I don't come here to boast, or joust, or disrespect. You won't find much of me doing any here or in game or in life really. I'm not new to the game... I'm not new to PvP in the game. I believe that's pretty much all that is required for you and me to be cool BB. I don't play against the toon. I play against the player.
A very very short glance at my posts in this thread point to the reason that will most likely draw my attention and desire to post. If the envirioment here were a bit better here in this part of the forums, I'd visit more often. I'm sure many others would as well. I haven't got the timing right yet though personally. Cause when I briefly spoke of CC having a new form via disruption long long ago but ... it ended with the same bs I'm dealing with now even though I haven't trashed anyone.... until Sililt(sp?) stated it 2 weeks ago you say? New Ideas that do not depend on what the Game and it's devs do are unwelcome it seems... I'm just bein as honest and as real as I can be.
Someone said PvP is a Min/Max'ers dream and I'm not sayin it isn't. I just don't see a reason to stop There. Optimize for PvP. If/when done Min/Max'ing your own toons through number cruching build planing and/or PL'ing though, (exceptions, generalities, you know wth I mean jeez - pre edit) Dive into set/set//set/set team combinations *per attack that at least meet or surpass what multiples of the same is likely to have. They are out there. Can anyone break it down? I don't want to become a numbers guy. If/when possible can anyone please post an answer without asking a question, or without the hostility and sarcasm. Yes, I use both to make it fun. Some use both to make fun of. I come in peace. -
Quote:Um defensive powers are often used to increase the performance of one's offense no? you know like... like having defense for example. Using TP offensively (which is what I was listeing examples of) can incorporate the same. if you don't understand or can't admit the advantage one has offensively by clearing the rectile around themselves from their opponents window, sorry.Guess what mr mold breaker, placate is a defensive power. Nice strong logic there. Seems I was right.
It appears you are rejecting new ideas for the sake of your ego. Understandable... but quite unproductive if you ask me. I won't break down the rest although I could. I don't come here to make enemies. I come here to share ideas usually end up defending the positions which I've tested and succeeded with. You answered each one of my questions with a question btw. Nice try. being the "know -it-all" is easy Con when everyone already believes you... you don't have to try and convince me that's you're good. I already know it. As a matter of fact you have never ever ever... heard me say anything other than the the sort. I consider it a waste of brain to think in terms of better/best/I think you're getting your feathers ruffled simply because you don't want to admit there are elements to PvP that you aren't familar with. Again understandable, but unproductive... and at this point in the convo I think it's starting to show.
Just so ya know, I'm a A.America man living in the hood down south in Louisiana. My name's Anthony. If by turning Dahjee into Rahji you're trying to get to some deep ethnic sensitivities and make me react to them... try harder. I gave you the correct info.
Quote:Tell me what you know about me from my post if you want to play this game. That I only run spike teams with my psi em cold two buffers and all of us vent? Maybe you aren't as smart and clever as you think. I have posted several unconventional builds I play. I play taunt bot and disruption quite often as well. I do however know that fact that fly sucks in pvp and tp is a defensive travel power. You can try to twist your logic around it but trust me, those are facts.
Quote:I am going to guess seing you came in throwing the hate in what started as a good natured fun thread that it was probably your e peen that shrank.
If I had a dime for every time I came here and got offended... I'd have 3 pennies btw. *On Topic Mod 8!*
Quote:Here is why you aren't special. You aren't thinking outside the box. You are wanting people to look in your box and go 'OH WOW THIS GUY HAS REINVENTED TEH PVP'. Truth be told though, flying blasters are bad though. Sure you get kills. Sure you are moderately survivable. Yes the more standard build wil die more often. The bottom line though your K : D ratio is not in the same stratosphere as a well played competent blaster.
K : D ratios ONLY matter in arena where you can win the match or lose it. Stop dripping your arena mentality into Zone PvP. Or perhaps learn to disinguish between the two before venting your frustrations about my style and swag.
Its cool you found something you like. I do respect it. This game is very niched based and you found yours.
Quote:Here is where I have the problem though. You preach it out like we have it all wrong and need to learn how to do things different.
Thats the role YOU play... and as absurd as it may seem to me I respect it, simply cause I could never have the time or patienece to advise newbs and noobs here on the boards. I answer qestions I know about from personal experience. I could make edcucated guesses based on Mids... or PL"ed toons that I've spent all of about 8 days playing with... and I'd probably end up with the same advice to give as you might. I personally could not be proud of such info though. Perhaps I'm too humble... but I see nothing wrong with admitting when I don't know something or simply not poeting because I can't really say for sure aka actual expereince.
I do not and have not ever suggested that you or anyone STOP doing what they like when it comes to PVP. I preach ways of making what you want to happen HAPPEN. Read the sig. it hasn't changes in years.
If I'm preaching. it is to reach a common ground. Like the one needed between PvE'ers, PvP'ers, and the Devs atm in regards to te future of PvP in a game that I have come to love.
Quote:Go through and read your post in this thread and see what a massive pile of fail you are. Well played good sir, well played indeed.
best forum xp ever. -
Quote:lol YOU can't Max. Attack suppression differs, and knowing what you've been hit by goes a long way in knowing how to make it work. You, like many are specculating again on what you think you know before you've taken the time to see if you can do it.Yeah, except the whole part where you can't TP while you're being attacked. But yeah, you can probably avoid that by asking your opponents to stop attacking you and ruining your RP.
BTW why do people think I RP? I don't
Quote:But I can say with 100% certainty that there's no way in hell that it can do well in a serious arena match. It's way too slow to keep up with SS+SJ teammates, meaning that you'll essentially be soloing in the match, just like you basically do in the zones.
Maybe you could avoid dying in a big map like perez by simply avoiding the actual PvP and flying at the top of the map, occasionally sniping someone for 100 damage (and adding nothing to the team). But get a small map like the lab, and you'll be doing nothing but getting farmed. Don't believe me? Try it.
1 TP'er in an arena match with the rest including teammates having ss/sj is quite silly. I wish you'd think bigger than that. 8 TP/flyers vs 8 SS/SJ'ers... given even skill SS/SJ would get out manuvered all day long. Since most won't be able to even wrap their heads around the concept... keep in mind that the TP pool offers ways to bring your friends and enemies to you. Be creative with your thinking. Also TP > webnade... just so ya know.
Lastly. I don't arena much so it's almost pointless to make references to what I say and how it applies itself in the little controlled box you call PvP. -
Quote:My guess is that in a perfect world, one would like to choose a PvP set combo for the same reason they choose a PvE one. Another reason I guess that being good on a non-FoTM toon usually a sign of a good Player behind the toon. Some bad players *need* to roll an easy button FoTM often, while good players often choose them because they offer the path of least resistance therefore making them the most efficient choice.I'm always puzzled why people need to bring up non-Fotm builds and how skillfully they are played.
Quote:You either like playing a certain AT or you don't. Personally, I usually find that people bring up their Fotm kill streaks on non-fotm builds is because they usually Excuse their losses just because of their chosen AT to play. The characters I am currently playing are defenders - which are at the bottom of the barrel worthless compared to their controller/ruptor counterparts. Just because I kill a stalker or a corrupter does not mean I am more skilled than they are.
Quote:And I would actually like to see someone cite examples as to why zone PvP seems more skillful than arena (commenting on some previous statements in this thread).
dunno. There is skill in pulling players like players pull NPCs though. Some have it... others get upset because they don't and stick to arena I guess. -
Quote:Did you really just say TP is just a defensive power? Con you gotta break away from the mold guy. lol really, that's not an insult...Here's the thing Rahji, they do know what to do with it. You watch it get webnaded, then ased, then watch it respawn and happen again. Those teams do however know how to utilize different sets and strategies. Its really not the players fault that fly is so easliy a countered travel. And while tp has some perks it mainly a defensive power.
When you can TP 600 ft away and back in less than 3 seconds... TP is a ghetto placate.
Did you know that even now.... With easy slotting you can time a snipe to fire before it's interrupted by the fall... and tp again before you hit the ground, with snipe ready to fire again?
Con... do you know how to teleport ahead by only 50yrds... what about 100yrds?
Honestly... is there a travel power more prercise than the one that gives a targetting recticle?
Let me stop there. I've been sucessful using TP/hover/fly builds since PvP launched. If you have questions about how to make it work. Ask! Stop trying to ******* convince me I haven't been doing this crap for years. I did KBs before CoV launched... and after. Before many of these fools chiming in even started PvPing in this game. You know much guy, but you don't know everything. You know me form the boards... so I challege you to look at my posts and try to find one I'm in that isn't in some form trying to introduce something new *based on what I have personlly experienced and succeeded with* Each time however, I'm met with a barrage of folks ready to tell me I'm wrong without asking a single ******* question. I'm more convinced now than ever that you have indeed stopped learning. copy/paste more. I give respect. I get none basically... cool with me, my smile doesn't require it.
Quote:Then go away. If you don't really take part, and you aren't really interested why interject your bull into it all?
Quote:You mean funner in the sense that you can hover snipe noubs who don't know how to look up so you can feel like you still are relevant in the pvp scene. Good for you, but a little sad news for you as well. You are not a special and unique snowflake. You aren't going to reinvent the wheel. Its not the rest of the world who has it all wrong and you are fighting for some righteous cause. You are just an old rper who like to shoot stuff with his toy gun. I can respect that, but please stop thinking you or your opinion matters.
/em shakes hater off left shoulder
Ask me why.
or Tell me why not.
Stop acting so rude when someone disagrees with you. -
Quote:meh KB. Each one feels the same, looks the same. Nothing new there atm. Call me when you do have more flying/teleporting* AR/Dev Blasters... or perhaps teams that would know wtf to do with a good one on their team. That kinda stuff might actually interest me.Dahjee I have no clue who you are but if you don't already pvp on Freedom I would like to personally invite you to nightly kickballs. I personally think we need more flying AR/devices blasters in kickball.
I don't PvP on the clock much these days. It stopped being fun for me long before the I13 drama. I don't argue with the fact that arena is where highly competitive PvPers go to get bragging rights and I do accept invites when invited sometimes. Zone PvP is just funner for me... I'm still quite competitive... but fun means more to me... just like winning means more to others. -
Quote:Um X, words can have more than one meaning. "Good" and "Successful" in PvP can mean more than just ONE thing... I also know that being informed is not the same as being correct. If your point is to say that everyone but me is correct about their opinion well then ok. You have a right to believe such and I won't try to stop you.Yes it would. You're re-defining words with your own meanings. That is ridiculous.
And being informed is not the same as being correct. If anything, saying what you are saying while being informed, is even more embarrassing.
There's a lack of trust in those builds because, with I13, those builds have a lack of ability. It's only natural to have a lack of trust in something if it doesn't perform well.
The sheer amount of inconsistency & contradiction in your posts suggests to me you're a bit out of your depth here.
I apologize for what you felt were inconsistencies and contradictions in my posts... I can't recall any but I've posted quite a bit so perhaps... I'm happy to clear up anything you may have misunderstood. Which it seems, you obviously have. -
Dude... that's slick right dere.
I'm gonna try to see if I can come up with a cool insult like pinata or downie or something.... and hope it catches on with 3 - 4 other people too. ;{)
/em hope
Saying something seriously... is not the same as taking something seriously X. Please stop quoting me... or at least stop trying to make it seem as though theres something wrong with my mind. There is not, I assure you. -

Quote:Judging from the attitude and replies... I think It'd be better if folks here try and remember that its just a game. This is just a forum, and it's not that serious. I come from a place that seeks to enjoy my play time... not take is so damn serious.Wrote three really mean replies to dahjee, decided against all of them. Man you really need to figure out there are no real a's for efforts or gold stars for everyone. There isn't a giant pizza party even when you lose. There is winning and losing, and trying to color it up to make yourself or anyone else feel better is a poor idea.
I have often said and will say it always, if you need to be coddled in pvp then it is not the area of this or any game for you.
If i had a dime for every idealist who tried to make the world a better place.....
Everyone who wants to PvP will die at some point. Everyone. Zone PvP is not arena... theres no timer, no kill count, and ya know what... theres no winners and losers! Just a bunch of toons hopping around hoping to kill more than they die. the end.
If people Rage ever time they die in PvP... then I can understand the desire to Only roll toons that have been cookie cut due to their top notch status. It's not that serious to me. Don't make PvP into something it is not... which is that damn serious. -
Quote:I don't play against sets and toons... I play against the people behind them.you lost all credibility when you started implying your rad/traps corrupter is good in the current system. /Traps was bad before i13.....it's horrible now.
If I had a dime for every sucker I've outsmarted with my loltraps corr, I'd be a rich man.
Don't let the smoove taste fool ya Divine. If you can't make one work... that doesn't mean I can't.
P.S. What I was implying was that /Traps works well when teamed with a competent dev/ blaster... esp if both took fly... this isn't a Mid's guess or hearsay. It's from expereince. -
Quote:I don't disagree Mac. I think the return you suggest is based on an indiviual return though. If I'm building a solo toon to fend for himself, (likey Redside) I pretty much keep all the things you suggested in mind when creating a build. I PvP Spec the toons I've PvE'd with for years the same way however, regardless of whether or not the common trend suggests it to be a good or bad idea. Very much like you I imagine.Basically what I'm saying is, if you want to spend a lot of inf and time on a sub-standard build, I won't stop you. I've tossed around builds for oddball set combinations, and it's made me do a lot of number-crunching to see what works best for those particular builds. However, you'd be foolish to suggest that you would not get a far better return on your investment by working on a build that is more suited to the task at hand (sure a Rad/Elec Defender can farm, but why do that when you can use a Fire/Kin, which would be cheaper and much more efficient?).
I don't PL though... Just unlucky or what ever I suppose. (Actually laughed at for trying to level certain builds that stand solid to this day) So most of my toons have endured weeks, months, or years of PvE'ing before IO'ing and readying them for PvP. Because of this I sometimes forget I'm a PvP vet, and I seek to acheive the same role in PvP as I do in PvE. This leads me to assume that perhaps to recruit and interest more PvPers... we must find way to allow them to fufill their designed PvE purpose. I think we can agree that the roles needed for PvE success are also useful in PvP. Perhaps coach Zone as an intro to PvP allowing one to make the most out of a build they may have come to love... then let them know what they'll need to reroll in order to compete in arena.
Quote:AR has three single-target attacks. The AoEs are largely worthless because they have hella long animation times and AoEs in general are bad in PvP these days.
If I coulld humbly ask for one favor Mac. Please revisit the possible effects of AoEs when the number of PvPers is actually at or near the cap aka current Freedom. Teamwise when paired with good CC and/or debuffers, I've witnessed several lol moments in zone when AoEs are coordinated. As you may or may not know... I zone mostly these days, so that is specifically what Im referring to.
Quote:That's a tremendous oversimplification of the current state of PvP.
Quote:That view differs greatly from much of the advice given here. One would believe that all PvP toons are Spike toons, which turns into everyone wanting to know if their non-spike toon can be made into a spike toon... and we know what they're told.
Quote:Yes, I PvPd a bit on a flying AR/Dev before I13. No, I wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole in this current version of PvP.
Quote:The problem with attempting to make everything exactly the same is that the small differences stand out even more than before, so there's less stuff that works well. Prior to I13, a smart player could make a PvE build work in many situations, but that's unfortunately not the case anymore. -
Quote:If I may start with the bold.way off.
silit said it a few weeks back: disruption still works. i've posted builds for thermal masterminds, disruption spec'd fire/cold corrs, ss/fire tauntbots among a great deal many others.
a year and a half ago, you would have to pay me to post any of those builds here. ujl fort builds were sacred, and i deleted my builds from our vg forums after a few days of commentary. **** was that serious.
the fact that people like me, con, mac, silit, -divine, mage, etc etc actually post stuff here should be something you're grateful for. even if it comes down to me making fun of divine's archery ideas, con psypunk'ing you, or silit making fun of tall tanks.
I've PvP'ed with just about all of you. I've checked the forums before logging in for just about as long as I've been registered. I can learn from and respect anyone here, and I have been doing so for some time. That's just me. I've learned from much of what I read here, and I can in fact appreciate the work of those you mention (including yourself) have put into reaching out and posting to those wanting to improve their skills in PvP. Please don't get that twisted.
I missed that thread but I'm aware that a solid recognition of CC/Disruption toons' effectiveness on teams exists, and I'll be here to defend anyone who says otherwise as you would. -
Quote:Having different definitions for "success" and "good" does not mean the same thing as "using different word definitions than most". I would simply consider myself another guy with an informed opinion. What threads are you reading Dahjee? I can't find any threads where everyone's #1 focus is spike damage on EVERY CHARACTER. All I see are people with informed opinions on how to optomize each archetype in a different manner.
You are living in a pretend world. You even admit that you "use word definitions differently than most". Congratulations, you fail at communication.
I'm just being real. The Spike damage reference was a response, it's not the point I'm after atm. It stems from what I beleive to be a general lack of trust in what many set/set combos can offer to a team even if their designed purpose (Archetype) is substandard to other set/set combos when it comes to sealing the deal aka dps and/or Team = Spike. -
Quote:Again with all due respect, if someone asks a question that you can't answer... just say you don't know. "ya know... I just don't know how to make AR/Dev into a killing machine". "I don't know what travel powers pool powers an AR/Dev should take or what strategeis they should implore to be a killing machine in PvP... It may or may not be possible... I just don't know"You know me and barrier are two the people who used to post help back in the old pvp forums. And if you have been around long at all you would know the pvp forums used to never have anything about pvp in them.
Again with the fotm point. Look I know it was hard to read before but I will try again. My signature toon is grav elec. I pvp on an ice dev blaster. Barrier pvps on several sub standard/non fotm builds. Mac makes everything look like it could never be a fotm. So yeah whatever on that point.
As far as pling is ripe for the testing I think you missed some patch notes. We had our free 50s and yes you can still pl, but it lost alot of its luster with the ae 'refinements'. Testing stuff out is not near as easy as it used to be. Then throw in the cost and time to io something and the investment becomes substantial.
I have been pvping for quite some time, and shocking mostly on 'gimp' toons. My first and main blast on Justice was ice/fire. My second pvp toon was a mind ff. I know how to make things work. but in all honest if someone comes along looking for advice along the lines of 'how do i make my ar/dev a killing machine' the real answer is reroll as psi or fire/em. The difference in what the builds can achieve can not be circumvented by any outside the box thinking. No amount of ios or build tweaks can close the gap. Now if they come back and say something like well how can I make it the best it can be I can assure that more than likely me, mac or barrier will probably post a build and/or advice for them. Where do I ever see you with any helpful insight? If you aren't part of the solution they say, you are part of the problem. Well my good sir you seem to have well established now that you are indeed part of the problem.
It's that easy. "Reroll as a X" is what you reply to the question "What should reroll my X as"?
You can even tell how your Psy/Em gets 200 more kills a day more than your AR/Dev does based on the way you play it, and that your AR/Dev wouldn't survive if you played it the same way... but don't assume to know what's possible for all... I'm pretty sure that's when learning stops, and you don't wanna stop learning if your supposed to know it all ya know.
I imagine if that was easy though your post count might be as low as mine.
I don't frequent the boards cause it's funner to play the game itself... I help there more often than here. Here I chime in when I know from experience. I answer questions and most often only stay long enough to deliever whatever helpful advice I can to the OP.
By doing so however... I'm usually prompted to stay longer because for some reason my opinons are always so off the wall and far from what you guys approve of. It doesn't make me wrong though... just part of the outside crowd I guess. Go figure. If I only had a dime for every time.... -

Quote:Srs RL story here
I work in a an environment where my manager is 10 hours away and no one in my building has any clue what I do. I get a lot of suggestions from other co-workers asking why we don't do things a certain way or "I saw this on TV and I want to do this here too" and they kinda get upset when I tell them that it can't be done.
If you do something regularly and you think about strategies regularly, you will find that you have a greater understanding of certain areas. You will also find it mildly insulting when someone says your advice/suggestions are wrong when you have tested them before or have insight into how they work together.
In the end, if your expectations or definitions of success and successful are different than mine, then we might disagree on certain areas of PvP in this game. The suggestions I see Mac and others give to people are based on the assumption that said player is playing to win and wants to be successful. If that said person is looking for an 'ataboy' by playing substandard or different, then I can see where we might come off as rude and closed minded.
Good story. Good Point.
Considering my original post ended with me saying that my defintions are differnent than most so debates are pointless here I can only guess that you feel the need to say your definitions are more correct or something... dunno. We all play to win I suppose. For me however winning differs greatly from toon to toon.
My trollers don't have to get kills to win... they have to stop opponents from getting kills and preventing spikes by any means neccesary. They have to cause as much hell as possible when opposing teams decide to turtle up. If someone says I suck cause I didn't or couldn't kill them, I lol as they repatedly get stomped by my teammates... My defenders are all about support. My bubbler is actully specc'ed to BE the spike target... So long as my teammates aren't getting end drained and are bubb'ed and invis'ed by the time I get back I'm cool. It works for me. They live and I defend their lives so they can do thier jobs when on my defeder. My Tanker, Corr, Brute and Doms all have different roles to fill and therefore different standards to which "good" and successful" are met.
That view differs greatly from much of the advice given here. One would believe that all PvP toons are Spike toons, which turns into everyone wanting to know if their non-spike toon can be made into a spike toon... and we know what they're told. -
Quote:Mac you're 5 star in my book. Made a note months ago when on Freedom, so no you weren't hidden from me. I've never dissed your PvP skills. Also I'd never ever treat a player differently In-Game because of differences of opinons here. In-Game is a different slate... and againI have no problem with how and what you play. We just disagree a lot here. Perhaps I expect too much from the people that seem to know and frequent the PvP forums the most.Remember, this is the person who told me they would never team in PvP with someone like me, yet they've teamed with me for the better part of an afternoon several times since coming over to Freedom and never knew it.
Seriously, let us know when you find good team and solo PvP strategies comparable to the ones we've established and have been using, and maybe we'll actually take your opinion into account.
If you are however open to suggestions... I'd offer to maybe get the word out to zone teams to start making binds that say... "Our Teammate is being spiked by $Target! let's use our damage specc'ed support and control builds to actullay stop our teammates from getting ganked over and over instead of running off to spike the helpless /emp for the 7th time" or something like that. Find a good "Anti-Spike" bind that actully makes the King of Spike builds useful to and for builds that arent for spiking. -
Quote:My Geo is IO'ed and purpled out... with Ferrari-seeking missles attached to it's top. Ready! Imagination works! Sometimes people believe something makes no sense before they've stopped to ask whether they understood in the first place. You don't make any sense. Those 10 people know more about PvP than the rest of CoH's community combined. If the info is "stale", blame the game. They tell it like it is.
If someone wants advice on making his AR/ice blaster good in PvP, he'll be told to reroll. Because no matter what he does, that toon will suck at PvP. That's not mis-education. That's telling the truth. If he doesn't like it, that's just too bad.
If a professional F1 driver tells me that a Ferrari will beat my Geo Metro in a race, I'm not going to criticize him for being "close minded" or unwilling to accept that maybe I'm just a really amazing Geo Metro driver. Because I know he's right. No matter what I do to the car, it will never be a Ferrari. But with your logic, I supposed you'd argue with him, saying his info is "stale" and he's just saying the same stuff that others have said. Great...go ahead and keep believing that your Geo Metro is the best car in the world.
If someone wants advice on his/her AR/Ice blaster... they should be told and/or coached on the sets greatest streghths and weaknesses IMO. That's probably what they want. For example... the fact that AR/ is the only set that leaves no trails so it it makes for a terrific Range boosted snipe/scourge spike/kite/stealth teams... with teleport/hover (/shock) But cooridinated teleport/spiking in PvP is unheard of you say? Ya, I know. Useless Primaries and secondaries and the synergies they producd should of died long ago simply for the fact that even a less used power can always be a mule that offers prefered bonuses via IOs. No one speaks of such advantages much when "telling the truth" about a set's viability. Some people believe it or not spend months on toons and just want to make them work in PvP... Rerollling at 50 is absurd to some. Advice on how to do so should be found here... but it is often not unless the set meets the requirements of PvP as stated by who exactly? A group of 10?! Respect to all but if that's the case I shoudn't be the only one callin for a wiser bunch. Cookie cutting gets old and stale.
As of lately because of such a poor example being set (moreso by the followers and not specifically Mac, Con, Super, etc...) the phrase "It Sucks... Reroll" has become another way of saying "I don't really know... haven't really tried... don't see many and no one's beat me with one so... My opinion is that it won't work if trying to play it the way I would"... or what's even worse imo... "someone told me it sucks so I'll tell you the same thing!" -
Quote:Don't take it personal Con.
Which would be 100% more useful than anything you have posted so gfg.
I offer you much respect... as I do anyone else here.
I don't read all threads you're right... but I read enough for you to understand and see that what I said is far from crazy talk. This was a joke thread so had no intentions of offering useful info to anyone here. I simply wanted to vent I suppose because what once was a forum that I could goto and offer insightful, creatve, and alternative ways of doing things in PvP has turned into a forum that has vets, newbs, and nO0bs alike rejecting anything other than FoTM W/O testing or trying (perhaps not by you Con but dont pretend A. PL'd toons are ripe for testing and B. everyone is able)) -
Quote:If I had a dime for every time a forum go'er asks about a possible PvP toon only to be told the toon will suck.... so reroll it....I think pretty much 100% of the time, if someone has a serious question, it gets answered.
Or for every time someone is told that X doesn't work anymore because of I13.
Or perhaps a nickel for every time some one snarks in disbelief at someone for doing something with a build that they wern't able to do.
I could go on... but I'm not that invested in this thread. I guess my point is that the PvP coummunity as far as I and many who visit the forums can tell is kinda well... close minded and rude. I gather this from noticing that no one ever seems to be without a jerk remark, and the fact that nothing new is ever introduced here on the PvP forums...just the same ol' same ol' that comes from what I can only guess as years of doin the same thing over and over... no matter what set/set combo. copy paste rinse repeat... call yourself a winner!
Yeah questions do get answered. With the same stale info that circulates among all of about 10 people. There is a mis-education in progress here.
Bitter justifications for the staleness that is forum PvP to follow I'm sure. Blame it on the numbers? -

If only I had a dime for every time the same 6 people show up in Every Single PvP thread.... now there's some lots of moneys there.
Seriously though.... There's like 5-6 pvp vets that appear to be in every thread ready to copy/paste the same material. FoTM is de Only wayz to win... Defense is useless cause I cants dooit... Ur bad cause I beeets you in deh arena with teh TS off and HD on what!? I only know spiking cause um that all I knowz... and so on, and so on.
With the "forum pvp cool kids" club here so small... is there really room to try and convince everyone they are bad because they have different ideas?
Dont get me wrong... perhaps 25% of the time one can get some useful info. Most often though it's quite sad to see the same ol shat coming outta different toliets.
I don't mean to offend, and I'm not saying I'm better best good bad etc... I just have different defintions so debates are usually pointless here. -
Perhaps it's best to PvE some before PvPing....
