If I can get Retro SciFi done in a timely manner I MAY be able to have some time to look into but I cannot promise anything and Clockwork01 owns my time.

I can make adjustments to the Back packs once they are final in textures, again most is WIP. The concept has them that big but since most think they are too big I can make them smaller.
Zombie Man: The set has already been scheduled out and all pieces are built so there will not be anymore new pieces, Sorry.
VoodooGirl: The rings are just that, rings, what details are you thinking of? -

Hey Guys!
Just wanted to share the progress of the Retro Sci Fi pack I have been working on since it is a "Community Project" the pics are "Works in Progress" so please keep that in mind ^_^
I have made plenty of choices for you to choose from and hopefully the pics will show that. The main costume is shiny fabric but I also made it to where you can pick the standard version that will go with all the other costume pieces. There are glowing and non glowing pieces that you can choose from.
I hope you will like it thus far and this is one of the funnest packs I have worked on ^_^
1. First up is the Male (yes this will be ported over to Female) and the bubble helm is working as it is a Detail 2 under Standard so you can pick whatever hairstyle, face or glasses you like.
2. One of the back details
3. The other back detail.
4. The female outfit. The hats, belts and Shoulders will be ported to Male and Huge.
5. Please take note the gloves are the Standard version and not the glow version.
6. This is to show a couple of the standard pieces and how they match the other pieces in the creator. There is also a version of the skirt without the bands/rings.
I really do hope you like it so far and I do hope we are going in the right direction.
Thank you for your help and support ^_^

Those feet have been fixed only it is not out yet. I would love to go back and fix some of the feet but again I must move forward. Maybe some time when I get a little extra time I can do just that but I cannot promise anything. I think the first feet are way too small but that is just my personal opinion.

Quote:I understand that shiny Orange and matte Orange look different.
But on the Celestial armor, I can make the really black parts lighter to match the grey of the metal plates so that they look just about exactly alike. Are you saying that those lighter grey metal parts can't get any darker because of metallic reflective shading? Or was that an artist's decision to make the armor two-tone and impossible to get all-black?
I will have to look into that when I get some spare time, right now my hands are full with Retro Sci Fi ^_^ -
Quote:Another "we love Dink" thread. I would say we need more of them, but then Dink would be out posting on the forums more than making costumes!!
This is true.....LOL I may be spending more time here than I should....*goes back to implementing Retro Sci Fi weapons into the game*
Kheprera: You can always suggest it in one of the Suggestion threads!
Nalrok_AthZim: I think now that we are using Normal Maps it changes the look ever so slightly, that may have something to do with it as we used to use plain old Bump maps.
Zyphoid: NP Glad to be of some use.... -
Quote:This is because on some costume pieces we use "Shaders" to make it look reflective so it is not going to be the same exact color. If we don't use a shader you will not get that metal look, it would just be flat.Dink, can you give any info on the current shaders on Celestial Armor?
The best way I can explain this is with a picture.
That applies to several of the new costume sets, especially Steampunk. Us players don't like our colors limited. Any word on whether or not this 'baked in' color will be removed to allow true color?
A lot of our costumes as of late have a lot of metal/reflective surfaces going on which is why that is happening.
Zyphoid: No bow and shield, there just was not enough time allocated for them. -
Quote:Here's a question...
Is this a similar reason why we can't have a skirts/shorts option with monstrous legs? Many anthromorphs walk around pretty bare...
That is a comepletely different area. We would have to add a new category in the Monstrous legs section and since the Geo is different on the Monstrous legs every skirt would have to be duped and re-built to fit to that Geo. -
Quote:Just out of curiosity... is the "skin to bone" limitation something that is impossible to change/upgrade in the game engine? Or is it one of those "just too much manpower and money required to commit to" kind of things?
I'm just wondering if at some point revenue should rise high enough, if we might not someday see real long skirts/robes.
It can be added but then ALL of the animations in the game would have to be redone or fixed ^_^ -
-
Quote:So there is no way to fake it by having portions of the "skirt" appear translucent? thus leaving the striped look?
I thought the above would be a nasty but ok way to so a loincloth style, invisible skirt geo mapped around the legs with a visible front and back.
- Raith
That could have been done but then there would not have been any depth to the plates, it would be just a flat plane.
The lack of having being able to skin to more than one bone is also the reason why we don't have long skirts in our -

For many reasons 3D art will never look as good as the 2D art. While we can do some really cool things art wise there are some limitations with our current technology.
The reason there is no middle flap is because of our skinning. We can only skin one vertices to 2 Bones max and in this instance since the flap would have been in the middle it would have needed to be skinned to 3 bones (Hips, left leg and right leg). I hope this makes sense. We do try our best to make the finished 3D look as good as we can with the resources we have.
Going back and polishing is not always (in fact seldomly) an option as I am almost always working on future costumes (I do spend time doing bug fixes). Sadly, as much as I would love to go back and polish everything however, my time is finite.
Thanks for your input and hopefully my answer helped -
Metallic top has been added to Shirts, Robes (Sleeveless also), Jackets (Sleeveless also), Trench Coat, Magic Bolero and Unique Tops and will be out soon

Thanks guys! I'm glad I was able to do it! I wish I could do more but then I would not have a life....not that I do anyways...lol
I'm a huge Male fan myself so don't worry about the females getting special treatment ^_^ there are good things coming!
I personally think we need some Huge love...lol poor guy -
Quote:It is never too late ^_~ I cannot promise anything but I will look into it!Firstly, Awesome. Now, I can finally use Baron-style long-ish jackets on female characters.
Though, there is one little thing missing.
I was fiddling on test with the Gunslinger belt, and noticed that male/huge characters do not have the Gunslinger belt 2 and 3 that female characters do. Specifically, worn under jackets w/o bullets.
I imagine it is way too late to add this option. Dang. -
ZOMG! sooo many posts
I'm happy that most are happy with this! in a perfect world I would give everybody what they want but until then I will do my best to make most happy
Now, I have some pm's I must address
Oh and thanks all for the ever so nice welcome, I feel so warm and fuzzy inside -
ZOMG the pressure
I hope this set turns out like you want! I have finished the female and (if I do say so myself) think she turned out pretty darn cool!
I am so excited to be working on this set (being an old movie buff)
Golden Girl: I gave the face a bit of a smile and toned down the normal map so it is more subtle. She, of course, is sporting the 50's look(Ann Francis comes to mind)
