I like my adobe software.
Adobe Audition is actually changed the Soundbooth in CS3. -
I have found that, with the resolution I record at, the Fraps watermark does not mean a thing. So small and everything is at the bottom so I just move the video up and make sure it is not visible.
All my attempts at demo editing have failed so I am just doing all the camera stuff when I am going to record it. -

And doc....sorry to hear about your file. But on the bright side (yes, always looking for a bright side) it cratered early enough that you've got time to rebuild.
[/ QUOTE ]It was only about a minute worth of footage that was placed together for that sequence. I made a low quality version though that I was using to get the effects in place so that works as a reference if I need it for some timing changes. -
Thanks Star, that is good to know.
I got myself working on my video again. Converted the footage I still needed to and then had to rebuild what I had already done because the project file was corrupt. -
I am not even going to worry about music till later.
Right now I am trying to work my way though the Mayhem Mission I recorded over the weekend. Should have actually used it to do what I needed and now I don't want to go through 5 missions to get another one. -
I know what you mean DR. I got a main sequence done so that I could start any effects I needed to do but since, I haven't really done anything.
-
I would say it depends on the resolution you play at and the video create is at. I usually just move all the trays up to the very top and film below that then go in and make sure nothing shows up that isn't supposed to be there. That is if I am actually going to record it right there instead of demo recording.
-
I am not sure if I am going to use my actual voice or create chat bubbles in after effects. Probably will just go with my voice and if I cannot edit it to sound better I will just leave it to the viewer to read it like they were in game.
I am kind of mad at myself because I haven't gotten anything done in the past few days for my video. After Effects keeps locking up on me at one part because I have too many particles going on screen. -

Seriously - Most of the hard part is editing the demo files. Once you have your "script", you can do seriously cool stuff using just Windows Movie Maker (on a PC) or iMovie (if on a Mac).
The CoX engine can do wondrous things if you know how to manipulate it.
[/ QUOTE ]And my flaw lies right there. Tried going through and editing the sequence I already recorded and just said forget it because I was getting nowhere. I prefer the approach of setting it up in game and as I record to a demo file and then going through and recording it to video. I try my best to set it up so I can do it that way. -

Well, my current YouTube limitation is 10 minutes unless I apply for Director's status.
[/ QUOTE ]Last I knew, Director status was just a setting. Things could have changed since I put my account to that but I don't know. -
What I meant was that it made me realize that overall, I am out of my league. Wasn't trying to mean it as I don't stand a chance against someone specifically.

heh, I just watched Dark_Respite's newest video and I will be honest, I feel out of my league here.

She can only take one of the prizes, right?

Aspire to be 3rd. That's my motto.
[/ QUOTE ]Haha, third would be nice but it won't even cover the cost of all the software I need once I get a nice and powerful Mac Pro to edit on. -

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah but I have only tried machinima once and I never even finished. -

From the looks of it, my chances are a long shot. The only thing that could remotely be considered in my favor is that I know how to do some video effects.
-
Sweetness.
Now I just need to trim down the first sequence I have shot without cutting something too much. -

I can almost hear those video processors at work and the charismatic cacophony of mouse clicks and Ctrl-Z's.
[/ QUOTE ]Ehh, haven't started on the game footage yet, trying to finish the base for an effect I am thinking of using. -
I guess I will just use what ever is part of the game experience like Mayhem Missions to some extent till we find out for sure.
-

If it says "No destruction of property", I'd say that setting it in a mayhem mission is a likely to raise an eyebrow at the judges' table.
[/ QUOTE ]Which it does and that messes up one of my thoughts for my video. -
I think this time I will actually finish my video as I already have a good general idea.
I will be honest though, I could go with first or second prize as well. -
Never tried it but it involves simply matching the color of the watermark so that it is no longer there as the entire video matches the color and then fixing it with color correction I think. Also been a while since I saw the tutorial.

Sure it's 'free,' that is if you don't mind Autodesk water-marking all your work.
[/ QUOTE ]True but it is not like I am going to be making some big 3D world with it, plus, I know a way in After Effects to get rid of the water mark. -

But the one I REALLY want to get (and learn)... is Maya.
[/ QUOTE ]Autodesk offers a free, personal learning, version of Maya for those that want to learn how to use it.

*attention comes to a screaming halt*
WHA-?!

For all my video needs right now, I just use Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. Don't have the money for avid and those programs seem to do what I need.
