After over seven years (for me), our journey here in CoH is coming to a close. So many people disappeared right after the announcement that I have little hope of finding them elsewhere, so before it gets any later, there are some things I want to say.
This game, this community, this server...it's been my home. Most of you likely don't know me well. I tend to be guarded, speak less and lurk more, but I've been here. I was in shock at first after the announcement, but now, my heart is just broken. I intended to stay untiil they shut the doors, but of late, that's becoming more and more difficult. I'm not saying I'm done logging in or that I won't be there on Nov 30th (and I suggest a massive party on that day), but I am not going to be around much.
My global name is @Lela (for those of you who might know me), and I'd very much like to stay in touch or touch base in other games. For now, I'm moving on to SW:TOR, and later will be getting a TSW account.
I'll be leaving character names for those (and any other) games at http://lelacoxchar.blogspot.com/ and I'd love to hear from you if you venture into those games. Just let me know where you're from, and you're on my friends lists automatically.
After my first year in game, Virtue became my favorite place to be, and I will miss it more than words can say. Thank you all for being so accepting, so inviting, and so much fun to be around.

I would like to apologize to the masses who have either partaken in this revival effort or been let down by it.
The Virtue RP Revival plan was set into motion some many months ago now by a small group of 5 or 6 Virtue RPers with the desire to see the community getting out and doing more, interacting, seeing new alliances formed, new friends made. We started out with a hell of a bang, things swelled and all was well.
In the time since, of the 5 or 6 of us who started out on this road, I am the only one still around or attempting anything to keep it going. Whether others just up and left, or quit playing or simply stopped talking about it, it's been some while since I had much help on any of this, or any of it's branch concepts such as the Axiom Guard SG or the RP thread here on the forums.
With life giving me little in the way of respite what with work, a car breaking down, work, bills, car repairs and work, I've been doing what I can in order to see that this entire thing doesn't slowly fall to the way side and become another forgotten notion. I've been planning events by my lonesome, I've been trying to keep the SG running alone except for the aide of but a few members not involved in the preplanning of it who are nothing short of patriots for the idea we've started.
To some circles, this has all been the result of me being "arrogant". I assure you, this is not the case. Anyone who knows me beyond the computer screen knows I'm a very easygoing person with far too many issues to like himself that much. Is my character an *******? Sometimes, certainly. But that's a separate individual. This has less to do with arrogance or wishing to be in command of things, and more to do with stress, frustration and a weary mind. I was never supposed to be taking all of this upon myself, so it all ending up on my shoulders was not the fault of arrogance. My character only accepted the position as leader of the Axiom under the conditions that he was the only one currently able to lead, and that he would be replaced as soon as someone more fitting could take his position, hardly arrogant.
To those who know what I'm talking about, this is my defense for whatever actions I may have taken or anything I may have said that came off more stern than it was meant to. To those of you who are reading this and hearing it for the first time, it is an explanation as to why the channel and SG and other facets of the Revival haven't been as active as initially hoped.
To all of you, again, it is an apology from me to you. It all started out as an idea to help the community. It's turned into something seen as less than that, and I am sorry for it.
So until further notice, the channel, threads and SG are all staying open. But we do need help from you all. Members stepping up to take charge, anyone looking to pitch ideas or organize events, all of it.

This is all news to me, but I have to tell you that from what little I get to see, you're doing great just by doing all that you can. If I could step up to help, I would, but for me, RL is kicking my butt as usual, so I'm, as always, extremely unreliable. I hope someone else is able to step up and assist, and I will try to participate when I can.

I'll admit, that rant was building for a while. I realize channel mods can't be there 24/7. Heck, I'm a mod of the LFT channel, and I'm not around all that much even after a forced hiatus in spite of my addiction to the game.
So, to the mods that have spoken here, thank you. I really appreciate that you'd take the time to say what you've said. I really honestly want to be some small part of the RP community, which is probably why I beat my head against this wall every so often. And further, I actually realized after I wrote that post that I'd spent time earlier today on a TF with non-rp'ers who were knocking rp'ers a little bit.
Normally, my skin's thicker. I guess I was just frustrated with this, because I did try to voice my objection to what was said in the channel, and I felt drowned out and ignored.
I'll give ya another try, and next time, I'll send you a tell or an email. -

I'm probably going to offend some people here, but I'm offended, so...there it is.
I joined this channel about a month ago, give or take. I see no difference between this and any other channel with roleplayers in it. Granted, there are some SG ads, teaming attempts, etc, and those things are great.
However, I have a problem with some of the conversations. For years now, I've heard complaints about roleplayers not being inclusive to outsiders. I've said that's bull. I think I was wrong. For years now, I've heard about roleplayers being snobs and elitists. I've argued that the community is what we make of it, and that I will play with any rp'er out there, even if it's just a conversation or one mission.
So, please, ask yourself this question: Am I one of those people who've made fun of or villified someone because they're not in lock-step agreement with my vision of what a roleplayer should be?
Because, I guarantee you, you will not unify the Roleplaying community when people feel they're being judged, stereotyped, or ignored.
I'm not talking about the drama llamas here or the people who cause trouble. I AM, however, talking about the people who march to the beat of a different drummer, the people who value doing something different than the status quo, and the people who want to set their characters apart. I'm also talking about those supposedly horrible people who add an M or E to their RP, those who add to their characters a depth that involves a personal life.
And finally, I'm talking about people like me. I play to enjoy the game, and I roleplay to enjoy the character and/or the story I'm trying to tell. I shy away from the big groups, because I have my own issues irl that are none of your darn business. I have 3 little groups that mostly house alts and friends, because my ability to recruit is spotty at best, and that's fine by me really. I started a global channel just so roleplayers can go "Hey! I'm running a TF/SF/team, and I want other rp'ers to come so we can all be in character!" without committing to a specific group or coalition.
Because, honestly, when I speak up in channels like yours? If anyone's listening at all, I'm getting drowned out or declared stupid for my views.
I really am sorry if I've offended you. I want to be part of a bigger community, I do. But not just to be a number, so you can say you have "This many" people. I want to have a voice for at least my little corner of the game. -
