Being you seem to get off on publicly challenging me here are your answers.
1. We volunteer to be PvPEC reps. There is no voting. There also is no long line of people waiting to volunteer.
2. Your applications were ignored by me. If I felt for one minute that either one of you were sincere in wanting to run events for the community and would follow the PvPEC rules which includes not causing drama, not trolling people, adhering to the EULA and respecting all other players including other PvPEC reps and including me you wouldn't have been ignored.
3. When both of your volunteered once, not several times as you claimed was the day after being banned by me from PvPEC events at all. As someone pointed out on that thread in question that sorta disqualifies you from participating in the PvPEC now doesn't it?
4. I let you back in to participating on your word that the drama was over and past history was squashed. However from day one your posts have been challenging me and at points totally disrespecting me to say the least. Your tells to me in game have been rude, demanding and simply being a ******** for no reason. Also do not think for one minute the other PvPEC reps that you have threatened, verbally assaulted and have treated badly has went unnoticed either.
5. If it wasn't for your team members who are just here to have fun I would probably put myself out of my own misery and just ban you again. I am trying to be the bigger person here though but to be blunt you are a dikk hairs length away from riding my very last nerve. I know you don't care so keep being passive aggressive and it will be what it is.
6. I decide who joins the PvPEC. I also decide how I am going to run the events that I volunteer my time to run. Don't like it then keep it moving to events that you do like how they are ran, or since you are so community oriented, run some yourself with your rules your way.
7. I don't plan on banning you simply because you are rude or nasty to me. However I will put you and your 234234 accounts on ignore and then when you need to ask me a question that are legitimate you will get no response. It will also mean you get no vote as a Captain on issues. So your choice how you handle this from now on big boy.

Quote:We all know that everyone has their own intentions for making proposed votes for rule changes. This case in particular, we can all agree that the point system was horrid starting out. We may not "all" agree with what has resulted because of the said system, which has since been addressed.
Regardless of which side you stand regarding adjusting points retroactively, one thing that can be measured is the alienation happening within the league. Im far more concerned about the bad taste that is developing due to all of these issues. As I said in an earlier post in this thread, NOTHING good can come from making changes after the fact. Once the door opens to opinions by teams on the validity of rules, I can guarantee you that the situation becomes a lobbyist issue of which rule fits each team best. Id rather fight this sh*t out and see who's left standing in the end.
On paper, there are 11 weeks left to play. That's 132 possible points out there to go and get. Im worried all of this drama is more harmful to the league than moving points for teams +/- 5 points either way (give or take).
As it sits right now, Champion is the only place for organized arena pvp anywhere in CoH right now. If people involved/participating in the league are assuming we are the only ones paying attention to the results, you are mistaken. As the only organized pvp at the moment, you can be assured there are eyes watching. I'd much rather see a successful season 1 with great momentum going into season 2. Will everyone be happy in the end? I'd hope so...but I know better.
But...
Is the goal to have everyone happy in the end? Or is the goal a stronger, better, more competitive atmosphere for pvp on CHAMPION server?
This.
And ty for being the voice of reason. Nice to see someone actually cares about the pvp community. -
There are dozens of questions and posts I should probably respond to but ya no what, I refuse. I refuse to continue to debate the same ole BS every day. I do not volunteer my time to deal with drama. I didn't create the league or any other pvp event to cater to people who's only reason for participating is to win, regardless of what you have to do or say to make it happen. Bad sportsmanship is a pet peeve of mine that I don't cater to, period.
If you are in 32423423 place and feel like you should be in 1st and you are not happy and enjoying yourself in participating GTFO. It really is that simple at this point.
Every single team that feels like they were jipped out of points has absolutely NO ONE to blame but themselves. Yes I will admit my initial point system was not the best it could be regardless of my good intentions of simply trying to solve the problem of tie playing teams. However that point system was in black and white and you agreed to it when you joined. Not only that but PerilX quoted the flawed point system out before one single match occurred right here in this thread and not one single Captain made a motion to change it. It wasn't important enough to warrant a change until it was your team that was affected by the ties.
Also to be quite blunt (and this doesn't apply to everyone that has ties now) but when you bring a "safe" lineup that includes 2-3 healers or tanks in a freaking THREE VS. THREE the last thing you should expect anyone to feel is sorrow for you for getting a tie. Perhaps you weren't trying to get a tie but you damn sure knew your lineup was increasing the chances of it happening and you chose to bring it anyways so deal with it.
Now on to the voting issue. First of all enough votes are in on the motion to take ties out of the game. The answer is no. With that being said below is a short list of topics that votes are not allowed on any more. I wanted to be reasonable and not come across as a tyrant and allow Captains some voice in the event but too many personal agenda's that are not for the better of the entire league and only about their own teams winning are shining through.
No more vote motions accepted on the following changes.
- CHANGING THE POINT SYSTEM
- LIMITING AT'S OR BUILD TYPES
- LIMITING MAPS
- TIES
- SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS TO RULES FOR INDIVIDUALS
- ANYTHING BEING RETROACTIVE. (UNLESS OF COURSE ITS IN REGARDS TO ALL OF YOU BEING MY PERSONAL CYBORZ SLAVES, THEN OF COURSE ITS RETROACTIVE.)
Now I am going to make one more rule. No more motions for votes on any topic unless you have a minimum of 2 other Captains in favor of supporting it. That means those 2 other Captains and you must send me a p.m. with the same motion proposal. Other wise don't waste my time or the other people in the leagues time who are just here to have fun with vote issues that have no support.
P.S. I really don't want to hear about "everyone" on vent agreed to this issue or that issue. People apparently feel making others think they agree with them is more important than keeping it real because every single vote that supposedly had certain people supporting it, didn't. Just because they are your friends on vent and nod their head when you are raging doesn't mean they ACTUALLY agree with you. Reality check. -
Yet another vote p.m.'d to captains.

Dear Mod8,
I have been demoted. Please remove me from our private forums. OZ is the new leader of teh PvPEC, so give him access and his personal dummy hat. Kkthxbye

Rather than go through a Captains vote I decided to go ahead and change a rule that several have asked about. The wording is very specific and not following the rules exactly as written can run you in to a risk of a forfeit. Normally a rule doesn't go in to effect until next fight week to keep it fair across the boards but I see no way this could hinder or penalize any team so it is in effect immediately.
Quote:Match Times
- Saturdays 7PM PST/10 PM EST First fight night will be 09/04/2010
- *Matches can be rescheduled if both teams find an agreed upon date/time otherwise matches must take place at the designated official time. If matches are scheduled for another time both Captains must p.m. Criticalkat on the blueboards letting me know the date and time you rescheduled it. If I do not receive a p.m. from both Captains in advance and a team doesn't show up for those rescheduled matches then the match time falls back to default match time. If I do receive the p.m. from both Captains in advance and a team doesn't show up then the team that doesn't show up will forfeit. If matches are rescheduled for after the official fight night time and one or both teams do not show up they will forfeit those matches if a p.m. was not received by me BEFORE the fight night for that week. If a p.m. was received by me and one team shows and the other doesn't then only the team that doesn't show will receive a forfeit.
- Matches must be completed no later than Monday night 11pm EST after each week's fight night. Example if fight night is on Saturday 09/18/10 at 10 pm EST then fight scores must be posted on the boards no later than 09/20/10 at 11pm EST if the match was reschedule. They also still must be posted on the boards within 24 hours of the matches by both Captains.
- If a PvPEC rep is not available to take the lineups then you must also p.m. Criticalkat each matches lineups before listing the match. Then after the matches each Captain needs to p.m. me what lineups were ran by both teams. If you do not p.m. your lineups before each fight do not ask me to intervene in regards to the other team playing "counter switching".

Well there actually is not an odd number of teams. Teams do not get removed for just rage quitting on the forums. "IF" OZ's team doesn't show up Saturday night then I will personally verify with them that they have quit. As the rules state.
Once they don't show up Saturday every team will get bye points as it becomes their week to fight the missing team. If at the end of the season I need to adjust those numbers based on whatever teams have came or went to make it fair then I will, and will explain what and how I did it.
-
Again can we stop with the drama and smack talking? Or at least take that **** some where else?
-
Anyways can we by chance keep the drama down? Would be much appreciated. I get yelled at for drama like this and I really don't feel like getting yelled at this week.
-

First of all this is not how you ask for a vote. Second of all stop trying to make this about you and me and our past issues. That **** was supposed to be squashed. No you can not get votes to be an exception to rules. (what you asked for the last vote for) and no you do not get to vote on changing how I choose to run the league. Requiring people to publicly vote is not fair and I don't give a damn who tells you they think its a cool idea.
-
That would be a no. People have the right to vote in private. Based on statements on this thread there is atleast 1 Captain telling others they voted differently than they did. That tells me that apparently peer pressure is a problem. I will however never include 2 votes in one p.m. again which might make it easier to understand, hopefully.
-
Allowing Captain votes and request for rule changes is common in all high end leagues and ladders. In fact I have never been in one that didn't allow it. The thing is that people need to really think out things before they ask for votes to be taken and before they vote.
Quote:So we're just going to start adding random rules every time a majority votes for it?
How about a new vote. Every time a new rule comes into effect that makes the entire ladder's previous matches a complete waste of time we just start over at week one again.
Otherwise, use the feedback to add rules for whatever ladder is started up NEXT. Don't change the rules in the middle of the damn game. -
I never thought I would say this but elkie is a ******* genious.
Based on a Captains post not matching up with what they voted I just had a talk with them and they didn't understand what they were voting for. So we are back to no healer limitations again. GLHF -
All of those people did not vote to not limit healers. Apparently if they are telling you they did then maybe they don't want you to know or maybe they are feeling bullied and pressured by the people that do not agree.
3 Captains voted to not limit healers. 5 Captains voted to limit them. The only way that rule is getting changed is if one of those 5 Captains changes their mind.
Quote:I was trying to figure the votes out myself. From the posts here, I would assume Artic, Kara, and your team (Bud is captain, right?) all voted to not limit healers, meaning the proposal wouldn't have passed (since I obviously voted to not limit). There are a couple of other captains here that I would've certainly thought would've voted that way as well, so I'm scratching my head here. -
Ok lets clarify a few things.
- When a vote passes that is the vote unless one of those Captains change their mind in the next day or so that vote will remain. I will not be allowing the second voting to be wasted on a rewording to cancel out the first vote. If Captains didn't feel like they were making the decisions they wanted to make they would contact me. I am not going to waste my time re-voting votes that already passed.
- Allowing Captains to make motions for rule changes was not put in the rules to create drama. It was put there for the purpose of fixing problems. Going on and on about why you don't agree with the votes is retarded. Even a horrible pvp'r like me knows a dozen lineups to bring to wreck 1 healer teams. Adapt and have fun doing it.
- The fact that AT's even need to be considered being limited is ridiculous. People should be playing and having fun and not using "safe" or "FOTM" lineups. However people do and will and its all equally Lame. Some Captains feel like some lineups are impossible to counter and want some changes. Apparently the MAJORITY think it is necessary and whether they have thought out the repercussions or not is irrelevant.
- The end result is that EVERY team has the ability to play various lineups. With only 1 healer the only thing that should change is the kill counts going up in matches. The end result should still be that the BEST team won the match. Teams will start bringing colds or Tk's etc. Both teams "CAN" do it and if both do it then its just all about who does it better.
- Discussing things is fine. Lets keep it productive and moving forward. Trying to alienate other teams because they are "outsiders" is ridiculous. The only team that isn't from Champion is dUmb and being they are complaining about the 1 healer rule going in to effect on the thread it makes no sense to blame them. Realize the teams from other servers could pl any build they want in a matter of days and be ready for the fight night with accolades and build done. That has been the way of hardcore pvp forever, this league is no different.
- At this point both the stalker and healer rules are staying in place. As the season progresses and teams actually do matches under this rule and find that its not working out then if a Captain who voted in favor of it changes their mind I will allow a re-vote, or a reworking of the rule.
-
I may be overly tired and having a blond moment, not sure what you are asking. There was a vote with 2 different wordings of the same type of rule change. This is the version that was voted in. There is no previous vote, its the same vote, just a Captain changed their vote. Just as a Captain changed their vote on the stalker vote.
-
and on that note...next weeks fight schedule is posted. GLHF guise.
-
Ok another team Captain changed their vote.
Stalker limit of 2. Op edited.
And another vote came in to limit healers.
Limit of 1 healer in 3v3's and less and 2 healers in 4v4's and more.
(Healers are defined as empathy, thermal and Pain sets.) -
We don't need to take a re-vote. I stated initially that if any Captains would like to change their votes then send me a p.m. No one has. You changing your vote creates a tie of 4v4 which would still not change the outcome . That is the same outcome of the limiting healers vote.
Quote:I would like 2 take a revote on the limiting stalkers if that is possible pls, I for one voted 2 keep no limit on them just becuz i know that for most this isnt ur home server so u only have a hand full of toons 2 play, but thinking over what Lib posted a away days ago I would like 2 change my vote if the Proposal ever had 2 take a revote. -
-
The reason I keep votes in private p.m.s isn't so much about organization as it is to attempt to keep drama down. Especially from opinionated people who are not even participating in the League. I assume each Captain will let their team know what is going on or get their opinions so really no need to drown the thread is long winded discussions that are pointless when ultimately the decisions are up to only 8 people voting.
Quote:I'm fine with public captain proposals/votes. I figured Kat was just trying to keep votes organized by doing it through PM's here. I generally just post her message to my teammates and get a general consensus before replying with our vote anyway.
I don't see a good solution to the multi-healer issue other than making fun of teams that soley play for ties. We've given our reasons for voting against the proposed healer bans, and I think our reasoning makes sense...but I haven't read anything from the 5 captains that voted to keep 3+ stalkers as an option. What were you guys thinking? -
Each voting result has been posted as a new post in the thread. I realize no one wants to read all the mumbo jumbo in this thread but it is a necessary evil to be able to have a clue what the rules are.
All but the last vote resulted in rule changes. The last vote was to limit healers to 1 per match or 2 for matches larger than 3v3.
Quote:I realize that there were 3 issues on Sat. night regarding the point system (especially for ties), certain maps and limiting healers etc. But...
...Is it possible to have transparency on what was proposed for a vote AFTER the voting results are in? This isn't a complaint in any form. I'm just wondering what the changes are and how it will affect the league as we move forward. It's better to know officially what rules are adjusted/not adjusted rather than to speculate. Thank you. -
Ok voting results are in. The 1st voting proposal is a no. The second one is tied with 4v4. So guys best thing to do is adapt. If you don't have enough buffers to combat 2-3 healers then bring some colds, or 2 tk'rs or broken cagers or ....hell I dunno.
I know there are some of you who want to push the limiting buffer issue. There will only be 1 more vote allowed on this issue so if you want to push the issue I would be careful of your wording and actually take the time to see if you have any support from other Captains.
