Quote:Ha. My Sisters a big fan of Igor Presnyakov as well. Fade to Black was pretty kick A**You all need to get familiar with Igor Presnyakov. Amazing guitarist...here are two of his covers:
Michael Jackson's Black or White
And some Red Hot Chili Peppers
And one more, from Andy McKee (lvl 50 guitar master, purpled out, and +4 shifted)...here's his amazing cover of Toto's 'Africa'. -

if anyone is leveling an ultimatium here its you.
You're being uncompromising in your desire to join the league.
we have compromised and offerd you a solution. Its basically your way or no way. -
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/compromise
3.
something intermediate between different things: -
The league is closed.
The compromise was/is letting them in and joining the free agent list. The desire is to have more talent on the teams that perhaps need the help, not to add another stacked team in the league. Spreading the talent better to hopefully close the gap from the bottom teams to the top 2 teams. 3 of the teams have takin hits and could use the extra people.
We'd like to make things better for the teams that have been in both the basic training and now this league. Not make it worse. By letting in another stacked team, when there are teams that are in need of people on their rosters, i feel it would be a detriment. Its too bad there is an unwillingness there to perhaps take this offer as a chance to pass along a few tips and pointers to those pvp teams that could certainly use the guidence.
It isnt myself or MAH that are not willing to compromise. It is this other team. -

Quote:Do you really blame anyone from being totally burnt from pvp from champion after that BS? Cmon, Kev! It was a total disaster from every single aspect possible.Once Bud's league was over, PvP died on Champion and you couldn't even get kickball going. Those who still wanted to play in a league moved over to Freedom. Once that league was over, arena PvP died again with quite a few people leaving the game. I'm afraid that might happen again even with a league already planned after this one.
The majority of those that "moved" to freedom were already from there.. hardly anyone that actually calls champion their home server went.
The people that I feel are being a bit on the omgdoooom side now, are the more seasond pvpers.. and although the direction of this league shifted some, the main idea is still there.
This league wasnt totally designed for the seasond pvper.. The people that are from here, went thru the basic training side of things are trying to remain positive and for the most part are having a good time.
Champion sat for a long time with no organized PVP. A lot of us are trying to make it work.
Practice makes perfect, hopefully we'll all find a way to have all skill lvl's of pvp coexist in the same league so we all can get something from it.
Peace. -
Quote:Actually, I believe the fear is that there are enough "stacked teams" in the league already, so adding in another one isn't desireable.
With this league being a continuation of the boot camp we had, I would have thought that teams made up of half and half vets to new people would have been a much better option, but it didn't turn out that way. Ah well.
This is a lesson learned unfortunately too late. Actually, we knew it after it was posted but.. it was already posted so we continued on.
Lessons still being learned as we go. Everyone for the most part is patient and appreciates what we're all trying to do. The next league (Sign ups for that start mid august) will be limited to 4 ready-made players and to draft from there...
anyways. this subjects been beat to death.
glhf. -
We werent being restrictive. We offerd them to join free agents, like everyone else at that point in the sign ups. They declined.
-
Sigh ups were there for a month. If you guys cant get your stuff together and join in a timely manner, thats on you, not any of us. Everyone else, including the list of 40+ free agents followed the rules. There is no reason you should be above them.
Considering you say youre from THIS server and there had been more than adequate advertising of this league, there REALLY is no excuse that you couldnt pull it together on time.
RE: Cape forums.
This is posted in the main cape area :
There are several areas in the forums that are based on membership participation..
Currently, the PvP sections are closed to those members that arent currently in this seasons league.
PvP forums will re-open once this season is over and we're ready to launch the next .
EVERYONE had access to all areas (except admins) up till the point that sign ups ended. At that time those that hadnt signed up for the league had their permissions lowerd... in an effort to minimize outside disruption.
There are in fact posts made by Silit in the pvp area while sign ups were still happening. -
Quote:oh i am. i was just trying to understand his comment. Not at the level there was on test in its heyday, that's for sure (and I'd never count myself among the skilled, etc.).
Just enjoy this league for what it is, a bunch of people having fun on Sundays for a few hours.
Quote:If the attitude from newer players is that the so called "skilled" can't join their club and PvP either.
Is... is that a bell in the distance I hear?
Oh no, that's just hypocrisy. -
Quote:Are you saying we have no skilled pvpers in this current league?I ran PvP server events on Champion long before the CAPE did, and with that in mind, and having participated in several server leagues and Test ladders, I can tell you right now that the amount of new player influx has generally been the same. "Elite PvPers" dominating be damned.
The "elite" PvPers always called for newer players to join the ranks and learn to play, and despite general ribbing and **** talk, were conducive to such an environment.
If the attitude from newer players is that the so called "skilled" can't join their club and PvP either.

Quote:This is exactly what a lot of us were hoping to accomplish. If only 1 person feels this way then in my book its been a success and worth all the poop we've had to put up with.Well, a lot of the players have been PvP'ing for quite a while. Yes, alot of players are new to PvP. But if we follow the old road of extreme elites dominating then no one new wants to keep PvPing.
Personally I don't care about skill levels, who wins, who loses, who is leet. I care about having a blast with a bunch of cool people, getting the adrenaline pumping, and having a massive, sh*t-eating grin when I log for the night. This PvP league has, so far, accomplished all of that for me.
This makes it win and nothing less.
mad love shay, mad mad love. <3 -

Quote:I wouldn't necessarily equate a concern about F2P players with a dislike for new players. I can't speak for everyone, but there are many veterans on this server that have assisted new players with the game and welcomed them with open arms. It's more the fact that in other games F2P has attracted a certain crowd known to be... generally unpleasant. Many people have experienced that first hand and therefore are concerned as to how that would affect our community as it currently is.
I was a pug once...

VIP for new content

Quote:Looks like I'll be kissing Champion good bye and move off to whatever the subscriber only server is.
Now we know the real reason behind the freedom servers stress test during the last event...
vip server= name loss, possible sg name loss, possible @global loss -
i had to laugh when they said this:
