  1. I think that television programming is beginning to change, slowly but surely, and for the better. Just not so much on the former flagship stations.

Look back to the 90's, the heyday of sindicated TV shows. You had some really darn good programs on. Babylon 5, Hercules, Xena and there were even occassional episodes of STNG that didn't stink on ice. None of those shows would have survived on Network TV but they were all quite successful.

That trend is actually increasing I think, more and more the quality shows tend to not be on the Big networks prime time.
Yes, they still do produce some good shows. No argument there, but shows that take some chances or appeal to a niche audience, whether sci-fi or what have you are really hitting their stride on cable networks now.

It's a shame that the Sci-Fi network seems to be bucking that trend but pro wrestling has always been a ratings winner on cable. I think what is really hurting that network isn't the odd wrestling program or two... it's the dearth of quality shows. No Farscape, no Stargate SG-1, no BSG... they don't really have a flagship show to hang their hat on and the network seems to be drifting along.

Anyway, thats my long winded and boring two cents on the matter. I'm pleased that Chuck survived the chopping block and I'm sorry that some good shows didn't.
  2. As to the original topic. No, I think that's bogus you got booted. There are, regrettably, some dumb such and suches that you will always find in any social setting. What you described doesn't seem near bootable to me. Now... let's say full on makeout session with you two ripping off one another's clothes with language that would make Larry Flynt blush.. ok I can see that. But that doesn't sound like it's even close to what happened. Bottom line, the person that booted you is a (censored).

And Dr. Pepper makes me want to yack I'm sorry to say.
  3. I have to agree with Deebs, the new Throwback Pepsi is the bomb. It also seems to... well... drink smoother. If that makes any sense whatsoever.
  4. Welcome back! This game has a way of drawing folks back in. Sorry to hear about your hospital stay and I hope you enjoy yourself back in the game.
  5. I think the main reason the Daisy Adair from the Dead Like Me DVD didn't work is that they literally had to replace the original cast member at the last second from what I remember. Plus trying to replace a cast member when everyone else already has their characters down pat is very very tough to pull off. I didn't care for the new Daisy Adair at all (she didn't have the underlying sadness the original brought to the role) but she really was put in a no win situation.
That having been said I thought everyone else really nailed their characters. The Reggie and George scenes were very good and it was like watching someone put on a comfortable old pair of shoes with the other actors stepping back into their roles. Plus we got to see the old Happy Time office crew and darn it I miss those folks!
  6. I think I'll join others in wishing him a happy birthday... with no spanking from me thank you very much.
  7. Dead Like Me did have a fun little straight to DVD movie that will hopefully do well enough to get one another one made.
  8. Now, now, let's not argue over the nekkidness and which movies are better then others when it comes to being unclothed. Rather let us join together to call for even more nekkidness in the cinema.

And to get back to the subject of the thread, I caught the Wolvie movie last night and was fairly underwhelmed. It wasn't the worst movie I've seen, not even the worst X-Men movie I've seen, but it just didn't have much going for it. That having been said it's a perfectly acceptable popcorn movie to go see if there isn't that much else out that catches your eye.
  9. Hey now... don't diss Resident Evil the movie. Sure it wasn't great but it did have a bit of choice nekkidness in it. In retrospect perhaps it would have been better as a ten second film I will grant you, but it wasn't all bad.
  10. Thanks a bunch Ex, with the flood of missions that this community will be turning out I imagine this will be a thread that gets a lot of traffic.
  11. There are some MAs in here that I'm really looking forward to taking out for a spin once this goes live. I think this is a great idea for the Virtue community and I hope it gets Stickied to it's rightful place of honor.

I will admit that I am somewhat saddened that no one has put up the oft threatened "Azuria has lost her unmentionables while on a date and you must retrieve them" mission yet. Surely someone has penned a MA about this? Where would any mystics in this game be without Azuria losing assorted and sundry goodies to the forces of darkness?
  12. It really is a first class video too. My hat is off to our favorite Rikti busting videographer.
