Quote:Thirty days? That seems a bit steep versus the 365 I had tried to set it for previously.I just tried this in BMT:
/chan_timeout "BMT of Champion" 30
Channel population before: 2474
Channel population now: 997
BMT now has plenty of room for people to hop in now.
Have fun with that. -
Quote:It doesn't, but thanks.http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...2Fchan_timeout
Plenty of people got it working here. It was in the i18 patch notes.
In fact I just tested it on a smaller channel myself and it worked fine. I know for the larger channel we did it on, we set it for 1 day which caused a huge purge and then set it to 90-120 days with the thought being that anyone worth having in the channel who would contribute would be smart enough to rejoin if they were kicked.

Hope this helps. GLHF -
I'm sure it did, as you said, at some point. I never said it never, ever worked. But as it stands, it currently doesn't. At least for BMT as that was the only channel I was concerned with, and after setting it numerous times over the years with zero results, even as recently as roughly around the time o' the i21/F2P announcement to prepare the channel for potential additional members, with the same negative results. It's been brought up in at least one other thread where players who are mods in other channels have mentioned the same negative results. Thus my elevation o' the problem to the Devs and the Community team.

Quote:I'm well aware that it's been in-game for quite a while, that's why I tried to use it. And you would be the first person to say that it works. I've tried it numerous times where I know there are accounts in the channel that've been away for passed the time limit set, and the channel member count doesn't change after usin' the command. Thus, it doesn't work. Additionally, it's on the QoL list for a fix, which also tells me that it doesn't work. And, as I stated before, I've been in contact with various Devs and Community folks that tells me its bein' worked on or fixed. Which tells me it doesn't work.If you're referring to this....
/chan_timeout <channel name> <days>
Sets the number of days a member of a global channel must go without logging in before being automatically kicked from the channel.
It's been in the game for quite a while, and works fine. We cleaned up some channels with it. -
Quote:It doesn't. And no.All I really can say is that Cobalt, you should really jump back into BMT. Just because you stepped won from Mod-ship doesn't mean that you should leave the channel completely. You did do good for the channel while you were a Mod and it makes no sense to completely give that up now. I'm sure you have your reasons obviously, but being part of the community and giving back like you always have should be priority. I originally stepped down from Modin' in BMT because I tried to have a go at a different server and didn't see the point to being in BMT if I wasn't part of the server it was attached to. I rejoined when I came back to champion and went back to helping with or without bein' a Mod. You should be doing the same, having a star shouldn't matter in the end.

Quote:Keep tellin' yourself that. You only kept BMT because I GAVE IT TO YOU. Just because you believe that you have all of the answers doesn't make it the truth.
Quote:Honestly, you've created more drama on the server with BMT than I am capable of, however, you go ahead and color things however you like. You always do.
Before you start pointin' fingers about drama, you may wish to take a look in the closet and see what skeletons you've got in there. -
Quote:First, you would've failed. Secondly, you chose #2, then #3, which was that you started your own channel. This basically comes across as, "If I can't have my way, then I'll go somewhere else." Which sounds exactly like another dramawhore on the server.I have nothing against Cobalt, I just did not like the was he handled the channel, and when the time came to either take it over or leave, I chose door #2.
Quote:Besides, my Tell He'll gets bad enough that (this might be the shocker for some ) I didn't feel like dealing with the whining that might result in it.
Quote:No that he is no longer an Op, I will be more than happy to help out. Global channels are there to allow people to find teams and enjoy themselves, not be moderated into oblivion. The moment this is again, I'm gone.
Quote:All of this piddly server drama needs to come to an end. -

Yeah, I was one o' the people that had Ocho put it on the list, and I've also been in contact with both Zwillinger and Avatea about it, and they've assured me that it's still on the list.

You know, I'm surprised it took this long.
Quote:For reference. As this sounds more reactive, then proactive.at least when a certain blue guy was on he gave you a warning before silencing unless it was a blatant violation. Not because he didn't like your conversation.

This would basically be the opposite of the current Combat option, which is where an aura activates in those circumstances. I want to be able to have an aura go away in those same circumstances.
And, specifically, I want this option to be enabled for Celestial Wings. I know, not an aura, but see below.
I want to be able to give the impression that when going in battle, the energy of the Celestial Wings wrap around my character's form protectively. With the current Combat option for auras, this would look like the Wings become the aura as the Wings suppress and the aura becomes active. I think, especially with Victorian Decor that I use, this would look amazing.
I understand that this won't make it into Issue 21, but I'd like to see it as an option in the future, and maybe not just for auras and Celestial Wings either, but other costume pieces as well. -
Congratulations, 'Ko. Many more and all that.
