I just got back to the game after a bit of time off and noticed this. IMO the sounds now are awful. My MM pets foots steps are so much louder than any other sound effect that if I turn the sound down to avoid the foot steps I can't hear anything. They're loud, out of sync and just plain annoying. I actually just logged out because I didn't want to listen to those damn footsteps anymore.
Turning off all of the sounds to avoid one annoying, but constant, sound seems kind of silly. I would love the option to turn these 'enhancements' off.
I, for one, had zero problems with the old sounds.
