They say the world is coming to an end, and our great city is to go with it. The storm is coming and we cant stop it. There are those hopefuls that believe well all be fine. The smoke will rise and we will be left standing tall and victorious. Id like to believe that. Wish I could. Id like to believe Ill live forever. Hell Id even like to believe this whole thing is just one big terrible joke and someone is just waiting for the last second to deliver the punch-line and send everything back to normal. As Im coming to terms with our inescapable fate heroes all over the city are banding together, reminiscing, cheering each other up, and keeping hope alive. I sit at the Tiki Lounge reflecting on the life Ive led and the friends Ive made along the way. Born on a Rikti science vessel as a test subject I didnt see life having much in store for me. As soon as I escaped my life as a hero had already begun. The Vanguard took me in and trained me then sent me off to protect the city. Ive fought with countless thugs, madmen, and mercenaries. Ive righted wrongs and saved lives. Ive protected the banks from numerous villains and their sticky fingers. At times I even kept Icon from going out of business. From defending Terra Voltas reactor to putting Frostfire in his place; Ive brought peace, happiness, security, and justice to the citizens of Paragon City. I have seen my share of Nemesis plots, and Lord Recluses schemes. I have fought for and with the unforgettable members of the Freedom Phalanx and the Vindicators. Ive been locked in combat with super villains and sometimes even with other heroes. I have been over shadowed by my superiors and, over time, I have become a much decorated hero myself. I have grown deeply attached to the lovely people and heroes of this city. I have become a leader of what I believe to be one of the best groups of superheroes to ever exist. The great men and women that made up the group, no, the HOME I call Gli Omicidi are the closest family Ive had in Paragon.
We have all overcome so much. To look back at our accomplishments is breath taking. When the Rikti came back I was hungry for the front lines. Dead set on sending the bastards to their own dimension with their nubby tails between their legs. Us heroes geared up and, kicked them out of our city time and time again. We have taken down giants, quelled tratiorus armies, we even defied death itself!
We have become dimensional police. We kept Snaptooth at bay, saved baby New Year, defeated Lord Winter, partied with DJ Zero, and defeated the powerful Ruluru. We have been invaded by Praetoria and emerged victorious! We have become Incarnates. We have toppled the Magisterium and Emperor Cole with it! We have achieved what we thought to be impossible. Yet, why does this feel like the end? Like all hope has been lost? The menders in Ouroboros arent helping in that aspect. They worry and fret, wondering if our power will be enough to face what is coming to us, and with Statesman gone they may be right. Ive seen the future, and even as Ouroboros falls I will still fight on! I will continue to fight with every hero I have grown to know and love!
I say a silent prayer to whoever may hear it: for peace in this coming storm, for the millions of people whose fate depends on this coming battle. I am ready for whatever my fate will be. Should we fail I will at least know I that I tried my damnedest to win. The Shivans cant take that from me. From any of us.
A drink or ten shouldnt hurt even though the bartender has threatened to cut off my supply. Death is looming over our heads and hes worried about my alcohol intake. Unbelievable.
wow, someone should get out more, MAYBE, just MAYBE, the faultline donut was made to look like THE FREAKEN FAMOUS CALIFORNIA LANDMARK!!!!!
