Next Up Arc # 8928 (unless 45503 is back)
[/ QUOTE ]
45503 is back up, something in the patch made one of my bosses error out so i had to change his type and repub -

I think its mainly because they're AR. They seem to get stuck in rifle mode and don't go back to the Nade. Ideally I'd give them no secondary at all, because I wanted to make sure they were relatively harmless, but that's not an option.
[/ QUOTE ]
Primary and secondary powers can be set seperatly have you tried setting the secondary to AR Standard or even something weak like Willpower or regen standard? -

odd i ran it last night
if it helps look for my user name @CuppaLLX and the 5 mission version. (the 4 mission version is for people who dont want to endure the last mission)
[/ QUOTE ]
Not that odd, I am hearing alot of grumbling from farmers that this morning a bunch of 'farm' arcs were removed. I use the quotes because not all of the arcs removed were actual farms.
I had searched your name, the arc name, the number and any other variation I could think of including the foes groups you used. When you get a chance make sure its still around.
Currently running 55098 a second time review coming soon.
[/ QUOTE ]
Gah i hope not, i spent way to long just getting it to this stage of "work in progress" to start over. -

<QR> I may take up reviewing some arcs in this thread (as long as no one minds), but probably not this week, due to post Spring Break school workload.

My review of Arc #45503 Through the Looking Glass has been postponed.
The reason is it seems to be gone. I like to play an arc at least twice before reviewing it. Once on my Io'd out scrapper so that I can stop and read everything and once on another character either in the level range or a less sturdy character. This gives me a way to balance my opinions.
When the arc is back up let me know so that I can do my second run (also the second run is when I vote as I have the full picture)

The way i handle it in both Through the Looking Glass and my joke one Three Stars was to fill each mission with rescuable allies of boss or higher rank, but make them un mentioned and optional.
If your arc is so difficult that you feel you have to do this, you should really think about making it easier. Allies should only appear when the story demands them. If an arc is of nominal difficulty but turns out to be too much for a particular soloist that player already has a "get an ally" option -- he can recruit a team (even during an AE arc.)
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem is that the people i hang with have been with the game since beta or are all purpled out. So to be fair i add in some extra allies to find since m own slant on reality is biased.
Also i like Guild Wars
and in the case of both of my mentioned missions it was actually logical to add allies.
For TtLG your litterly taking back a world, the allies world, but rikti control. Would you sit back and watch if some alien from a parallel earth swooped in to clean up the Rikti War Zone without you?
And for '3 Stars' you have to fight 3 Imperious, 3 Tyrants, and 3 Statesman
I mean why WOULDN'T Lord Recluse, Requium and romulus get in on the action? -

I'll throw my hat into this ring if anyone wants feedback on their arcs. Fair warning: I nitpick.

Fair enough, that said i repost the details of mine since it might have been missed.

The Arc tells the story of a alternate world where the Rikti won the invasion of 2004, this world only has fraction of the heroes of Earth Prime and things are desperate. Right now I'm still balance testing the difficulty but i will be editing it to enhance the story as i tweak it to perfection.
Keep in mind while the story is not polished it is COMPLETE. so keep that in mind.
Also if you do a search for story by my user name you can try the 4 arc version (its the rough form but some people might find the last mission (5) to much and want a quick end) and a 1 mission joker that i made just for fun. I'll be polishing and perfecting TtLG 5-Part version and 3 Stars based on feed back but not TtLG 4 part version. -

What, complain about someone reviewing my arc? Of course not!Go ahead.

agreed i don't care who reviews mine, feedback is the key to inprovement! -

The next ingredient is hops...from Praetorian Earth. The nav bar says "Find the Alpha Wolf and assert your dominance"....um....riiiiiight.... Taking him out triggers the spawn of EB "Loup-Garou", a Super Strength/Regen. Thanks to the current AI silliness the first thing he did was pop Instant Healing, meaning the first 60 seconds or so of beating on him just didn't count. After a effort roughly akin to felling the mightiest tree in the forest with a herring, he bought it.
Next up was a trip to Eden for yeast. You are warned to bring END insps and to stay out of melee range...nice thing to say to a Scrapper. I also noticed going in that this mission is level-locked to 50, which actually EXed me to 49. The objective target is, I kid you not, a gorram Blue Mitochondria. I did try to fight it but, as a Scrapper, that was just not happening. At this point I bailed out of the arc and one-starred it. If zero was an actual option I'd have used it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure why you're complaining about things being too tough if you're playing on Challenge Level three or higher (which I assume is the case since you were exed to 49). I ran this mission solo at Heroic with an electrical blaster, as I recall, and while it was not trivial to best the Loup Garou and the Mito, it wasn't all that hard (i.e., no visits to the hospital).
Because custom characters are essentially player characters (admittedly, played by a bad player), we can't insist on running at the same level of difficulty that we've been running at all these years. PvE against custom characters is almost like old-style PvP.
That said, I agree that there is a tendency among many authors to make their missions really tricky and excessively hard. But I wouldn't put that all on the authors.
In some ways, it's hard to make to missions easy. For example, because the only choices you have are standard/hard/extreme for power sets...SNIP!

For example if ar 3 in TtLG is to hard you can find and recruit the Thugs/Energy Blast EB Thugz Killa
For the fourth mission Pink Defense and Officier Xanatos are waiting to be found...
and for the last one...i keep that my little secret -

There are 2 versions a 4 map one and 5 map one. That id is for the 5 map
I've only recently finished balance testing and the text isn't fully realized but the premise is your are trying to help a world where during the invasion of 04 most of the heroes we know never emerged and the Rikti won. Now it's a desperate attempt to take back the world starting with the defeat of a high power Rikti General...the Herald.... -

the 57 month badge makes as much sense as giving a glass of water to a fish.
By 57 months I know I did and would assume most others that 50% off talioring fees considering the different methods to obtain additional costume slots, free costume changes etc won't care about a tailor discount. In fact it's insulting to someone like myself who has played for so long to get such a lame "reward" for playing so long.
[/ QUOTE ]
its only good for new alts who only have 7 vet tokens for the tailor, noting of value to established toons -

ahwell gotta have a weakness :P and its a very broad weakness :P its not like yellow is uncommon like cryptonite.

yeah but yellow is less common then...Wood
Oh no a DOOR my powers are useless (that actually happened in the comic) -
[ QUOTE ]
accepted. so ill change it to hal jordan GLor maybe the wood one hmmmmm
edit: Done now says Green Lantern (Hal jordan)
[/ QUOTE ]
The ironic thing is Hal Jordon is the GL God, basicly, i mean EVERYONE says he has the greatest willpower EVER, and the ring is powered by Willpower. So its like "well yeah hes got the most power but this stuppid yellow weakness" -
[ QUOTE ]
yeah when i heard about the yellow thing he found hes way onto my personal list
[/ QUOTE ]
my main pooint was theirs about 3 variants of the GL -
oh it gets better, after Alan Scott we had Guy Gardner and Hal Jordon, THEY had the yellow weakness. So GL is kind of out there.
-
a couple of those i'd like to dispute. Aquaman is far from lame hes just limited. When in the water hes stronger, faster, and tougher then Superman.
Oh and the new gen GL Kyle Rayner has no yellow weakness. None at all.
However the ORIGIGAL GL Alan Scott has a weakness to...wood...
yes Wood. -

Honestly all the vet badges show to me is how old your computer is. If you are near 60 month then seriously find a new game.
There are far too many good games in this world to spend 5 years playing the same one. Especially one that hasn't aged that well.
I love this game don't get me wrong, but it's not good enough to be played (i.e. paid for) 5 years straight.

How would a vet badge in any way be relevant to the age of a computer?
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly this is my 3rd computer, and second laptop
i started coh on a 1.6 gz pentium 4
now im rocking a 2.1 ghz duel core laptop
I didn
t upgrade for COH but just cause you upgrade doesnt mean you give up whats fun.
Afterall people still play Diablo 1 and StarcrAFT 1, and well Warcraft 1 and 2
