I've been having similar transition related problems. It started about issue 14. Oddly enough, when it hangs at the splash screen, I can usually break it out if I Alt-Tab to another program and back. But I also have had issues running from game lock to forced logout to computer restarting, always right at the beginning of a transition. It can be any transition, mission in, mission out, SG base, ferry, etc. as soon as I click the door or whatever. It's fairly rare but it can be a bit of a pain when my whole system reboots because I hit my Base.

This, in my case, seems to have been an issue with an older version of Skype and City of not playing well together. I updated Skype to the current version and this issue seems to have disappeared. I hope this information helps out.

When Do You Crash: Immediately after clicking on a transfer. 2x mission door, 3x base teleporter, 1x choosing character to log in.
Does it affect all characters: These are the only ones that I've had problems with so far but I've not been playing the full spectrum as much.
Does it affect only characters in one or more SG's or VG's: So far, only affecting characters from JUSTUS under my login. Others in the VG haven't had this problem and a character I have on Champion has not had this issue despite extensive playtime.

On occasion (4x Feb17 and 6x since start of Spring Event but never before that) I click on a mission door or other transfer point and my machine immediately reboots.
