15 December 09. Winter's Jeer: Case of the Winter Lords.
Dear diary, I woke up this morning to a beautiful snowy day. As I looked outside my hotel window, I saw people on the streets being merry. Happy couples throwing snowflakes and snowballs, a father and his son building a snowman and children in the park making snow angels. Heroes in fuzzy earmuffs patrolled the skies, making snow trails high in the clouds. Such a perfect scene would normally have brought joy and serenity to my heart, but sadly, the holiday spirit was gone from me, my mind heavy with the thoughts of an impending darkness.
Last night I had a dream. The kind of dream that comes with that sickening feeling of foreboding and overwhelming trepidation. A nightmare that makes you cry out in agony but steals away your voice and leaves you unable to scream, unable to escape, unable to awaken. Today unlike yesterday, I am a seer, a precognitive psychic, and I have seen the mischievious scheming of the Gamester and his dangerous presents. I have seen the hungry plans of Snaptooth the baby stealing demon, but worst of all, I dreamt of the destructive rampage of an evil monster, Lord Winter.
Gamester the trickster has planted mischievous presents across Paragon City and the Rogue Isles which if opened, could spout out festive rewards but one must take caution, for that same brightly decorated present may summon an army of murderous snowbeasts upon the unsuspecting victim or even ensnare him and take him far across the unknown and out into Lord Winter's realm, forever lost and forsaken. Unless per chance, the timer of destiny brings you luck, then you might eventually wake up and find yourself back home.
Winter Lords who spawn from Lord Winter's realm will appear in the Bloody Bay, Siren’s Call and Warburg neighbourhoods, using a portal that can be tamed and utilized by all valiant heroes who wish to save our world from these monstrous villains. Snaptooth is another such villain, hidden away in the snowy mountains amidst the Shadow Shard dimension, near DJ Zero's Pocket D nightclub, the demon threatens to kill Father Time's child, baby New Year, in hope of bringing an end to the universe as we know it! Those who understand this predicament will stop their merry-making and their drinking and their dancing around the Winter Chalet to hunt down the Redcaps and Tuatha de Dannan, save the helpless baby and return with an abundance of candy canes and holiday cheer. I only hope there is enough time, I fear our chances won't be here forever. Damsel, 08:34 AM

Hmm, yes I agree. The Worn Cover bookstore sounds good. Hints that it's old, maybe magical, even haunted. o.O
We need a ghost-type hunter character now. Maybe the bookshop's lost soul eventually joins the team? -
"Good to see you in good health Mister Norman" said Rachel, moving forward into the moonlight, which shone off her long silvery-white hair. The rain still unable to wet her due to the Reverend's spell. "The name is Rachel Grey-Hunter but you can refer to me as the Damsel" she finished, before noticing the remaining few zombies slowly withering to dust, probably due to the defeat of Nightmare, who's body had also begun to corrode into charred bone. Rachel saw Ava the gunwoman eagerly eyeing up the severed giant-sized rotten skull.

What if we make this a weekly deal, do missions on Wednessdays and GM/TF's on Thursdays?
-
"You know, she may actually have a point there" said Rachel, realizing the simple brilliance of the Djinni-woman's idea. "It's a reanimated corpse, we've tried everything from melting him to cutting off his head, yet he still lives. It's starting to make more and more sense that piercing it's heart might actually return it to eternal rest, yeah?"
-
Hmm, okay lets talk strategy. Technically, we can't lack anything because according to game mechanics, and in-character wise, we have a power shifter and a power mimic. The shifter I speak of can actually morph out with rad powers, I've seen him do it. So how's this: he debuffs and the rest of us does the pounding, the burning, the cutting, healing etc until the GM gets dead. D'you get what I'm saying?
-
"I like the biker's idea" said Rachel, holding back on her telekinetic assault for a minute, though, like the other lady's fire attacks, she wasn't doing much damage anyway. "Dragging this beast by it's feet should bring him back down to our level, you know? Then maybe we should focus on burning him altogether? You know, heat him down to ashes. D'you get what I'm saying?"
-
Concentrating on recalling her telekinesis skill to memory, Damsel closed her eyes and placed her fingers to her temple. With little effort, she used her mind to cut the monster's flesh. With greater effort, she sliced it again, and again, hacking away at the same point with the hope of crippling the monster's support before he can climb out.

So I guess we are "ghosting" this mission? What exactly is in the last room?
-
A gust of wind blew past the legion of unseelie as the now invisible Damsel flew straight through them, not stopping until she had trailed the scattered mob all the way into the deep of the woods. There she saw something no man or woman alive should ever have to endure. "Guys, if you can hear me, come this way" thought Rachel, flushing her thoughts through the woods telepathically, hoping the others would hear it as the sound of her voice, coming from deep within the woods. "You might want to see this."
-
Rachel looked beaten, "Damn it, she's right. Well then what now? Any other ideas?" she asked, looking expectantly at her husband.
-
"Or do you have anything with his scent on it, that we could trace him by?" asked Rachel, looking away from the comedic newcomer. "Any one of you guys got a strong nose?" she asked the group. "I think the quickest way to find this man would be to smell him out, right?"
-
I think we would stand out well in black trenchcoats and cloaks with maybe a touch of red. Should we use the crescent moon SG symbol?
-
Rachel noticed the old lady next to the Mayor had been crying. "I'm so sorry sweetie" she apologized, gently radiating a healing aura to lift the woman's emotions. "We will find your husband, rest assured. Can you tell us where you last him and which way he was headed?"
-
Quote:Yeah, I remember watching. I'll be there again this year! I might actually get off the sidelines and fight this time.We did it two years ago and it was a really good event.
-
Quote:"Wait, you're not making any sense" said Rachel, replaying the troll's ramblings in her mind. "Circle of Thorns are helping you Trolls across the Rogue Isles to kill all heroes and form a new world, by attacking Paragon City? Sounds like a pretty tall order. When is this attack?"
"Atta say troll change world. Rogue Isles troll attack Paragon City soon! Troll work with Thorns and Troll kill all hero. Hero biggest bully. Troll kill all hero. Is all I know, please. Is all I know. Troll bring New World, no more hero. You go now, please. You go now!" -
Quote:Rachel was loosing her patience. Without warning, she sent a blow down into the troll's gut, knocking him far across the gulch. With a psychic gust, she launched herself after him, delivering a haymaker that sent the troll falling vertically. Rachel flew downwards to intercept him and landed a third blow that knocked him skywards. "We can do this all day long jutal, always wanted to play Quidditch!" she screamed upwards, watching the troll flailing back to Earth.
"You trolls are brainless drug pushers, what are you doing mingling with terrorists? Answer me now or God be my witness, I'll push against your mind so hard you'll beg for death!" -
Seems you got a few of the villain characters mixed up there Pious. Good installment though, they just keep getting better.
-
"You worthless junkie, start talking!" Rachel screamed, shaking a bloodied troll jutal by his jacket. Her red leather coat hide the blood stains well, but her long silver hair made her stand out from the unearthed hollows of Eastgate. "You trolls are brainless drug pushers, what are you doing mingling with terrorists? Answer me now or God be my witness, I'll push against your mind so hard you'll beg for death!"

The Longbow helicopters whizzed through the damp grey clouds of Nerva Archipelago, the tight ropes shot down and the commander gave the order. I had volunteered for the assault team, stealth wasn't in the blood. Without hesitation, I leapt from the platform and descended into the mansion grounds. I heard and felt the dirt beneath my feet as I landed gracefully. I held out my arms and focused on my body heat. With a little help, I would burn this place to the ground.
-
Rachel looks around and noticed they were now in Independence Port. "I was kinda hoping to stop for a sandwich but this is cool. Reckon they got Starbucks on the ferry?" she joked, making her way to the boats.
