I just want to let everybody know that I may be late tonight. Things have been crazy at work and we're short handed right now (I didn't get home last night until about 7:20). I'm going to do my best to be on time, but if I'm not on by ten after, go ahead and get started and I'll catch up with you guys.
See you guys tonight (at some point)! -
Sorry you can't make it, Edie. Thanks for letting us know, and have a safe flight!

We're meeting at 7:00pm by Blue Steele in King's Row, Edie.

Lights, camera,...A.C.T.I.O.N.!
Our SG group is officially established! I opted to go with just A.C.T.I.O.N. and dropped the "Squad" part as I felt it was redundant. I figured that using just A.C.T.I.O.N. makes for some better wordplay possiblities too (The men and women of A.C.T.I.O.N., Get in on the A.C.T.I.O.N., etc). I kept everything for the group at the default and figured we could work out the finer details later.
See you guys Friday! (I can't wait!)

What do you guys (and gal) think of:
Allied
Casual
Teamers &
Independent
Operaters
Network
-----------
Eventually, I'd like to expand the SG beyond us and maybe make it a bit more formal, the concept being similar to Justice League Unlimited. Basically, heroes who typically operate solo sign up to be members of A.C.T.I.O.N. in order to find other people to team up with for the really big threats and to have a base to operate from. I figure we can have our alts join (if we want, totally optional) to help build up prestige for the group.
Let me know what you think! -
Good catch, Turbo, I didn't even notice the date!
Since we're almost to level 10, it's time to start planning for an SG. I figure we'll start one when we hit 10, build up some prestige, and then start building a base once we've got a pretty nice nest egg. We need to figure out a name though.
Blue Turbo suggested something with the word "casual" in it (since that's what we are, casual players) or something to convey that, which set my wheels to turning. My original idea for a name was The Action Squad or Action Unlimited, but with Blue Turbo's suggestion I started thinking along the lines of an acronym: A.C.T.I.O.N. So far I've got:
Alliance (or Association) of
Casual
Team-Mates
Something
Something
Something
Let me know what ideas you have for names (or if you can think of something to complete my acronym) and we'll vote for what we like best.
By the way, Ka_Blam, with your penchant for creating virtual armies of alts, I'm expecting no less than 25 suggestions from you! -
Quote:I can do almost any night but Monday. Weds or Thurs would work best for me. How 'bout the rest of you guys?Hey everyone, I know this is way in advance but I thought it'd be better to post early so maybe we could work around it. On Friday the 9th I'll be on a plane to NYC
so I won't be able to make it. Is there any way we can make it earlier in the week?
I think we have a really good team going, by the way -
I had a great time too! Great mix of players/powers. Hope to see everyone next Friday!
-
You're more than welcome to join us Edie. I got a little behind at work so I might be a couple minutes late. I'll hold things until about ten after. Meet up with Rusty Steele under the Atlas statue if you can make it.
-
Just so there's no confusion, we're going to be using brand new toons. The original three of us have only played through the tutorial and are all at level 2.
-
Under the Atlas statue sounds good, BlueTurbo. Anyone interested can meet up with us there at the designated time. Hope to see a few more people there!
-
Sorry, nightookami, but for now I we're going to keep things on Friday nights. After we establish an SG though, I'm all for having people join up and running alternate static teams on various nights. If you'd like I can send you a private message when we get to that point. Let me know.
Hey Black_Marrow, glad to hear you're keeping your account, sorry to hear you won't be able to join us
. I'll send you a message too if we start running a team(s) on a different night.
-
A few of us are starting a small static team on Friday nights. So far we have a Rad/Ice blaster, a DB/WP scrapper, and ... a person with 6 possible characters (2 tankers, 2 controllers, and 2 defenders) who's ready to fill whatever gap we have.
We're looking for 1 or 2 other players who can commit to a couple hours every Friday night for some superhero goodness with a little light role-play. We're not min/maxers looking to create uber characters, just looking to enjoy the game with a good group of players. I'd eventually like to form an SG with the group.
Our first session will be this Friday at 7pm PST (maybe 7:30 if I get caught up at work). Please respond to this thread or send me a private message if you're interested! -
Thanks for the info, StrykerX!

Okay, so Scrapper it is. Any suggestions for IO sets that won't totally break the bank?
-
My two main concerns are survivability when playing solo and being able to fill a role on a team. I gravitated towards Tankers awhile back because when I first started playing the game I basically sucked at it and kept faceplanting. As a Tanker survivablity wasn't an issue, but when I do occassionally team I've discovered that Tanking really is an art form which I'm probably not that great at. Granted, I know that there are some issues holding aggro with a WP Tanker, but it seems that most teams I end up on (all PuG's btw) are throwing around knockback like crazy.
I'm probably going to go the Scrapper route, but how big of a difference will this make in my ability to survive when solo versus playing as a Tanker? -
I created a concept character that was a Fire/Fire Tanker but I'm not all that crazy about Firey Aura (I'm used to playing Willpower toons). I'm just curious to know what the major differences would be between a Tanker and a Scrapper. I usually end up playing solo but I do team every once in awhile.
