Unfortunately, that's the case many of times. As opposed to bookmarking/favoring a thread that could possibly be useful/linked to in the future, I tend to remember the sub-forum it was listed in and go from there. In the case of other sections of the forums (Comic Culture, PvP boards, etc) it really isn't a problem. At least, not as much as it has been within the Virtue sub-section.
I had two different story threads here that I tried to update regularly. Unfortunately, there isn't much to say short of "bump" posts (which are against the rules to my knowledge, thus I try to avoid them) so they would sink over a period of time. As much as I'd like to keep a thread fresh daily, it wouldn't really be possible to do so. If I didn't have a link to it handily available, I'd have to dig through a number of pages to find it. Same for a number of other threads that I'd read and then try to revisit later.
If as Mod8 said, we have more threads per day, you would still have to go digging for it.
The fact is that people are not posting as often or as much right now so you see the last x days rook threads sitting there. Of course I can scroll down and see Tuesday's thread, but it hasn't had a response in a couple of days so it is way down.
This has all happened before, and it will again. -

You want to find something there is a search feature up top. It does seem to work.
You want to close it down to one thread, that is your choice, and on the old boards I would agree.
Then again this from the guy who earlier broke the forum rules by complaining about the way the forums are being modded. Isn't that a no-no also, and yet
you are still able to post. Guess it does work both ways.
Of course it is all immaterial because most people don't listen to what the other people who disagree with them say.
(And yes I said one thread on the old boards, course I didn't see this complaint come up on the old boards) -

Don't be silly Shecky. Those threads are all either community building & relevant to the members of the server, or are one-off threads that are not created on a daily basis.
The Rookey being a spamfest isn't a problem. The Rookery being a DAILY spamfest is a problem. All that the Virtue Liberation Front (
) is fighting for is to have it all consolidated in one thread.
Is there fluff in there, yep, but there is other relevant stuff in it also.
The fun thing is when I get home from work tonight I'll have to remember what page I'm on in the threads to skip over everything that I've read/posted during the day today. That is a bigger annoance than any fluff thread in my book.. -

Hello there I just join virture is not real constructive,
and mosto of the other "Contructive" topics that have gone to fluff because of thread derailing.
So, lets just keep the forum to talks about missions, SGs that are looking for members, TFs forming, and powers. Oh wait. Powers would be wrong cause there are specific forums for that. Sgs looking as a single thread...
Mission and TF talk is it.
I do remember the Community people and Devs saying that they let things slide in the server forums due to it being more of a community area. -

None of it is worth getting upset over anyway. Even without the Rookery I couldn't find what I was looking for cause of all the other fluff that wound up in posts, the constant derailing of threads, and the silliness that goes on in the forum overall.
None of it is worth getting your panties in a bunch over really. Life is too short as it is. -
As far as a Social group goes, I do believe it is one, but I know that I forget about them since there is no quick link to social groups and you have to remember to go into your user control panel, in which case the thread would wind up being started by someone not knowing/remembering.

Would the functionality of the Rookery be inhibited in any way if it was consolidated into one thread?
Now originally, I think the rookery tried to be one thread and got way too long so they decided to break it up to a daily thread. (I could be wrong on it though).
I understand what you are saying about it being all over the place now, but in the same sentence abot fluff and what do things have to do with CoH and Virtue, I find that a lot of the psots tend to not make much sense overall.
Also the lack of topics can also be traced to it being Summer (Vacation time) and possibly the new boards (I know I don't like them) besides a fluff post like the Rookery.
Lack of posters on the other hand can be traced back to a lot of people being treated poorly on the forums overall, or just ignored and so they decided to just lurk. -
I have that effect on people.
