for ordinary people it wouldn't be fun at all

Thanks for joining everyone. I had fun - nuff said. As for the TFs and since we do travel time, I guess we can run them all?

Btw, 'Eternal Court' is up. Both SG and channel.
  4. Hey folks. Just confirming that I'll be there tomorrow. My secondary will most likely be TA. Still trying to come up with a decent name.

    EDIT:
Btw, I went to Cirque du Soleil last night and I must say it was one of the best experiences of my life. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good show with live music, fantastic sound effects and lighting, ace performers and - of course - the most amazing cossies ever.
  5. I do have a cossie for Sir Evenhand if you want. It's nothing elaborated tho. It's just how I pictured him in my mind.

As for K's idea, I really don't mind. I just think we should wait for monday and see how it goes.
  6. The way I see it Kinetics can fit any origin.
  7. I'm impressed no one came up with gladiators or viking toons just yet.
  8. I'd suggest getting your toon to L3. On monday we meet and do Atlas sewer 'til L5-6.

Then go to Hollows as it is the most medievalish cenary in our level range. Also, we could do the Cavern of Transcendance after completing this guy's arc (can't recall the name - the one with Atta mission).

This should take us all to around L15.
  9. I've came up with this little idea so we could all get busy while we wait 'til Monday. Following Knightly's line of thought, Sir Evenhand found this ability/way to time travel and recruit heroes in order to fight for the greater good.

That said, I'd suggest each player creates his own Mission Arc explaining how did Sir Evenhand got to your character. You could make your character the captive, and then work the environment and foes according to your background. The MA contact would be Sir Evenhand (we would have to create his costume so every arcs have the same conctac) who would send some hero across time to bring you back to him and join his cause.

It wouldn't have to be too elaborated. One mission should do the trick.

Bare in mind this is not a requirement to join the SG/team. It's just a little extra something to keep you busy and entertained.
  10. Think I've got a toon for each age now:

Prehistoric - Warshade (think it totally fits as one of the first species living on earth)
Medieval - Plant troller. Secondary yet to be decided.
Futuristic - DM/Shield scrapper or Rifle blaster

Can't wait to start this. I'm happy to join both prehistoric and medieval teams if we can set a time for it.
  11. I don't think rifle could fit in medieval age, mate. You can save that one for futuristic team tho.

As for medieval, I'm sure something will cross your mind. Sorcerers, alchemists, priests, forseers, knights, barbarians, giants, orcs, elves, etc etc.

    EDIT:

    Hehe, Knightly is on fyah.
  12. Yep, that's my point Carni. I guess it's ok to go with Tech/Scientist if it fits on character's concept.
  13. Hey chaps. I've been really busy with college work, that's why I haven't checked the forums lately.

Mondays are a fine day to me too. Seeing everyone is leaning towards Medieval theme, seems like a good idea to start with that one and see how it goes. This topic will stay active should other players and teams eventually come up.

As for the SG name, I really can't come up with anything yet. Cheap names cross my mind such as 'Time Travellers' or 'The Contemporaneous'. None of them amaze me tho.

Regarding my toon, I'll most likely be playing a shield Scrapper but I might consider a support toon aswell. Will think about it for the next few days.

    EDIT:
Is it set that Medieval origins will be magic and mutation? I don't know much about medieval history but for the best of my knowledge the greatest minds and science/tecnology genius lived in that period (Galileo, Copernicus and da Vinci just to name a few).

I know I'm nitpicking, just wanted to be sure
  14. Just gathering up all the data we got so far.

Themes: Prehistoric, Medieval and Futuristic times

Members: False Fiction, Knightly, Xemulas, Kindeller, Cynic, Carnifax and uther dracus. (and Sapphic Neko?)

    Players availability:

False Fiction: 19:00 to 23:00 BST (weekdays except tuesday) and Sundays after 18:00

Knightly: Every evening 19:00 BST (except fridays and saturdays)

    Xemulas: Every evening 19:00-24:00(except Sundays)

    Carnifax: Weekdays 20:30 BST

Uther Dracus: Weekdays 19:00 BST (except tuesdays and fridays?)

Cynic: Weekdays 19:00-22:00 BST (except fridays)
  15. My personal preference would be Medieval > Prehistoric > Futuristic.

I should be free around 19:00 to 22:00 BST weekdays (except tuesdays) and sundays after 18:00.

I also have no problem with pacts.
  16. Sounds good to me. We do need to sort the origins and powerset restrictions for each group. If everyone else agrees with Knightly's idea that is.
  17. I totally agree with mixing ATs and powersets. I'm fond of ancient/medieval/retro themes. As for suggestions, I haven't come up with anything too complex yet:

    - I've been trying to come out with something related to the origins of powers. We would be like an ancient entity - the very first heroes who would end up being the only true heroes after the expansion 'going rogue'. This goes a bit in the line of Knightly's superteam: at least 1 representant of each AT.

    - Tribal theme: shamans, herbalists, hunters and fighters. 1 2 3
  18. I'm looking forward to start a new themed group. What will be the theme? That's what I'm hoping we can discuss in here.

For those who've never been in a themed group before, this is a good chance for you to give it a try. There's something special about themed groups with a cool background, specific costumes and all that. It just makes it way more fun to play.

So, I'll be visiting this thread over the next few days and see if there's enough interest on this. Hopefully there will be some feedback and lots of ideas flowing so we can get to a consensus by the end of the week.

We also need to discuss the best time and days for us to gather up.

    Let the discussion start!

    EDIT:

    - This is not a superteam, but we will eventually perform just as well
    - We'll be playing on Defiant server
    - We won't be farming/PLing (although we can do MA missions)

    Ill/Storm

I see your point Jamie, I just didn't want to lose DPS by spamming Gale. This is the build I'm considering (still needs some tweaking):

[u]Click this DataLink to open the build![u]

I could drop Snow Storm and go for Superior Invisibility so I could splat another LotG proc, but the return would be minimum.

    Ill/Storm

My stormy just hit L40 so I'm starting to plan the final build. The goal is having Perma PA while not screwing up my key powers and staying away from the damage purples. The closest I've came up with was perma hasten and PA 2secs short of perma.

I haven't saved the build, so I shall post it when I do it again.

Meanwhile, I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. The only restriction is damage purples. Other than that, it's fine.

    Cheers.

Some possible reasons why it doesnt record sounds.

    Sorted. Thanks.

A hearty congrats to you, good sir! Fine work!

I remember making it all the way to the end of the ITF and having to give up in disgust... couldn't pull the bleddy Nicti(?) off Rommy.

The kicker? I was on a team...

    So much fail.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank you! I took my time figuring out how to pull it. But then again, my goal was to solo the TF so I really had to keep trying.
  22. I'm planning on doing it again this weekend, this time with absolutely no insps and decent demos. The thing is, I've been testing Wegame and it doesn't seem to be capturing sound - anyone knows why?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Doesn't one of the Nictus have an autohit PBAoE doing something around 700 damage every 10 seconds? I remember something like this from doing the ITF with my SR scrapper. Last 5 to 10 ITFs I've done with ranged ATs so don't know if it has been changed.

If it hasn't, did you just avoid the ~70 DPS coming from that by clever footwork?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It took me quite a while to figure out how to beat this one. The auto-hit Nictus uses a PbAoE of negative energy every 5-6 seconds. As I got some resistance against that type of damage, it would only hit me for 481dmg.

Now, the whole fight felt a bit like I was dancing with the Nictus. I had to control the timing so I could kite in and out of the PbAoE radius in order to avoid the damage while not hurting my DPS too much. Sometimes I had to let it step my foot to max out my DPS.

So, basically, what I had to do was charge as much as I could when DP was up (here my regeneration rate helped a lot) so I could max out my DPS and take the most out of the stacked Blinding Feint.

The whole fight you have to be aware of a few things:

    - The distance between the Nictus and Rommy. If it is too far away, the Nictus will run back to Rommy. If it is too close, Rommy will aggro and you're doomed. I find the perfect distance to be either right inside or outside the big circle on the floor.

    - If you kite too far away, the Nictus will run back to Rommy.

    - If you kite too close to Rommy, he'll aggro.

    - If you kite out of the radius too soon, the Nictus might run away.

    - Lag/wireless is bad for you.

Here's the demos of the whole fight:

Shattersteel vs Auto-hit Nictus (Part 1)

Shattersteel vs Auto-hit Nictus (Part 2)

Again, having no interface takes away all the intensity of the fight. I was really close from dying 3-4 times. Also, I almost lost the aggro once - which would get me killed and by the time I got back from hossie the Nictus would've regen about 25% of its HP.
  24. Here's the fight against Requiem (3rd mission):

    Shattersteel vs Requiem

I am really dissapointed with demorecord as it doesn't show the interface (nor the sound, apparently). After uploading and seeing the video myself, I found it quite boring as you can't see my HP going up and down, my end bar nearly crashing, or how fast Requiem was losing HP or regenerating. It just takes away all the drama of the fight. From now on I'll be using Wegame for demo purposes.

Anyway, that's the first fight. It went smoothly. All I had to do was to be sure that I always had enough HP to survive a possible hit of Shadow Maul (it hurts A LOT).

EDIT: Also the quality of the video and the camera angle weren't the best. Guess I still have a lot to learn when it comes to demo/video recording. I'll try and do a better job next time.
  25. Why thank you DB is nowhere near as bad ST as people advertise it. As I said, I popped insps against Rommy (including reds) but I probably didn't need it - at least not the red ones, I'm sure. After 8 hours I just wanted to finish it because I was afraid the server would go down for maintnence again (it happened the first time I beat the healing and summoning nictus), which would reset the whole mission.

It seems my demos won't show the UI of the game, but I can still post it. You won't be able to see my HP or the AVs tho From now on I'll use Wegame.
