This is true. I have a lvl 50 fire/earth dom. It is a powerful and high damage combo. In addition to Seismic smash, you also have fissure which has a disorient component. With it being an AoE, you get some additional control and of course it works with domination.

I must say that I have never been able to get into stalkers. I played them during beta and I made some on release of CoV. The best thing about stalkers when they first came out was PVP IMO. They were just fun. For teams, basically they were useless. Stalkers really didn't bring a whole lot to a team and I'd much rather have had any other AT to replace one. So I deleted my stalkers.
A few issues later, stalkers got buffed. So, I was a little tempted and rolled a new one. It was better but still I wasn't feeling it. I am a scrapper person. Then....
Kinetic Melee was introduced so I went back for more(KIN/NIN)...but something was different...it was awesome! I have finally found a stalker that I enjoy playing and I have my highest stalker ever at 45. I rarely use AS with KIN unless I catch a straggler. It's build-up + burst and nearly everything is dead or pretty close to it. KIN has some pretty heaving hitting ST attacks so it's easy and quick to knock off everything else.
Playing stalkers is certainly different and you have to understand that to appreciate one. I am still not a scrapper but I am at least enjoying what I do now. -
I don't have mids so I can't see your entire build but initially I was going to suggest depending more upon your secondary for damage. However, I saw that comment you made about her not being a blapper.
I've tried playing electric blasters in the past and ended up deleting them. The only one I kept for a while was for concept. I just didn't feel like I was doing what teams expect of a blaster and that's deal massive damage. Sadly, no one invites blasters to teams because of their awesome sapping abilities.
I have not converted any of my blasters to villains but perhaps you can look into that, maybe there is more damage to be picked up with an ancillary there and still stay with any concepts you may or may not have.
Good Luck! -
I am leveling one of these too. I think it is only at lvl 25 right now. I was wondering if hot feet is counter productive to burn? Hot feet has a fear element to it correct? Initially my thoughs were to go blazing aura and burn to avoid this.
I don't want to select hot feet and have critters running out of burn. On the flip side, doesn't hot feet have a slow element as well? If it does, will it be possible to slow everything down enough to burn 'em to death before they completely flee?
I have never played a /fire blaster so I am kind of learning as I go.Any advice is appreciated. -
If you like DP/EM, you may also like DP/ELEC. I have one at 50 and I find it is one of my favorites. It plays similar to EM, you have a few melee heavy hitters but it also has the added bonus of a damage aura and power sink. Usually when I run in, pop hail of bullets with lightning field running, there isn't must left standing. I pick off the one or two remaining with executioner's shot or a melee tap.
I have shocking grasp and char from the epic pool, I spam them as available and it helps me control any bosses I need to beat down in close range. Power choices can get kind of tight but I19 should help a bit. I may get assault since it requires minimal slotting. Power sink takes care of any end issues. -
Quote:Great Info! Thanks for posting. I guess the slowness is a matter of perception. I think KM is a great set and really don't have much to complain about. It hits hard and looks pretty. They are not slower compared to others. Lets compared with Broad Sword
Code:Kinetic Melee Cast Time Broad Sword Cast Time Quick Strike .83s < Hack 1.33s Body Blow 1.07s < Slash 1.33s Smashing Blow 1.2s < Parry 1.33s Repulsing Torrent 2s = Slice 2s Burst 2.67s = Whirling Sword 2.67s Focused Burst 2s > Disembowel 1.8s Concentrated Strike 2.83s > Head Splitter 2.33s
Now lets look at Fiery Melee
Code:Kinetic Melee Cast Time Fiery Melee Cast Time Quick Strike .83s < Scorch 1s Body Blow 1.07s < Fire Sword 1.33s Smashing Blow 1.2s < Cremate 1.5s Repulsing Torrent 2s < Breath of Fire 2.67s Burst 2.67s = Fire Sword Circle 2.67s Focused Burst 2s > Incinerate 1.67s Concentrated Strike 2.83s > Greater Fire Sword 2.33s

Just my 2 cents but it seems middle of the road for some ATs. I played it into the mid 20's on a brute and scrapper. I decided to roll a KM stalker and that's where it's at for me! I'm at lvl 44 on my stalker and absolutely love it. KM didn't feel right for me until I did it with a stalker.
As for the animations, they're pretty decent but slow compared to others. It's much more exaggerated on teams because you notice your animation is still going off when say someone with a broadsword or fire melee has already hit and killed a target even when you started the attack first. It doesn't bother me at all though, a dead NPC is what I like no matter who does it.
