Wrath exhaled slowly and closed her eyes, she felt wracked with guilt at not being able to help Schmitt more during the attack, that she had been a liability as she had found herself targeted again and again. But she hadn't been entirely useless, despite keeping up the pretence that she was the weak link of the couple for the werewolf's benefit she subtly weaved her magics, getting a feel for their surroundings. Silently she communed with the plants of the park around them. They felt different to the alien foliage she could summon, and the familiar greenery of the Misty Woods she called home but still they yielded to her, sharing with her their knowledge. Nodding a little she felt through them the gentle, rapid footfalls of their assailant.
"He's moving away" She declared simply and quietly once she was sure he was out of earshot. "He'll hit somewhere urban soon and I'll lose him but we know the direction he has gone in. Can you follow? Or shall we leave and rest? He knows of us now and he will find us again, we will need to be prepared." -
Quote:Wrath had been hesitant to come to Germany with Schmitt, they hadn't been together long and he was going through a difficult time, yet still a part of her had demanded to come with him to be nearby in case he needed support from outside his family. Stretching her arms gently above her head she looked around, wondering where her own family had gotten to, she'd brought them with her, fearing the worst of Bathory's Open Season, although she'd let them go do their own thing. "It's perfect" She replied as she looked down to her partner, a seldom seen smile coming to her features "And you don't need to apologise, there's nothing to apologise for"He starts to unfurl the blanket not moving from the wheelchair, some would find it hard to believe that this person is the hero now known as Unbeweglich. Shifting from the chair to the floor as he smooths the blanket out, patting next to him for Wrath and stretches with a yawn.
Brushing her hair back behind a pointed ear she settled herself beside Schmitt on the blanket. "But thank you for this. You didn't have to invite me along" -
"Y'love me?" Hailey spat out as she staggered back a little "Y'barely know me, y'dump me an' then decide t'track me down an' practically destroy the place'm in? Look, I ain't the brightest girl, but this jus' all seems messed up don't it?"
Trying her best to look angry rather than pained at how her day had developed she balled her hands into fists "'m done with this mess.." She growled, glancing between Sword and Alpha before turning to leave "I'll see you guys around" -
As the wire hit the electrical contact of the haphazard teleportation device a shimmer filled the air and a 'bzzt' sound marked the departure of Shop, Game and Kimi from the room. Dizzy and dazed from the quick teleportation Hailey glanced up at Sword before struggling in his grip "Jus' let me go! I don't need this sh*t!" She objected, now wanting nothing more than to just wash her hands of the whole day.
Meanwhile...
With another 'bzzt' the trio who had teleported away arrived in The Corporation's base. With a smile Kimi glanced around their surroundings, the heavy walls, secure door and sparse furniture indicated one thing. "Cute, they reroute to the cells" She remarked idly before looking over the two men locked up with her, a small frown furrowing her forehead.
"He pulled her loose then.." She observed with a small irritated sigh "Seriously, why can't that boy see that she should have come with us. I mean either of you would do her a lot more good. Even given your rep, Game" She added her mischievous smile returning as she collapsed onto the simple cot, awaiting their release "No offence of course" -
Kimiko quickly scanned the room and her eyes lit up as she saw the cobbled together device still held in Shop's hand. Moving with grace and ease she wrapped her arm around the slightly stunned Hailey's waist, gun still pointed at the other girl's head. "Now would be a really good time to get us out of here hun" She called out to Shop as she kept her gaze on Sword, her finger gently squeezing the trigger of her pistol just a little to stop him making any stupid movements.
-
Quote:Kimiko gave a clearly satisfied smile as she looked over the anxious Big Game. Despite the sounds of chaos outside she leant in, brushing her lips across his cheek before purring near his ear "You've got a deal"Big Game turned back to Kimi. Look I said all Im gonna say. You got my offer. Are you gonna let me have Shop, and we all walk away happy bunnies or what?
With those words she moved quickly, grabbing hold of Game's hand and setting off through the warehouse at a brisk pace. Only now that she had finished her negotiations and that she had the cover of the sounds of fighting behind her did she let a small sad sigh escape her. She'd put so long into her hideout, and more than that, the robots that had undoubtedly been cut down by now were like family to her. Her metallic cat ears sank a little, pressing sadly against her head as she spared a thought for Knox, the robot she'd built to deal with people at the door who undoubtedly would have been the first victim.
Meanwhile...
Quote:Almost done. Its only going to be good for the one port, but at least well all be able to use it... I hope...
"Like hell you're going out there!" Kimi objected as she and Big Game burst quickly into the room. Grabbing the material of Hailey's small shirt at the scruff of the neck with her free hand she tugged the teen away from the door "You've got no armour and they're throwing around powers. Besides Carl would hate it if anything were to happen to you."
Hailey squirmed free with only some ripping to the back of her shirt "Y'say that like've not taken on metas b'fore! I ain't helpless! An' neither you'r Carl are my parents! I don't need parents"
Sighing to herself Kimi shook her head, she didn't have time. Without further pause she dropped the scrap of Hailey's shirt and claimed her pistol aiming it squarely at Hailey's head. "So, you think I'm crazy. Question is do you think I'm crazy enough to pull this trigger to stop you going off and being stupid?" -
Kimi wasn't usually one to run but her neotiations were getting interesting and she had no intention of being interrupted just yet. After rigging the room she and Game had been in with yet more devices and defences she'd grabbed the hunters hand and with a playful smirk lead him even further into the building. Slamming a thick door closed behind them a small grin settled on her features. "So, where were we?" She purred mischievously.
Meanwhile..
Hailey felt conflicted as she heard the sounds of conflict elsewhere in the building, she wasn't one to run from a fight and she certainly wasn't one to let someone else fight on her behalf. It just made no sense to her how Sword could think he could be angry and upset on her behalf. Glancing beside her she looked over Shop and sighed a little, she'd promised to keep an eye on him and hadn't he been though enough already?
Reaching her decision she tooks two items off of her belt, her emergency teleporter and the card she'd been given to access The Corporation, she threw both to the other teenager. "Here, yer good with tech y'should b'able t'make summat t'get y'outta here with these yeah?" She ventured before looking back the way they'd come and to the sounds of destruction. She didn't have any armour with her but she knew she had to do something "I'll watch yer back til yer out'n then I guess'm going into all that" -
To clarify on this; Blade asked for details of the defences of where Kimi is. I gave details as best I could and gave permission for them to be fought through. I was a little disappointed at the ease Sword broke through however as Kimiko is an inventor and has allsorts of tech defences as well as magic she's had an ally put in place, I'd have hoped it would have been more impressive. That said I'm not the sort to argue too much, I object most if it stalls the flow of a story or is completely out of the realms of possibility.

"Yeah, I get it. My life ain't been so great neither so I know how it c'n be. The Corp got me outta an awful place, so fer a while I was kinda focuse on stuff with them.." Hailey stated a little bluntly before shaking her head to clear it. She opened her mouth to speak again but was interrupted by the sound of her phone bleeping.
Reading the text message she gave a small sigh. "Speakin'f the 'sword freak guy' he's tryin' t'track us down. He jus' don' get that I c'n take care'f myself. So.. yeah'm gonna get yeh t'where y'can relax an' watch TV an' avoid more stuff with Sword"
Cracking her knuckles once more she grabbed hold of Shop's wrist again to lead him into the next room.
Meanwhile...
A quiet whirr emenated from the front door and a barely perceptible beam of light travelled up Sword's body, scanning the man knocking on the door. "Sorry, we're closed!" Came the sound of a gruff workman from behind the entranceway. -
Quote:Hailey made a small unimpressed sound as she watched Shop crane his neck a little as he glanced back to the room they'd just left. With an irritated sound she let go of his wrist. As Shop was dragged away he couldn't help but look back at Big Game and Kimi with pangs of jealousy. Knowing his father's reputation, and considering Kimi's own alley cat morals he couldn't help but think where negotiations might lead to. Normally it wouldn't be much of an issue but during his time with Kimi he'd unintentionally developed some feelings for the crazy woman.
"If y'really wanna go spy on'm go do it, I ain't gonna stop ya. But y'might not wanna see" She commented, placing a hand firmly on her hip. Her body language tense. Whilst Shop had clearly developed some feelings for Kimi the slightly younger girl couldn't help but feel like his reaction was a slight on her company.
"I c'n go hang out on my own" -
One of Kimi's Hideouts, somewhere in The Rogue Isles
Hailey quietly seethed, part of her wanted to punch Kimiko and another part of her wanted to devolve down to the teenage reaction of throwing her arms up in exasperation and storming off. Angrily cracking her knuckles she glanced around at the other girl's suggestion. Glancing at Shop she exhaled with an air of irritability, sure she was annoyed but Shop was starting to grow on her and the sooner the whole mess was resolved the better. Without thinking she grabbed the wrist of the bewildered teen and dragged him away. "Come on, y'probably don' want t'see this anyways" She grumbled as she lead the way to the next room.
"She's got a TV an' a bed through here" She commented in an offhand tone before giving a snort of laughter at his expression "Fer somethin' t'sit on rather than a crate, are y'always like this? How've you not been eaten alive out in the Isles?"
Meanwhile..
Kimiko watched her 'friend' storm off with a smirk. "She'll forgive me" She remarked playfully before glancing back to Big Game "Your son seems to be her type too which will help" She fished, yet again disappointed with the lack of reaction to referring to the younger male as a relative of the hunter. Her disappointment manifested in a small pout which yet again didn't provoke as much as a reaction as she hoped. Maybe he was better with people than his first storming in had indicated.
Her metallic cat ears gave a small lazy twitch as she watched Game for a long moment. "So, back to business then. I suppose the big point here, is what you're willing to give up to get your boy back and not end up with you both in Báthory's hands.." -
Giving a tiny yawn Kimiko clicked her fingers as Sword came to a stop in front of her. With a small buzz the lights flickered and died, leaving the room in complete darkness. Bored now Chimed Kimis voice before a soft eerie howling filled the space around them. Dark tendrils grew from the ground encircling Swords legs without warning.
With a mischievous giggle Kimi moved easily in the darkness, the sound of her moving only just audible before a small fwoosh noise. After that everything else went silent as the Court mercenary was left alone in the dark.
An Old Warehouse, Elsewhere in the Isles
Kimi landed easily on the cluttered floor of a building she knew well. The warehouse had served as a home for her for a few months off and on. Hailey on the other hand stumbled at the surprise teleportation, tripping over a crate she grabbed hold of Shop as the nearest available thing to steady herself. What the hell Kimi?! She demanded, I knew you were certifiable, but today..? This is..
Defences clicked as they scanned the new arrivals and the red dots of laser pointers lit up Big Game, Shop and Hailey, quickly stopping the teenage girls objections. Shhh, theyre just guests Kimi assured the technology with a small calming gesture in the direction of a particular turret. The targeting lights slowly and somewhat begrudgingly dimmed before shutting off entirely. So, Hailey, I know youre annoyed but you know where everything is, do you still want to keep Shop busy whilst I get back to negotiations with Game here? -
Quote:Kimi rolled her eyes "Do I look like a psychic?" she questioned, seemingly unphased by the young man's swinging swords. Settling back against Shop to ensure he wouldn't leave prematurely she stifled a small yawn. "I can't undo it, besides, what do you care?" She questioned as a low whine of several guns and defences activating filled the air.Now Kimi, are you gonna put Hailey back the way she was or am i gonna have to MAKE YOU!?" Sword shouted the last part to add emphasis.
"The Court may have some good mad scientists, but none of them are the best in their field. I can already see what's been done to your armour and I have a couple of things that will cause you some... discomfort"
"What the hell Sword?!" Hailey cut in angrily "How many times do I have t'tell yeh I c'n fight my own fights? I don't need yeh interferin'!"
Making a low annoyed sound the teenager cracked her knuckles, she didn't know who she wanted to punch more Kimi or Sword but despite the swords and the guns being waved around she felt the itch to throw herself at someone. -
Quote:"Oh dear.." Kimi responded, an amused smile on her face "Sword, sweety, it's good to see you but here was me thinking you'd left the bounties alone for now. I'd have thought you'd have been more concerned with the triggers in Hailey. Maybe you are just that self centred and fickle.. and that's coming from me!"Sword held his blades to either side of him, blocking the door way. With his shield's activated the red laser pointers that Kimi's robot gaurds were pointing at him reflected or refracted away from Sword's armoured body.
Stretching languidly she took a small amount of pleasure in squirming a little in Shop's lap as she looked over the armoured figure in the doorway. "And it was me that suggested you upgrade. You have weak spots in that set up, that and I've seen for myself how easily you can remove it" she added to her sentiment her eyes narrowing a fraction and a smirk curling her lips.
"So yeh did mess with my head?" Hailey growled quietly, her gaze now focused solely on the center of this entire situation, Kimi.
"Just because I'm your friend Hails!" Came Kimi's reply, here eyes not leaving Sword "This guy's a jerk, he was chasing me, and then you a day later and now, the smallest sign of hardship and he dumped you. This was just the easiest way to let you see him for what he is"
Hailey's eyes flashed with anger as she stood stiffly, her hands balling into tight fists as she glared at the other girl. -
Quote:Kimi gave a small purr and cuddled closer to Shop, finding the redness in his cheeks adorable. "What if he doesn't want to leave?" She countered happily "Besides, he's handy to have around.. plus you're both worth so much money. I bet I could get a bonus for a matching set! Surely you can see my dilemma here, just giving up someone you care about without getting something would be bad business practice.""Look, Kimi right? It's obvious you been taking good care of the little runt. Not only that Aquis vouched for you so there's no need for any unpleasantness. How about you just hand over the kid and we'll all go our merry ways?"
Quote:Standing in the door way with his cloaking field activated so as not to be seen.
Quietly Hailey groaned, all she'd wanted to do was get this favour to Aquis over and done with, to maybe have the chairman at least on her side in her current mess. Looking back to the scene before her she found her gaze drawn to Shop again.
"Look, Kimi, why don't y'let me'n Shop go fer a walk'r summat? S'pointless us all bein' crammed in here'f all hells gonna break loose. Y'can even send one'f yer boys t'chaperone if it'd make y'feel better. Then you'n Game can do that negotiatin' thing" -
Quote:Kimi was the first to break the silence. With practiced ease she moved swiftly, sitting herself in the lap of the clearly shocked Shop and draping an arm around his shoulders as she pouted up at Big Game."Kid! Me an you need to have words."
Meanwhile both Hailey and Kimi looked between the two similar looking males obviously thinking the same thing...
"Wow, it sounds like all the stories of your being a charmer are really exaggerated She commented idly with a hint of mischief in her tone No hello? No Thank you for keeping my adorable little brother safe? She added, raising a questioning eyebrow as she looked over the hunter whod burst into her room. Now shed seen him in person there was no doubt over the similarities between the infamous older man and the embarrassed teen sat beneath her.
Pointedly she placed her free hand against the pistol slung casually at her side, not that she especially needed it. With Shops help the room was now covered easily by her robots and a few other fun, and destructive, toys. She just needed to make sure Game didnt think he could just walk in and out with ease, this had too much potential to be a lot of fun.
Hailey meanwhile had chosen to recline against the doorframe, idly looking back and forth between Shop and Game, shed originally thought Kimis calling the younger male Games son or brother was just the oriental girl being crazy but seeing them together like this really did make it a plausible theory. She was torn from her thoughts by Shops expression however, despite her gruff stance and mildly annoyed demeanour a small amount of empathy showed through in her eyes. Kimiko had been the same with her when theyd first met and it had caused her some discomfort as well, although she hadnt been anywhere near as obvious with it and the older girl had quickly tired of it. -
Quote:Hailey couldn't help but smirk "Oh, you ain't got no idea what yer about t'walk into do yeh?" She remarked casually as she watched Big Game gather his gear."Gimmie the run down of what you know on the way out. 'Spose I getter go rescue the little runt."
"Yer likely not gonna need the combat stuff, the girl that's got him is a friend'f mine but boy does she have a few screws loose. If y'want yer kid back'd suggest playin' nice an' talkin' t'her. Although.." She looked over his bedraggled appearance again "..maybe that'd've only worked when y'were lookin' yer best. Couldn't work out if she wanted t'capture yeh, kill yeh or jus' bed yeh, maybe all'f 'em, c'n never tell with Kimi" -
One of Techbot Alpha's hidden storehouses, somewhere in the Rogue Isles. Two days later.
Heavily booted feet shuffled through the warehouse, kicking debris and sending it scattering across the floor. Stalking between crates the young woman paused as she spotted who she assumed she was supposed to be meeting here. He was on guard having clearly heard her far from subtle approach.
Yreally think if I was out tget ya Idve been that loud? The blonde girl questioned as her dark eyes looked up the entirety of the unkempt Big Game. Well aint you pretty? She remarked with a snort of a laugh before leaning against a create.
m Hailey She spoke up again, not letting him get a word in edgewise, she didnt want to be here and planned to be out and doing her own thing as soon as possible Aquis told me tlet yknow that I cn help yeh find yer apprentice or whatever the hell that Shop kid is tyeh. Yknow, Im told tryin thold people captive as bait is hard work if the target aint bright enough tfind a wayf checkin their phone number -

Thanks so much to all who attended, I am working on the handbook page for the ball and in attendance throughout the evening were over 60 characters! At it's peak I think we had in abundance of about 25 characters, I was stunned but so very glad that this had proved popular!
As this was a success I am definately thinking of making it a semi regular fixture as it's a good way for characters to network and to spread/resolve plots. I was thinking quarterly events so the next one would be autumn(ish) - perhaps in the runup to halloween with a focus on weapons/contracts etc for taking on magical beasties.. I shall have a think. Consider last night my testing the water and now I know it's all nice I can work on something bigger and better for next time! -
First post updated with new info to help tonight go ahead a lil more smoothly (in theory)
-
If it proves popular enough I'm hoping it'll go on for a few hours, maybe with a few business prospects/allies being brought back to the Corp base for an after party affair so those who get home later can still dive into something.
I am currently contemplating throwing together a loose idea of whats in the Monkey Bar and events going on.. So there may be updates here this afternoon. -
Emerald's eyes narrowed slightly and a tiny sigh escaped her lips as she watched the bar turn into a common brawl. With adept powers on both sides this could go on for a while and already it seemed as though it was going to be a bloody mess. With practiced grace the tall dancer stood and fixed her hair, tucking a loose strand of her green tresses behind her ear.
She gave a parting nod in Silvas' direction before turning to face the door, planning the best route through the violent rabble. Unable to spot an easy path she decided to cut her own. Flicking her hands to the side a noxious green glow started to encircle her slender ebony fingers before trailing lazily in spirals up her forearms. Striding confidently forwards she opened her arms further, steadily meeting the gaze of anyone who got in her way, silently telling them to move and offering the radiation she wielded as the alternative. -
Oh, fail on me. Yes, that would be British Summer Time but I am hoping we'll have enough turn out to keep going for a while so people don't need to turn up right at the start (unless of course your character is the sort of merc to be bang on time)

Remember kiddies this is going ahead tomorrow, hope to see some of you there!
