Well after a weeks worth of emailing back and forth with tech support and testing, I finally figured out what the problem was. It was my firewall on Vista! I haven't had a problem with COH in the year+ I've been playing, until last week. I did do a microsoft update before this so I guess it is something in the update. Tech had me turn my firewall completely off to see if that helped and YES it does. Apparently excluding the COH program from the firewall is not enough anymore.

Hope this helps others with the "lost connection to mapserver".

I get the "Lost connection to mapserver" on a couple of my characters, completely at random. Sometimes right when I log in sometimes after about 10 minutes. The other night I received this message 7 times in an hour period, finally I just gave up playing that character. This just started happening about a week ago. I've been playing this gave for over a year now and never had this problem. I updated my driver to the new NVIDIA 182.08 with no difference. This does not affect all my characters. The ones it does affect are unplayable.
