    Season of Hope

Ascendant, this is one of ... no... THE best CoH story I have ever read. You have an awesome gift with words, thank you so much for sharing this with us.
  2. Edward Stark (Cosmic Joke) is a professional hero. At 7'3" and 450 pounds, he does not lend himself easily to more mundane pursuits, so he makes his living off of the bounties of the bad guys he brings in. That and a modest investment portfolio given to him by his parents when he left home keeps the rent paid and food on the table.

Amanda Frye (Freedom Fries) has a teaching job at the Paragon School for the Gifted, where she teaches chemistry and physical science. She holds several degrees (double Masters in Chemistry and also Engineering from MIT), is an expert in metallurgy. She is also an accredited arson investigator for the Paragon City Fire Department, whom she works for on an on-call basis.

Maxamillian T Carnage (Max Carnage) is one of two sons born to Wolfgang R. Carnage, founder, CEO and Chairman of Amalgamated Bio-Works Incorporated. As such he has a very healthy stipend from his father, who not only approves of Max doing hero work, but sees that his son lacks for nothing for doing such noble service to mankind.

John C. Justice (John Justice) is a Deputy United States Marshal, attached to the Paragon City Police Department. He is also a forensic pathologist.

Thomas MacInnes (Major Liberty) was a stuntman for the motion picture industry working on the Major Liberty! series for United Film Productions. Tired of always being in the background and never getting credit for his hard work Thomas had a friend of his in the props department make him a more durable version of the uniform he wore on the set and came to Paragon City to actually become a hero instead of just playing one on the silver screen.

Louis R. Whitmore (Rocko Gibralter) is an expert civil engineer, who specializes in deep core mining projects. He spends more time as a technical advisor these days because his hero work leaves him little time for long absences from Paragon City.
  3. Cosmic Joke: Edward Stark, Mutant discovered at an early age he could wield cosmic energy and supercool the ambient atmosphere. After hearing about Paragon City, decided to try out life as a hero. Arrived with the intention of adopting the alias Cosmic Bolt because of his powers. Contracted with a local tailor to provide him with a snazzy blue/black/gold uniform. The day Edward was to register as a hero the tailor shop was blown to smithereens by the mutant fire wielder named Flame Lass when she got angry at the tailor. The tailor was only able to rescue the reject bin from the fire and poor Edward was forced into wearing whatever the tailor could slap on him. Edward was bequeathed the name Cosmic Joke by the lady at the Hero Registration office after seeing the outlandish and very comical uniform Edward was given. Edward now spends his days taking his frustrations out on hapless criminals and vowing to find Flame Lass and make her pay for his humiliation and his ruined uniform.
  4. First off:

/em snaps off a crisp salute to Burnsie

For the best RP guide I have seen in a long, long time. You have a gift for stating the obvious without making the reader seem like they should be riding on the short bus because they were doing things they shouldn't.

    Second:

/em gives McManus a "come on" gesture with his hand

Never be afraid to do your best McManus. Believe me the majority of RPers will recognize your efforts and reward you kindly for them. The stick in the mud perfectionists could find fault with the way a cow gives milk for Pete's sake ((you aren't mooing correctly! put some FEELING into it!)) so don't let them dissuade you from learning how to roleplay and having fun. Because that is the number one point to any role play - having fun!

And I will let you in on a little secret: All of us, from the best RPer to the most green RPer in the game started out just like you. Unsure, apprehensive and scared of making a major faux pas and having the entire server put you on /ignore. Just remember that when you start feeling that little doubt about your performance, or when someone who thinks they walk on water starts bashing your efforts. We were all new once, and we don’t walk on water, we just act like we do =)
