1 night, I spent over an hour with a kid I know discussing what would be the best build for a character and doing so while on a hami raid! Talk about multi-tasking!

Thanks. I'm really feeling good about all the positive feedback. I have been thinking about this as a labor of love because I'm rather fond of my main toon and wanted to make her in 3D so I could make pics while telling her story. I might even try doing a comic style set.

Ugh! I finally did it. I got everything together that I liked and made this version of Flareback in 3D.

I did alot of the photoshop work on the textures to get them just the way I wanted. Basically, this took several weeks to piece together, color, pose, and post. I did all this with archaic Poser 4 and Photoshop 7.

I hope everyone likes. now off to do some more of my toons!!!

Welcome Ex Libris. I am Flareback. It is so wonderful to get an intellegent girl in here. If I may, I could recommend you pay special attention to the tomes on fighting techniques through out the ages and across the world. Also knowledge about the sciences will work out as well.

For myself, I resigned to reading up on the socialogical nature of humans when my family and I came to earth. You could say that we were illegal aliens, but we did try very hard to fit in and met all the requirements to stay, but with being dumped on earth from a trader vessel, it was rather difficult to say no to us. All in all, things work out and now we help out whenever we can for the good of the planet even if there are small groups that hate us for being different.

If you ever see what looks like a comet streaking across the sky, remember that it might be me and just give a wave if I pass close by.

Seriously, DJ, we need to get together so I can get group commishes from you. I would really like to get my toons in 3D. I've only got Poser 4 and I'm not the best at creating the costume pieces I'd need to make all my characters. Even if I could get the elements from you, I would be totally grateful.

Thanks, and yes we are very near Austin. What we were looking for was to mix local and national talents who might want to add another location to the mix. Locally, we have many, many people who are into anime and comics and because we have an interest in delivering quality events to our town, we were thinking of adding a ani/com/con so that the locals would get a thrill out of meeting others with the same interests and who produce great works.

Personally, I have no idea what it takes to put one of these things on and honestly I'm a bit curious about what it would take. For all I know, the schedule for artists who do this for the various companies are so full that getting a animecon in our town is impossible. But for my wife, I can at least ask around and see what comes up.

I mean honestly, how cool would it be if John Buscema came to your town?

Hello all. I've been tasked to find new networking avenues. My wife is looking to get a convention going in Central Texas for anime and comics. She has a point of contact, but they are slow on the return calls. I wanted to see how well the network is here. I know there are loads of people who would jump at a chance to be at a (insert prefix)con over at DA.

So, what does everyone think? Think that this is a good place to start, or do I need to go elsewhere?
