Quote:Quoted for truth. Show up when you can. We do our best to get everybody on team and included. If I remember correctly, the most we've restarted a tf so new folks could join was twice.I don't think it's a problem seeing as it's just a game and life comes first.

I'm going beam and iirc, so is King. We shall disintegrate indiscriminately! -
Quote:Feel free to join whenever you can, we'd love to have you. Once we get rolling, it really won't matter if new folks are red or blue side because we'll be going rogue in order to access both sides.Don't know if/when I'd have the time to join, but I'm planning on creating a Dark/Time controller once Dark Control is released and would love to tag along occasionally.

Ensign Fjerestad is rolled up and waiting in Mercy. It's been a while since we did a single powerset superteam. This one should be a lot of fun.
Welcome new people and welcome back old people. -
Quote:Illusion is a lot of fun and a solid set. There's a reason why illusion/rad controllers have been soloing everything in sight for a while. Consider this, with all the recharge from team buffs, your phantom army will be permanent and you'll be able to tank.I've been wanting to try Illusion for a while, so probably illusion/time controller for me.
On the other hand, multiple corruptors on a team means more chance at scourge. As soon as targets drop below 50% health, their health will start dropping even faster.
My suggestion is to play the powerset/archetype that you're most interested in. When we did the radiation team, I was strongly considering a fire/radiation controller because I had heard the stories about how great they were. But I decided on a blaster because I already had a fire controller and I thought there would be an abundance of controllers. My blaster is okay, but I'm strongly considering moving her to another server because i just don't enjoy playing her that much. -
I'll be there with a beam/time corruptor. Scourging and disintegrating will be so much fun!

Running the table is pool scrapperlock. Sometimes it just happens.

LRSF won't have changed yet.
Quote:Originally Posted by PositronNow we have said in the past that the character killed will be removed from the game, and this is mostly true. With the launch of issue 23 later this year, the character will no longer be in the game world handing out his Task Force (that duty will fall to someone else), and will have references to them removed as well. We didn't do this for Issue 22 because the story arc will still be in the midst of being released when that is launched, and we want the game to reflect the state at the end of the story, not the point five-sevenths of the way in.
EDIT-Baub's puter has arrived and is being assembled as I type this. -
Quote:There was lots of faceplanting, but it was a good learning experience. I, for one, learned that level 56 archvillains can beat up my mastermind and take her lunch money. We've done our first Lambdas! Many Interfaces were unlocked. Then we tried a MoM. And there was much gnashing of teeth.
I would love to have another go at MoM though. It's a rough trial for a small league, but I think we could pull it off.
I don't think we have done LRSF on the dark team. Ethereal Frost has it unlocked if that's what we end up doing. SSA#5 is an option for folks that haven't ran it. We could do a quick Numina for notices/xps for non-50's. -

Quote:This is very true. The advantage to starting in Praetoria was that any AT could show up. Now with the new tutorial, AT is chosen before alignment. We could start on any side we wanted. This is our first post-Freedom team, isn't it? We could potentially start Red, Blue, or Gold.
Praetoria- The story arcs are more challenging and more entertaining. However, when we start in Praetoria, there's usually a few stragglers that get left behind.
Red side- We could jump into running the new training missions or some Death From Below. There's also the option of running mayhems to work on Invader
Blue side- Like red side, we could jump into running the new content. We could also start running task forces for merits and credit towards Task Force Commander
I think there's pros and cons to starting in each zone. Praetoria is fun and challenging, but the group gets spread a little thin to go back and help stragglers. Villain side is also a lot of fun too. It's really easy to get around and the story arcs are fairly well written and entertaining. Hero side is the merit trough. It's got the most zones, but we have a big shiny base to get around.
My choice would be to go villainside. I think the last time that we started villain was the bladed team and that was a few teams ago. Praetoria is great, but we've started the last few teams there.
Just my 2 inf. -
Here's some of my ideas for a single powerset team.
1) Beam
2) Time
3) Poison
4) Gravity
5) Storm
6) Trick Arrow ( I know this has done before, but I'd like to see how well a team of TA corrs would do)
7) Kinetics (but not kinetic melee)
In other news, Baub's vid card died and we won't be able to replace it for a couple weeks. -

Tonight was the last ST night of the year and we ended it with a bang! Fade hit 50 and incarnated.
We are all set to get some notices on Sunday. Hope everybody has a safe and fun New Years Eve! -
Quote:Why wait till the next team for that? There's no reason that we couldn't unslot our alphas to give this a shot. The next question I have is if we're doing that for the challenge are other incarnate slots allowed as well?Hell, I'm willing to try the Apex/Tin Mage TFs with no alphas if we really want a challenge after we get a face melting team to 50.
Quote:Not everyone has to be a buffer, but there are some cornerstone buffs to each team and when I play a non-buffer, I ALWAYS pick up Leadership and then some other team friendly pool like Med or Conceal. Good times.

So I pose the question to the hive mind: is there a good melee defense set that we could use for a theme to (a) allow people to choose a new melee set, and (b) not stack so abusively as a support set would?
Just to throw my 2 inf to the subject, I think that all single power set options should be fair game. The only one that I'm on the fence about is kinetics because it could also include kinetic melee.
This is just my preference but I like the idea of a single power team because it does limit choices, and it also forces people to think carefully about what they bring to the party. The rad team and the traps team did have their moments when they easily stomped through everything but they also had their moments where they team wiped. Anybody remember the Mender Laz that had 117 deaths?
In order to make the dark team more challenging, masterminds were excluded. Future teams could exclude masterminds and trollers because at higher levels they can become overpowered.
It's my personal opinion that whatever we decide, there will be the possibility for abusive stacking. That possibility is part of the reason I decided to join the superteam. I'll admit to being a bit of a powergamer but I really think the idea of taking a group of AT's that usually can't solo well and succeeding at challenging content with them is lots of fun. -
Congrats to our newest 50-Ally Volt!
It seems to me that we have more than a full team of 50's now and we can start jumping into some itrials.
If anybody has not hit 50 yet, I'll be running xp teams on Friday for catch up. If that doesn't work for you, pm me on the forums or send me a /t in game to @EF. -
It just occurred to me that SSA #4 went live today along with the new itrials. If there's enough for two groups on Friday, we could run that as well.
Baub and I just ran the new itrials. So far, I'm not thrilled with them. They seemed gimmicky and had a learning curve. I'm guessing when more people know what to do, it'll be more tolerable. Just kind of frustrated that our first attempts were painful. -
Heya Raelina
I'm sorry to hear that your internet has been acting up. Hopefully *crosses fingers* it'll get worked out by Friday.
Good luck on the Discrete Math final! I have no idea what level of math that is but I'm certain it's more than I can manage. I have much respect for those that can make numbers behave and make sense.
There's a LGTF being planned for Friday and Ally Volt is 45 so you could join in on that. I think we'll be running at +4 so xps should be good. -
Congrats to the newest 50's-PC and Starry. The Eventides should hit 50 on Sunday. A +4 ITF should help with that. If anybody else would like to get in on that for xps or shard drops, please post here or send me a /tell in-game to @EF.
It looks like we've got a full team (and then some) of 50's. How about we start getting into some itrials? -
I don't know where I'm going
Only God knows where I've been
