  1. Thanks for the input Star. I am going through right now to make sure all of my shots are positioned right in the frame. I did do some demo editing in the form of replacing my guys costume on test with the one that he was supposed to be wearing from something I did on the live servers. Because I had no idea what I was doing and things at time did not want to work for me, I avoided messing with it otherwise.

I am thinking about going in tomorrow and creating a style of some sort for the video, probably will just be me messing around.

I hope to have a final version uploaded tomorrow night sometime.

Edit: I just realized that I had forgotten to reposition most of the frames though out my video when I meant to already have that done.
  2. Nice Star.

So I really hate the fact that I lose a day of work but I guess I will just have to make it up tomorrow. If anyone has any thoughts on my video so far feel free to let me know.
  3. So I decided to upload a low res version just to post and get opinions on but I ended up fighting with my computer and Fraps for a while. Kept telling me there was not enough memory for the damn codec so I finally had to set After Effects to purge the memory every 50 frames it rendered and that worked. Those problems though created some gaps where I had cuts when it rendered so I know about those already.

    My unfinished video.

There is absolutely no audio at the moment so if you watch it, you will just have to imagine something there. There are also some particles missing from a couple sequences as can be seen from my hero and villain test images. Those sequences might get some camera movement Thursday. Dissolves are planned to go between the time jumps that happen.

What I was going for was that a hero is tired of trying to find something to do so he gets the bright idea to create a way to change abilities completely to something more villainous. In the end he realizes he should stick to what he is good at, i.e. not being a villain.

I wish I knew demo editing cause I just watched it at full speed for the first time.
  4. omg, I was hoping to get into the top 5 but my doubts about that have increased drastically over the past couple days.
  5. Well I finally finished recording all my footage and putting it together. I should have it up Thursday night as I am going to be at Disneyland tomorrow all day.

Now I just need to decide if I want to include the NCsoft and Cryptic logo at the beginning or not as well as their copyright logo at the end.
  6. Really good job Ashcraft.

I am finally nearing the end. I just need to go through 4 demo files and remove unwanted things like chat dialog and floatdmg commands and then capture it to put all together. Then that is when I decide on voice over or chat bubbles.
  7. They really need to get things in order. Someone replied saying that multiple voice actors are alright if they signed releases, then I would go with that unless they get things in order and say no.

If they say no demo editing, I don't care. The only thing I did was change a costume with another one then remove float commands and chat dialog. Plus, it is just elements of the game in the end.

oh and is it ok to use my voice and change it using audacity or something imma sound like a transvestite woman argg

[/ QUOTE ]Thats why I am thinking I might just make chat bubbles in After Effects.
  9. Well 8baller, I would say still enter even if it is not accepted.

I wonder if recording the Microsoft Sam voice and modifying it would be against the rules. Was thinking about using that for a quick scene where I thought of having a couple robots talk.
  10. I wonder how many people from outside of the City Of community are going to enter and how many that are not active here.

I am finally making some progress on mine with about 2 minutes of video done and still some piece together.
  11. If they don't reply in time, send in the video and if they disqualify you, you have the right to argue it because they did not give you a working means to send your releases.
  12. I am fine with After Effects, I know it has the effects I need plus I own the full version. I think the problem is that I am not running it alone, I usually have Firefox going as well as AIM so those take up some memory it needs.
  13. I am starting to get aggravated with After Effects because it keeps locking up because of the sheer amount of particles in this one sequence. For some reason I decided to create my video where the guy changes his abilities completely instead of just changing costumes. It probably came about when I saw a certain effect on a tutorial site I go to often. Went through and reproduced the results and modified them a good amount so they fit better to come up with a result where my guy goes from hero to villain. I am thinking because of the amount of particles, I am going to have to render some out seperate and then replace them inside the sequence. This is really taking up too much of my time.
  14. I think those would be AVI files from WeGame.

I am starting to doubt mine because of lack of planning things out.
  15. All my video related files on my external drive use up about 200 gb. That includes other stuff as well like my VideoCopilot stuff and other projects. So far the clips for my video take up 22 gb because of the resolution which I am recording them at.
  16. I have demorecorded pretty much the last of what I needed the mayhem mission for, took a total of 5 mayhem missions for me to get what I needed because I wasn't paying attention in some fashion. So now I just have to convert that and then set up the last scene which should be simple.

If you crash while a demo is recording, the demo is gone. The game doesn't save any of the file until you zone or stop recording.

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, thats what I found out and now I am making stupid mistakes like accidently writing over a demo I needed which was the first part of the bank mission.

I must resist the urg to introduce continuity into my video, it would drive me mad to go from having 3 robot minions to only 2.

    Just isn't my day.
  18. I am redoing it. Working on the test server because my character is a little older there so I only have to do 3 missions for a new mayhem. This time though, I will be demo recording it and recording the bits with Fraps at the same time in case this happens again.
  19. I am starting to doubt my video and I haven't even finished converting stuff.

Now I am behind because as I was about to exit the mayhem I was on specifically to record some stuff, my computer gave me the blue screen of death and the demo file is empty.
  20. I am editing mine in 720p but I am thinking that I will bump that down to 720x480 with the video still being widescreen. Ever since I started working for a firm doing graphics work, I have been using .mov files so that is what I plan to export to.
  21. I am still not demo recording simply because I have had no success with it so far.

Well I guess I might try as I don't want to go through and get another Mayhem mission as I kind of got killed too early and had no time to finish what I needed.
  22. Right now I am recording and putting everything together with dialog in my head. Later I will go and record that and if I need to fix timing issues because of the audio, I will remap the timing for everything.
  23. So far my video is just under 1;05 but all I have right now is a single sequence. Still a long ways from done so I gotta kick things up a bit.
