And now an expanded origin for Solar Tech. (Lightson, feel free to condense this as you see fit to hopefully mesh well with your larger team storyline. Wich is totally awsome by the way!!)
Steward Fritz was a born genius. He was no Einstein, but he definately saw the world differently from most people. He could look at a bigger picture. Without much effort he could actually understand the workings AND results of such things as chaos theory, quantum mechanics, and macro economics. And Steward Fritz had just ONE goal: [u]he would save the world! [u]
Steward knew this would not be easy, nor would it happen quickly. With humans spreading over every landmass, extorting and coercing everything they could from the planet. Measuring and manipulating every energy, radiation, and EM field imaginable. In its brief time here the human race was physically changing the planet in ways that had never happened in its immense history. Steward saw all this, and more. In matters of life and death men showed no heed to the consequences of their actions. Men would pay any price to save a life, or end one. Even sacrificing the planet earth herself, the great mother of us all. And more, he saw the greatest danger of all was war. As time marched on and humans created new and more deadly methods of destroying each other they would continue to take a greater toll on the planet.
Knowing all this, Stewards unique mind came to a simple conclusion: What the planet earth, and by extension humanity, needed to survive was a new way for humans to kill each other without destroying the earth in the process!
And to this end Steward has devoted his life. Hes getting on in years now, but his quest has not been in vain, nor has it gone unrewarded. He is a moderately sucessful inventor and holds several patents, but they are all just peices to his puzzle. R.M.D.'s: reusable medical devices to eliminate the trash from field triage. Miniturization of solar energy collection to provide power without stealing from the earth. Batteries with higher energy threshholds and heat sinks with no thermal leakage to store and release energy at levels no soldier could scoff at. Each was a peice of his puzzle, allowing mankind to wage war CLEANLY. To go off to fight without destroying the battlefield apon wich all our destinies depended. This was Stewards life work, and it had been sucessful! He even had his first working prototype.
And then he hit a wall.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aparently nobody wanted to listen to an old man talk about saving the planet. Not when it came to matters of war. He contacted general after general, nation after nation. Most never returned his calls, some openly laughed when the heard "solar powered weaponry". "Should we stop fighting on a cloudy day?" they said. Distribution was not a problem he had anticipated. But he wasnt beaten yet, there were others he could sell to: multi-national security corporations, independent arms dealers. There had to be SOMEONE looking for new weaponry.
He COULD try the Crey corporation. He had sucessfully licensed some of his early R.M.D. technology to them several years ago, and he HAD heard rumors they were expanding into superhuman securities. One phone call, and two days later, and he was sitting in a high level corporate office negotiating with some executive.
"Mr. Fritz, We at Crey Corporation would like to thank you for thinking of us. We have been very pleased with the R.M.D. tech you supplied to us in the past and we have already looked into your more recent developments. We have the videos of your demonstrations and the charts showing energy outputs. Very impressive stuff Mr. Fritz."
"Thank you." Something wasnt right here. Those videos were supposed to be classified.
"We are prepared to make you a very generous offer for exclusive rights to all the intellectual property associated with your...unique...technology. Right now. To show you how serious I am I've had my secretary make out this check for you."
/e eyebrows shoot up
The number of zeros was staggering! But for his plan to work he had to get his weapons into as many hands as possible. BOTH sides of any fight needed to be using clean weapons.
"Im sorry, but im not prepared to give up proprietary ownership, and thats final."
"Mr. Fritz, what advantage is therein a weapon if your opponent has access to the same? Are you sure you wouldnt like to reconsider?"
He had already worked most of his life to create these weapons. He wasnt about to give them up now, and sacrifice his dream, for a few years of comfort at the end!
"Yes, quite sure. Im prepared to sell you units on an individual basis, or go into a limited partnership on a mass production venture, but exclusivity is a deal breaker."
"Very well then Mr. Fritz, I believe we are done here."
"Thank you for your time."

That night, up past midnight, Steward was pacing around his house trying to think of what his next step would be.
*creek*
His hallway always did that, and Steward liked knowing the various sounds around him.
*creek*
He was wearing his solar tech suit. He like to put it on. It helped him work out the kinks. Like the need for extra insulation around the wrists.
*creek*
But, the problem now wasnt with the suit. The suit worked great. It had passed all his tests. The problem was getting people to believe in it. People other than Crey of course.
*creek*
Everyone was just to skeptical. How could he make the armies of the world want something they didnt even think was possible? He needed to get the idea of solar powered weaponry out in the publics eye. To make it popular even!
*creek*
So...using weaponry out in the public view...doing good to make the public proud of its existence...creating demand for a product that so far only had one prototype...
*creek*
Maybe his trip to Crey wasnt a waste after all. He could take a lesson from them, after all their superhuman security force pretty much WAS their PR department. YES!! That was it! It would let him field test his weapons like never before, and would help generate positive publicity!
*creek**creek*
HE WOULD BE A SUPERHERO! Wait: creek, creek?? Steward spun on his heals and released enough pressurized gas to send the intruder flying down the hall. Then he threw one fire blast after another untill the criminal stopped trying to get up.
Not bad for his first human trial. A pretty good demonstration, to bad nobody was here to see it. As Steward aproached the villian...
*creek*
he desided his first superhero job would be finding out who had invaded his home. A job made much easier by the Blackberry in the mans jacket pocket. A quick google of the names and numbers in the memory revealed they were all Crey employees. And a glance at the dayplanner gave more incriminating evidence.
Tues, Aug 5th.
12:30am: "aquire" solar tech.
5:30pm: collect outbreak data.
6:30pm: make A-K transport via sewers
If this man was to collect the data this outbreak must not be far away. Another quick google revealed a recent and mysterious outbreak in Paragon city, near Atlas park. In fact, A-K might mean Atlas park to Kings row. He would check on that as well, but first things first. An outbreak was urgent, and his R.M.D.'s could be just the thing to help innocents and get solar tech in the papers!
