Clarice Frank was an archeologist, one of the top few in her field. She was among the more daring, venturing into newly discovered ruins, falling down all around her, often alone. Clarice paid no mind to warnings forbidding entry, as these often meant no more than there was some ingeneous trap up ahead, which of course never managed to hit their mark with her. She lost a good number of colleagues with this reckless behavior, but they knew what they were getting into when they signed up for a Frank expedition.
Of course, such behavior carried on for so long will eventually carry with it a terrible price. An ancient and forboding castle was discovered in northern Germany, during a project to establish a new tunnel for the DeutschBahn. The castle was cut completely from the surrounding mountain, it astounded geologists that a large structure could be buried as such without any damage. Local legend deemed it Schloss Drakonin, and Clarice managed to pull a few strings to be the first to venture in.
A mosaic sealing the door depicted a large and fearsome demon, with the words in an ancient text Beware all ye who enter here, lest you deliver a terrible evil unto the world. Charactaristically ignoring the warning, Clarice broke the seal and opened the door.
Inside, the castle was a dark palace, dark granite staircases, black marble twisted columns; the focal point of the room however was the dais at the top of the stairs upon which rested an amulet with a large fire opal. Clarice was drawn the amulet, and almost mechanically reached out and placed it around her neck. She felt an immediate rush of sensations, and a mind surfacing that was not her own. Panicked she let out a scream that rapidly became a roar. She frantically searched the room and her eyes crossed a mirror, a laughter filling her head. She gazed upon the mirror and saw a figure not her own, she tried to open her mouth to let out another scream, but could not. She again heard a voice in her head, I am the godess of chromatic dragons, Tiamaat. This vessle is now mine. Tiamaat let out a cackle and prepared to bring her power to this pathetic excuse for a material plane.
((Should Technically be Tiamat, but someone's already using that name on Pinnacle))
