  1. How about "Afk Responding to an important message$$autoreply"
Although you may have to reverse it or the afk message may disappear.

For managing enhancements I use a bind similar to below:
    control+e "e explain$$manage$$afk Upgrading my power armour"
The AFK message seems to dissapear almost immediately recently.
Anyone find any tricks to keep the AFK message up?
  2. helpme, nice, kinda Tru Callingish, 2 things:

Who are Big Brothers and Sisters of Paragon (Wouldn't big siblings have been shorter?

You may want to put a disclaimer in there to avoid those needing help because they've been playing a week and haven't made it to 50 yet.
  3. it uses commas and quotes for different things.
Quotes are used to group multiple words into one argument for a command.
  4. I can't believe that works, it goes against all the rules for double and single quotes I know. I guess as it's only one command you probably don't need the outside doubles anyway though.

Just one question, what is the command to show what coordinates you are at?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Type:
    /loc

    [/ QUOTE ]

you can bind a key to it in the options screen too, makes it easy.
  6. Maybe you could redirect all the mesasages to /dev/null . . .

Hey all. Well, i'm trying to make a macro to invite the "$target" to a channel and also send 'em a tell. The channel name is Triumph Help. I tried /macro 911 "chan_invite "Triumph Help" "$target"$$/tell $target, blahblahblah" but that didn't work, nor did /macro 911 "chan_invite Triumph Help $target$$/tell $target, blahblahblah". Any advice? :]
    -LP

    [/ QUOTE ]

I noticed you had a slash in there, no slashes in binds or macros.
I think because the channel name has a space in it this may not work as one macro. You need to surround the macro with quotes, becuase it has the $$, and you need to surround the channel name with quotes, otherwise it will think the channel name is Triumph, and the invitee is "help", will give you a too many arguments error I guess.
You could try single quotes, can't recall if that works or not.
    Try this:
    /macro 911 "chan_invite 'Triumph Help' $target $$t $target, blahblahblah"
  8. Really? Doh, got that from the bind command listing . . . thats a bugger.
    /reply also doesn't work?
Both are in there . . . I'm at work now, Japan time, anyone else have any ideas?

I even saw him using Crippling Asskick. Even geko wouldn't take that power and he designed it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually Foreshadow uses Thunder Kick, followed by Dragon's Tail.

I'll say this, watching Manticore teleport into action made me respect teleport for once.

    [/ QUOTE ]
He teleported like 4 feet! I could only see a TPer doing this if they just finished a tp, were out of range by a bit, and didn't want to wait for the hover to wear off.

The big scorpion guy looks like a Tank.. and he gets knocked flat while some sharky scrapper just shrugs it of? Uh oh.

[/ QUOTE ]He wasn't glowing, no rocky body, no armour auras, he either a) forgot his toggles (just got back form the evil hospital after Synapse blasted him) or b) he's a a blaster also and is just trying to tank or c) he's a scorptail/dark armour scrapper, that would explain his weakness.

Autoreply is the command that starts a tell to the last person you received one from. I think the auto can be taken off there huh.

You would have to make a bind for each phrase you want to use. I guess there are enough examples of that in this thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I tried reply - coh didn't like the command. lol

If I start the reply, is there a way to paste the text I want in the message using a bind or macro?

    Thanks

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh heh, I meant that it should just be reply, not auto reply.

    You could do this:

shift+p "r <bgcolor #00000099><color LawnGreen><bordercolor LawnGreen> Sure I'll PL you, my fee is $50 US per hour, paid in advance. Would you like my account info?"

'r' is for reply chat, /r in game
That should work. If you want to just start with something, then finish it off, you could use this:
    shift+p "show chat$$beginchat /r <bgcolor #00000099><color LawnGreen><bordercolor LawnGreen> So you want to be PLed huh, "

There is a max string length though, so watch out for that, only the recipient will see the bubble, so you could take the colour stuff out.

I was looking to create a few binds with "canned" responses to some tells that I have been receiving increasingly more frequently.

However the autoreply command says it takes 0 arguements. Any suggestions on how to do this?

    Thanks.

    Sooo...who's the Jet Li wannabe?

That would be Jet-Li, or JetLi, or Jet1i or Let Ji, one of those guys.

    Nice.

Anyone notice how Lord Recluse sounds a bit like another "Dark Lord"???

I half expected him to say- "Statesman. I am your Father."

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was surprised no one else mentioned that! Even his accent, did they get James Earl Jones to do his voice, or just an impersonator? I thought a multiple overlaid echoy voice would work, as Darth is going to be in the spotlight again . . .

What kind of parody lines can we throw into the clip . . .

Now witness the power of a fully operational green glowy crystal thingy! (OK, not Darth, so sue me)

(to Statesman) If you will not join us, then perhaps your sister will!

You underestimate the power of the Spider side!
  14. I notice a lot of Freak bosses are named after Hip Hop artists, one that comes to mind is the <Something> tha Damaja, Named after Jeru tha Damaja.

Word up, my homie, as it were.

Another thing to remember is that you don't have to include the LBUTTON in your bind; you'll have to click it anyway though. For Recall Friend, I recommend not including the LBUTTON, so you can give someone a chance to yell, "Wait!"

    [/ QUOTE ]
Thats what promt for team teleport is for
For when they may not have time to type . . . (you can click while running)

    /bind <any key> "+ $$powexec_name Energy Transfer$$powexec_name Teleport Foe"

This worked well by clicking for TP and releasing for attack.

I was surprised to be getting read error messages using the bind files solution. No amount of tweaking could make it work.

    Thx guys.

    [/ QUOTE ]

i tried this bind. it will ask me for the location for teleport foe while the attack is on its way. O_O what did i do wrong? here is my bind:
    /bind lalt+z "+ $$powexec_name mental blast$$powexec_name teleport foe"
    please help. ty

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, yes you can't get aroud the click for choosing the location, forgot about that, you will have to bind it to a mouse click with a chord key (control, shift or alt) Try this:

    /bind lalt+lbutton "+ $$powexec_name mental blast$$powexec_name teleport foe"

Hmm, but do mouse buttons work with the "+ "? Anyone? Bueler? Should, come to think of it.
So you hold alt and click with the mouse.
Haven't seen this done with ranged attacks before though . . . Why do you want to teleport an enemy beside you for a ranged attack? Just curious. ;D
  17. Wonder if that wourl work for Japanese, I didn't try to hard, but the bind file wouldn't load it, although I could copy the lines out of there and make the binds in game.
  18. Read error messages for the bind file?
It can't read it at all?
If you are using XP or maybe even 2000 it could be you have created a text file that CoH can't read. You should save as an ansi file, not unicodein notepad, can't test if this is the case now, at work. The easiest way to make sure the file is compatible is to save your existing binds, then edit that file. Use /bind_save, it will save a file called keybinds.txt in the root of your C drive (posibly your system root if its not C)

For my Dark Defender I could do it like this:

    (after selecting team target)
/bind lcontrol+lmouse "t $target, Ever been violently pulled through a hole in the nether world before? Well now's your chance!$$powexecname recall friend"

    [/ QUOTE ]

if that is what exactly you have in your binds, there are a few mistakes.
1). lmouse, should be lbutton (if im not mistaking, there is not such thing "lmouse")
    2). powexecname, should be powexec_name
    hope they are typos :P

back to the topic. yes. i did same binds as you. but the problem is, for example, i have a earth controller. i already have 3 Located AoE, i couldnt find any other key combination for my pets AND recall friend. anyone has good ideas? ty

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oops on the mouse one, I thought it worked both ways, oh yeah, it's lbutton or button 1, and the underscores are optional. Makes it easier to read, but works without it.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

You can only combine shift/alt/ctrl with other keys. Your combination of numpad2+lbutton will not work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

so for recall binds, u will HAVE to use mouse to select the location?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You could use a key to select your team mate, they lcontrol/lshift/lalt+lmouse to select the teleport destination and activate the power at the same time. For my Dark Defender I could do it like this:

    (after selecting team target)
/bind lcontrol+lmouse "t $target, Ever been violently pulled through a hole in the nether world before? Well now's your chance!$$powexecname recall friend"
  21. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    /bind <any key> "+ $$powexec_name Energy Transfer$$powexec_name Teleport Foe"

    [/ QUOTE ]

The won't work. The only two ways to activate two click powers with one key is to either use powexec_auto with one, which will put one attack on auto (of course) or make two files:

    file1:
    <key> "+$$powexec_name Energy Transfer $$bind_load_file <path name of file2>"

    file2:
    <key> "+$$powexec_name Teleport Foe$$bind_load_file <path name of file1>"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats exactly the same thing I wrote earlier in this thread! Then one of the binders better then I posted the plus space intro thingie. I thought I'd just save BindWhore a post.
Guess I'l have to try it myself.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Whenever I try to chain TP Foe and an attack (Energy Transfer, in this case), I get a macro which launches once and then queues said attack instead of going back to the TP Foe section.

    /macro BAM "powexec_name Teleport Foe$$powexec_name Energy Transfer"

Can someone point out my stupidity? Please?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Apperantly this might work:

    /bind <any key> "+ $$powexec_name Energy Transfer$$powexec_name Teleport Foe"

Normally you can only activate one power with in a action. If you assign it to a key the "+ " (notice the space after the +) tells it to do the command on key press and key release. You want to reverse the order of the comands, as the last command tends to get activated, each one cancelling the previous one. In the case of toggle powers the last power that would turn on gets activated. You could do this with 2 macros the first one caling the second one by its tray possition, but if you ever moved the second macros possition you'd have to recreate the first one.
  23. I had that happen to me the other day! I was flying and got stuck in the fly up possition. Stayed that way till I turned fly off. I remembered the post here and I though "ah, so this is what it was"
Would happen with hover I guess too.

    QUESTION 1:
Is there a way to /bind a Reset of all binds (such as the red button at the bottom of the Options/Controls Menu)? That way the newly added SoD set would not conflict or have to rewrite anything.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think the only way to do this would be to export the binds on a fresh hero using /bind_save. This saves your keybinds in a file called keybinds.txt, located in the root directory of your c: drive.
Then rename it and move it where you want and use that to reset your binds. You should add some nop commands in to keys that you have mapped yourself I guess. (nop removes all binds from a key)
