  1. In response to the posts, I can say that every player has their own style. I write what works for me and hopefully for others. MM are not quite Brutes even though you can get Brute (patron) powers or through veterans rewards. The reason I do not simply run up to mobs and attack is an observation I made of myself and other players. When I would run up to a mob, I would either be attacked and killed by 5+ mobs, stunned to be killed, or held/put to sleep and killed. Yeah you can carry X number of breakfrees, emerges, etc., but why do that when you don't have to. Some of you are saying, I have resistant through my receipe sets. Well, not all of us can afford or play long enough to assemble all the receipe sets that would grant us ultimate resistance. My advice is for players starting new characters which they will develop through standard mission gameplay (Not AE farms). If you are leveling your characters through AE, you probable don't need my advice, or maybe you do. I just wanted a forum to give advice and write my thoughts. Thank you for reading.
  2. This is not so much of a detailed guide as a tip/advice column. With amount of players and interest, this information has been and will be repeated somewhere. If you are still reading, this is my inaugural addition to, hopefully, a continuing column. I will start with my favorite class of villains: the Mastermind (PART 1)

    1. Mastermind are controllers not Brutes or Stalkers; therefore, you should not run up to enemy groups to attack them. There are some exceptions which I wil go over, but as run you should you mindless minions to do you dirty work.

    2. Your minions cannot protect you from 50 feet away. If you are being attacked, your pets cannot attack your attackers if they are attacking someone else. More importantly, they cannot shield you from attack and are not empowered (Inherient Mastermind ability) to fight faster and better.

    3. You pets should be your primary powers. This is not say that you should not have any powers to protect yourself, but you should seek to add enhancements and powers to your pets first. Any powers for your character should be considered secondary.
